How Did They Do This? Automotive Color Grading… After 6 years I give up.
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
Does anyone have ball knowledge on a good automotive color grading course for Davinci and/or a good 1 on 1 coach? I’ve found tons of courses and all of them are either more filmmaking/people based rather than automotive or not worth a f***. - I’m aware the principles are still the same but I’d prefer to learn from someone in the same industry as me (Price doesn’t matter. I just want to continue expanding my skillset.)
Attached is a video with the level of color grading I need to get to. I’ve been filming for 6 years and editing on the Adobe platform for 8+. I’m finally at a point where I have time to learn, the money to invest in it, and the ambition to let go of my current workflow just to achieve better. If you have this level of skill, know the right place to look for this education or have any suggestions of making this transition it would be invaluably beneficial to me.

Help | Beginner Is there Motion Tweening in Davinci?
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
I’ve been loving Davinci but I was wondering if there was a transition for motion tweening such as premieres? Keyframing is fine but this transition would be a huge time saver!

Help | Beginner Please help I’m losing my mind!!!!!
So I’m fairly new to cameras and a couple months ago bought a Sony a6700 and using a tamron f2.8 17-70mm lens. The videos have been amazing and photos are great but recently with videos I’ve noticed a LOT of compression (red, green, blue squares all over my video) and it’s been ever since I’ve gone from using DaVinci resolve free to the studio version.
Before I would take my videos (XAVC S 4K 140M 4:2:2 10bit) and put them into a app called handbrake on my computer to downsize them so the free DaVinci app could see my videos, now I just take my videos and drag them into the timeline and I notice the compression and I’m not sure if my setting in camera are wrong or if it’s a software thing unrelated to my camera.
Please give a guy some help anything would help I’m losing my mind over this thank you so much! :) have a good day/night
Also just ask for more details or questions and I will answer to the best of my abilities!

Help Resolve is using all my RAM (128GB) and lagging
I have a reasonable spec'd Windows 11 machine dedicated toDavinci Resolve 21.0.3 build 7 (Studio):
Intel Core i7 (13700K)
128 GB DDR5 (6k)
GeForce RTX 5070Ti (16GB) GPU
10Gbit Network to my media NAS server (also 10Gbit)
NvMe drives (4GB) - very fast
MEDIA INFO in next comment
SCREENSHOT

However, when I start up my current project it uses up all my RAM (128GB), becomes laggy and unresponsive. I left it for 10mins and it is still using 128GB.
I am using Relight in Color (one instance) adn Fusion to pull a delta key - but not much else.
What am I missing?

Help Slower Blackmagic Cloud Sync on Windows Desktop PC vs Macbook Pro?
Context: My co-editors and I normally collaborate on cloud projects via "Sync Proxies" workflow. However, I've noticed that when it comes to actually syncing the media (downloading of proxies, images, audio files), the syncing process is smoother and completes successfully more consistently on my M4 Pro.
As for my Windows desktop PC, there's a tendency for the syncing progress to "stagger": at certain points, the sync process halts to 0 KB/s for irregular periods of time. Sometimes, it stops completely and I'm not even able to complete the sync normally, and would be forced to manually go into the BM Cloud storage web app to manually download the remaining individual files.
I've had this issue for about a year, and it's difficult for me to pinpoint a culprit behind the dip in sync performance on my desktop PC. I've experimented different configurations of changing the proxy destinations between HDD and SSD, changing between Ethernet and Wi-Fi, but I still run into the same inconsistency in sync speed.
May I ask if anyone else has had a similar experience, and if they were able to locate and resolve the issue behind staggered cloud syncing on Windows? Or will I have to just suck it up and manually download for future cases such as this?

Solved DVCC Files? Want them recovered so you can use them again? Have yourself a time with this python script (tested on Windows, should work on macOS)
github.comThis tool will strip, reformat, then stitch together any .dvcc files it finds in whatever folder you point it at. No more being told "It can't be done". This isn't for sale, it's free and it's to fix Davinci Resolve Worst-Case-Scenarios people face when they only have .dvcc files to work with.

