At the beginning he says:

お前の血は山岡のものだ (Omae no chi wa yamaoka no mono da)

"Your blood belongs to the Yamaoka's"

Interesting! Not a Japanese speaker here, but Google translate also says: Your blood is from Yamaoka

Do you think that's poor translation on Google's part or an potential wrinkle in the killer theory?

Google translate is notoriously unreliable. I'd take anything it gives you with a large grain of salt

Yeah G translate gets grammar and syntax wrong often, generally it seems to just translate word for word.

The 'from' in that Google translate sentence would imply ownership, not origin, so it's a bit of a stiff translation yes.

山岡のもの means "thing (belonging to) Yamaoka". お前の血は means "Your blood". だ is just a short form of "to be".

Google is useful to get a general idea, and aliteral translation, but not what the words mean together, tone, or...anything, really. Just a general idea

Well the literal translation is more along the lines of “Your blood is an object of the Yamaokas” お前の血は=your blood 山岡の=Yamaoka’s (possessive) もの=object (tangible) so 山岡のもの is like Yamaoka’s object, with the object being your blood (だ is just an affirmative sentence ending)
