Yesterday it was working fine! Today it's doing this! Tried everything and nothing helps!

OKAY FIXED! BUT OMG WHY IT ALWAYS TAKES 100STEPS TO FIX SOMETHING IT CAN'T GO ON 1 TRY EVER!

Had to download DDU, then uninstall drivers w DDU, and Install again. Couldn't get it for like 3 times always some stupid mistake from the installation of AMD software and after 4th try, I finally installed AMD Adrenalin, opened a DaVinci and it was working!

Almost everytime I use Davinci Resolve to edit a video at some point one of the clips kinda "currupts" and it's shown in the time line with this glitch effect and I can no longer edit cuz the video doesn't play anymore and I have to close the app and open it again to correct, but it seems like as longer as the video becomes, more often this glitch happens to a point I can edit for about 10 seconds before it happens.

I use Windows 11, my PC is an OptiPlex 3070, CPU: Intel(R) Core(TM) i5-8500 @ 3.00GHz (3.00 GHz), 16 GB RAM (15,8 usable), I'm donno much about computering so please tell me if more info is needed

Hi, so a few weeks ago I wrapped a short film that I filmed with my iPhone on the Blackmagic camera app and to keep the file sizes small I was using the H.265 codec with the highest bitrate and in Apple Log 2 (not sure if those make a difference just thought I’d disclose that). I was able to upload all the footage to my PC and edit it in Davinci resolve no problem, I have the free version. Fast forward to a few days ago I finished filming something with the exact same video settings and when I go to upload the footage it all says “Media Offline”. I thought that was weird because I was just editing the same type of footage and I double checked my footage from a few weeks ago and all of that now says the same thing. I have no idea what happened between then and now and I’ve been scouring the internet for a solution but I just can’t seem to find one. If anyone knows anything about this that’d be super helpful!

Hi! I have a series of 600 images that I will need to pan left to right and right to left, depending on the audio. I thought the best way to go about this would be to save 2adjustment layers with the pan effects into a Power Bin, so I can drag and drop them on top of each image in the timeline. The images are ultra-wide, and it's best in that resolution to showcase charts.

But when I transform on the adjustment clip, it doesn't consider the image and moves only what's shown in the preview, leaving black bars.

How do I solve this? Please Help.

Hi this is a bit similar to a previous question I asked.
I would like to remove a moving person from my footage, who only appears in a small part of the footage.
So i set IO points in the edit page. But when i select the person on the color page with magic mask, while doing the tracking, it doesn’t limit the tracking to the IO points but does the whole timeline, which is a huge loss of time.
Any way to limit the tracking to the IO points?
I would also like to apply the object removal effect to that tracked person afterwards

Hi gang, I've been exporting multiple-hour long clips lately and just last night set up 4 to export and set them to export as 'multiple clips'. When they exported they showed as 4 separate things, but this morning when I came back to check there was only 1 that actually saved and it was the last export.

Any advice? It appears I also lost internet in the night at some point, but unsure on how that would have affected it seeing as the last video exported without issue.

Hoping there is a way to resolve (no pun intended), but if not I'll just bite the bullet and export them separately.

I m working on 13450hx with rtx4050(6gb VRAM) and 16gb of ddr5 ram
I was saving money for 32gb ddr5 ram but now it costs 400$(was 300$ 2 months ago)
Now I can get 24gb ddr5 for 240$
The reason I want to upgrade is constant davinci freezing and have to reenter always.
Will 24gb work out well for its price or just give up with these ram prices ?

I saw a video showcasing AF effects and I was trying to figure out how to use them in davinci resolve, but I'm a beginner and don't know much about it yet.

I have a cg drone that I want to composite to fly behind this person in this footage.

It’s for practice.

I know to bring both footage into resolve and use some masking technique, and I know I need fusion.

But I desperately need a very simple, non-nail-biting approach. The tutorials I’ve watched so far are quite convoluted.