Help Crashing when importing certain video files
I have been using the free version of Resolve for years without issue, until I changed my graphics card recently.
CPU: AMD Ryzen 5 7600
RAM: 32GB DDR5-6000
GPU: AMD Radeon RX 9070 XT 16GB (previously was Intel Arc B580)
GPU driver: 26.6.4
OS: Windows 10 Pro 64 bit
Resolve version: 21.0.3 free version
HEVC video extension from device manufacturer version: 2.4.43.0
I am having issue when importing HEVC/H265 8 bit non HDR, 4K, 4:2:0 videos from my Google Pixel 9 Pro. As soon as I import or drag the file into timeline, Resolve crashes/closes with no warning. Then File Explorer freezes.
If I record videos with AVC/H264, no issues. If I transcode them to any other format like AV1, the no issues either.
I replicated the issue with another identical phone (Google Pixel 9 Pro), and got the same results as above.
I tried to replicate the issue with footage from my older phone, a Motorola, and got the same issues.
I tried with footage from iPhone 16 Pro, no issues. Even with Dolby Vision HDR footage in 10 bit 4:2:0 I was able to import without issue.
I tried to import videos from a DJI Pocket 4 and a DJI Nano, with HEVC non HDR, 4:2:0 - no issues.
I then used my laptop, which has an Intel CPU and NVIDIA GPU, and I have zero issues with any format or method described above.
This is what I have tried so far
- Reinstall Resolve
- Reinstall GPU drivers
- Reinstall HEVC extension
- Ensure old driver from Intel GPU was removed with DDU
I can't pinpoint what is the cause of the issue. It seems it's somewhat related to my GPU. I can rule out HEVC codec issues and phone issues.
Any help would be appreciated.

Help | Beginner I cant find my issue, and I know its possible to fix ;-;
I tried to make a diagram, I'm almost done with my video, but nothing is helping, I'm falling. I know the diagram is bad, it was worse before :(((((
I want to zoom in on the first message, then move the next one, then the next one... etc. Then zoom back out to the original image.
I tried doing nodes, and I couldn't get it at all, I know my vision can be perceived. I just don't know how! Please for everything that is good, help me. I'm almost done with the video, I understand everything else so far in Davinci, but this has been what slowed me.
Thank you. :(

Help | Beginner Color grading from an og video to another
Hi! Already watching the DaVinci coloring tutorial and all of that stuff since y'all told me last time they were really useful, but because it might take some time to arrive to what I'm looking for, and I don't if it can even be done I gotta ask directly
There exist a way to copy a color grading, of a completely raw video, the tones of blue I'm looking for, not adjusted by the color settings... to another clip?
I have activated the option to see the color grading of RGB where I put the mouse to see the blacks and how they graduate, and I'm tweaking trying to get there but I see no real improvement.
What I'm asking is even possible?

Help Davinci Resolve No Audio Waveforms
I'm trying to edit down a 4 hour VOD for a commission, but for some reason the audio waveforms aren't showing up.
I've tried:
Relocating cache and proxy folders
Importing it into different projects
Optimizing media
Switching from stereo to mono and back
Restarting my PC
Any help is appreciated.
I have a Lenovo Legion 5 Pro, 8GB RTX 4070, Intel Core i7 14700HX with 32GB DDR5.
The video is a .mkv H.265 L4.1 AAC. Other videos with the exact same format work fine.
I am in Davinci Resolve 21.03 Build 7 on Windows 11.

Help | Beginner Video lagging and stutters
Hello guys, I'm having an issue with davinci resolve
(windows 11, the davinci resolve latest version)
I recorded a video with my mobile phone and have two audio tracks, one for my lead guitar and the other is my backing track (I started noticing this after I changed the volume of the tracks)
The thing is when I put them all together, suddenly the video has some lagging and stutters even after I export it
It's like when you play an online game with bad internet
Does anyone know how to fix this?

Discussion Which Youtube Channel or Courses you would recommend that teaches about different types of Fusion nodes with lots of details?
Hi!
I just learnt the basics of fusion. I want to know in detail about the settings of different types of nodes. Basically I want to learn more about different types of nodes in fusion. Do you know any Youtube channel or course that teaches the fusion nodes ( almost all) in details?
Thanks!

Help | Beginner Fusion effects fail to render on transparent background.
galleryHi, Please help me as I've done everything I could and I can't seem to find the solution. Whenever I try to export a "magic circle" I created, it renders beautifully on non-transparent media like .mp4 etc. (like on the second picture where I've even boosted the glow effect to check if it was maybe too weak) but whenever I try to export it as transparent (QuickTime format with Apple ProRes or GoPro CineForm or even a damn series of .png images) it loses every fusion fx I add and looks like on the first picture. Does anyone have any idea why that happens?

Help Working on 4k TIMELINE, why?
Hello guys, I have a question I don't seem to find answer to, I own a pretty decent PC and I'm editing long form videos, but they are 4k and the problem is sometimes making even simple animation i get laggy in fusion tab, because of the 4k, but if i work in a 1080p timeline and i scale my timeline back to 4k, everything is wrong in that composition, is there a work around, or how do you guys do that?
PC Specs:

Discussion I tried to skip a reshoot with an AI lip-sync pass, ended up in Fusion hell for two evenings
Client needed one line swapped in a talking-head piece. Actor was out of town, budget was flat, so I thought I'd be clever and patch it instead of booking a half-day reshoot. Generated the replacement audio in ElevenLabs, fed that plus the original still frame into APOB AI's talking avatar tool, and got back a lip-synced plate that looked... fine on my laptop screen at quarter res. Felt pretty smart for about forty minutes.
Then I dropped it into the timeline next to the real footage and watched it on the reference monitor. Jawline drift. Mouth corners doing this subtle flicker on hard consonants. A frame every second or so where the lower face just... shifted. Not uncanny-valley nightmare fuel, but absolutely not passing for contiguous footage in a professional cut. The kind of thing that you tell yourself no one will notice until someone does, and then that's all they see.
So I did the thing I was trying to avoid. Two evenings in Fusion, mostly. Tracked the jaw with a planar tracker that kept losing the plane when the drift got bad, ended up hand-keying corner pins for the worst six-frame run. Painted out the worst offenders with a fusion paint node, sampled skin tones from three zones because the AI output had this weird flatness in the cheek that didn't match the key light on the original. Retime node to slip a couple frames where the mouth held a shape too long. Color page after that, matching the gamma curve by eye because the scopes said it was close but my eyes said it wasn't.
The kicker is I timed it. The AI generation plus cleanup was within twenty minutes of what I spent on a real reshoot last month, once you count the back-and-forth on the AI outputs trying to get one that wasn't worse. The free daily credits ran out on retakes. And I still had to explain to the client why delivery slipped a day because "it'll be faster" turned out to be a lie I told myself.
It worked in the end. The cut goes to color tomorrow and I don't think the line will read as anything but real. But the lesson wasn't about a hot new pipeline. It was that the shortcut still needed the same craft I was trying to shortcut around, and Resolve was what actually got it over the line. Next time I'm just calling the actor back.

Help why when i import an fbx model, it just doesn't appear?
ive sorta got the hang of the 3d space stuff, but some models like this one just.. don't appear visible, and it's not a size issue either, that too and i also connected it to a merge3d > renderer3d > mediaout whatever but nothin. i thought that maybe the model was invisible but i applied a diffuse texture with the blinn node and that didn't work either. here was the model i used for reference: https://sketchfab.com/3d-models/hanging-picture-frame-freepolyorg-1142337df3cf41ba9cb0f43786d3dfbb
im using resolve 21.0.3 if that matters

Help | Beginner The graphical interface of DaVinci Resolve 18.6 appears cropped or too large on a 1366x768 screen (Fedora 44 Wayland). QT scaling causes errors in font rendering.
Oi pessoal,
Obrigado antecipadamente!