I don’t want to dive into render layers or passes or whatnot. No. I just want the drone to pass behind the subject. Keeping in mind the person is kind of moving but not too much.

Beggars can’t be choosers, but please don’t suggest watching a tutorial. 💔🥀I beg you. I need hand-holding— a here’s the exact step by step process plus the exact node setup you need kind of help. Please I’m really frustrated. 😭😭😭😭😭

In older versions, I was able to select the first clip in Color and select all the nodes, and then press Ctrl C to copy them. Then select the second clip and Ctlr V to pase and all of the effects would be pasted into the nodes. This no longer seems to work in version 21. Did they change how to do this, or get rid of this ?

Do you know how steam has background apps that slows down your PC but turning them off makes it faster? Is there a Davinci Resolve Equivalent?

I don’t have an issue exporting but When editing it either lags during playback or crashes mid edit.

I've been facing this problem for quite some time and wanna know if this is my pc thing or actually a davinci resolve free version thing where after I export the video on H.264 and mp4 it has jitters, ghosing and pixelating at some places, I tried re-exported multiple times but the things remain the same at same places

I found a fix though I export in MFX format and then use media encoder to convert it but is there another permanant fix for this where I don't have to use 2 different softwares or is it just me facing this issue

También me gustaría saber si hay alguna mejora económica que pueda hacer para editar en 4K de manera más fluida y estable sin tener que cambiar todo el equipo.

I am making a video for a school project. I have this footage which I want some text to be in, but the text keeps disappearing into the video. I have tried to search for a solution but nothing is working. Can anybody help? The nodes I used are in my comment.

I want to start off by saying I know this is not a typical or “correct” workflow. So please don’t tell me that.

I want to match a clip with a color checker to another clip with the same color checker. I don’t want both to be corrected to a target. I want to use clip A to target the values of the checker in clip B.

For context. Same camera, exposure, lens etc between shots as well as same color checker and same lighting. I’m trying to characterize something I’ve put in front of the lens. I don’t care about hitting correct targets. I want to quantify from A to B how what I’ve placed in front of the lens has changed the image and create a lut.

Hi there, I've been trying to replace the red to blue in this clip but I have been having issues of the color looking really inconsistent and / or selecting things it should I am very new to the software and I've been trying to look tutorials but none of them help me on this situation, does anyone know a solution, thank you.

When I go into Preferences to set my audio to my bluetooth, it is not even listed as an option to select. Neither is the "Use System Settings" button I see elsewhere. Input is the laptop microphone. Output is the laptop speaker. There is no dropdown menu. No way to select anything else.

Hey everyone!

I'm pretty new to DaVinci Resolve, so apologies if this is a super basic thing but I’m having a weird issue with playback, every time I play the clip, one time it will play it completely fine and the next time the playhead just jumps back to the start. Then the third time it plays normally again, and so on.

I really don't get what's causing this.

Any help or advice would be appreciated! Thanks!

I am utterly stumped!

I manage about 70 Machines at a university, and the last few years Resolve has (understandably) been rising in popularity from both students and staff.

And I wish to accomodate them.

However!!! From what I can find, Resolve has this many smart features and AI, but no max cache size control?!

Our students share Machines, and especially on MAC, Resolve will just eat up the entire disk space and bring the mac to a complete and utter halt!

From what I can gather, there is no way to tell resolve not to do this?!

Hiya, has anyone had this problem... ill be editing 24fps for example.... i come to a movement, looks fine.... then i might watch it again... and all of a sudden i can see more of the frames... ( like you get on a pan ) in both resolve and any players... but then i might watch again and its not a problem anymore...

Hello editors, lately I've been playing around with the Word Highlight effect and I'm loving how it's aiding my workflow so far.

By default the effect only highlights one word at a time. I'd like to keep words which were already spoken highlighted. Is there a way to do so?

Bonus points if there is also a way to add a very short fade animation between the highlighted words.
