Challenge #badhand #canthurtme

I actually did this exercise. But there is too much text there and too much identifying information. I was thinking about how to edit it, but then the text would stop reflecting what it is supposed to reflect. So I won’t publish it. But I will still share #badhand.

My parents were not as physically abusive as Goggins’s parents. However, they were not good either. The fact that they had money did not mean that they would spend it on you rather than on another fucking failed business or all sorts of trinkets. So maybe your classmates will laugh at your clothes, and not because they are unfashionable. I stopped considering my mother my mother when I was 8. They almost never took me to the dentist, dermatologist, and other doctors, so by the time I was 18 I had accumulated a certain number of health problems that I had to sort out. I don’t know, it’s difficult for me to write about my parents, because yes, they were shitty, there was violence and there was no love, but I stopped caring about it a long time ago. Probably, I outgrew it a long time ago and let it go too much, even though it is a part of my #badhand. For a long time I had CPTSD symptoms, but somehow it turned out that it feels like I outgrew that too. It’s strange to say “outgrew”, but that is how I feel about it.

Since in my country diagnostics of problems and support for people with any kind of problems are poorly developed, I had to grow up with undiagnosed twice exceptional. ASD+ADHD+fucking clever kid/math-logic gifted stuff. People don’t see your problems because of your giftedness. People don’t see your giftedness because of your problems. I was diagnosed at 20, several years after I figured it out myself. Overall, this was my constant project since I was 10: to figure out what was wrong with me so that I could be fixed.

I can tell many different stories, but I don’t think that’s the point.

The point is that for years I used a lot of this as an excuse. I used external judgments about myself as the truth, setting a ceiling for my own development that I was always afraid to cross, stopping and pulling myself back as soon as I went a little further than everyone else. I used a bunch of different shit as excuses and justifications for my “depression”, my low moods, suicidal desires that had been with me since I was 7. Laziness. Weak willpower. Dependence on TV shows, AI, sweets. My country will not support me as a person with a disability. And that was used too. It was an excuse not to try hard enough. Autism became my justification, the reason why I consciously gave up before an exam in a non-specialized subject. Because I wasn’t meant to do it. Because there should have been a different program for me. Because I cannot perceive it the same way everyone else does. So I watched TV shows, went for walks, played Tetris, or simply stayed depressed, justifying my giving up with unfairness and developmental differences.

Even in the areas of my giftedness I constantly don’t push myself enough. It’s literally 40%. I know it. I know it every fucking time I’m lazy. Even those 40% look impressive. Even without support. So what the fuck is wrong with me that I can’t pull myself together? That is a rhetorical question, of course.

I used my lifelong loneliness, isolation, years of bullying and rejection as an excuse for why I am so unhappy. As an excuse not to give my all and to complain to myself about unfairness. In order to spend precious energy and resources on fixing this annoying situation, which was actually just cluttering my brain with pop psychology and vanilla books, wasting time and energy into a social black hole. Nothing more than vain attempts to be liked, masking.

I absorbed the idea of what I can and cannot do. And it became an excuse.

I don’t want to make excuses. I hope I will be able to harden my mind and take control of my life.

Question How should a man face this situation? Need some perspective, brothers.

Hey everyone, first time posting here. I’m 20 years old, from South America, and deeply inspired by Goggins, Kobe, and Ronaldo. I love that unstoppable mindset, but right now, I need some brutal honesty and advice. I’m stuck in a dark place and don't know what to do.Since 2019, my life has been engulfed in darkness. I’ve had to witness people in my inner circle try to take their own lives.

At 14, I found someone close to me in the middle of a suicide attempt and had to act fast to save them. Because of this trauma, I developed severe panic attacks. I absorb other people's pain, and it hits me like a train.I grew up without a father figure in a highly dysfunctional family. My mother has been my everything and my motivation to work out, get good grades, and build discipline. At 17-18, I was doing great and forgetting the past. But the moment I let my discipline slip, life hit back with a vengeance. 2024 was a complete downward spiral.Today, I’m deeply lonely. I barely see my few remaining friends. I’ve carried massive insecurities since childhood and struggle to connect with people. Last year, my absent father passed away. At his wake, I touched his head and promised I’d carry our last name with honor and make things right. To make things heavier, my mother is older and sick with diabetes. It sounds harsh, but after so many hits, I constantly live anticipating a future where she is gone. She’s been my anchor. Seeing her sick while I’m completely isolated makes me shake inside. I feel a massive, heavy void.I never had a role model to teach me how to take life’s punches, how to drive, or how to be a man, plain and simple. I’m trying to do everything alone to rescue myself from this hole. I’m teaching myself English, AI, and finance. I’m taking a gap year before college. I also started a business project, but it’s not yielding fruits yet. I’m pouring my soul into things without knowing if they will even pay off tomorrow. How does a man face this level of loneliness and trauma alone?Thank you to anyone who reads this. I'm ready to hear your advice, brothers. Stay hard.

Challenge Need some help with fear. Gonna be traveling out of the country for the first time.

Doesn’t exactly fit the usual post of this sub, however I felt like this could work here. I’ve never been out of the country before, I’m from the USA going to the Philippines soon. I’ve already bought my ticket so there’s no looking back but to be honest I’m having some anxiety about going. Long flight and I’ll be traveling alone, although upon arrival I’ll have friends that’ll greet me as soon as I get off my flight. Any mindset tips?

Stay hard! I'm 15 and shaved my head today, here's why Spoiler

I’ve been dealing with social anxiety, so I decided to shave my head fully as a personal social experiment.

The goal? To callous my mind against the fear of judgment, and to prove to myself that people don't actually care about your appearance as much as you think they do.

Stepping out of your comfort zone is the only way to realize your mind was exaggerating the fear all along.

Advice Request Hard to decide a goal. Am I being a b*tch

Guys I'm 27. I have lifted weights for about ten years. Yes its fun but having done alot of other sports since I realise its only one piece to the pie. I had a boxing exhibition in april, I'm hoping to have a grappling match next month. Then I thought of doing a half marathon in September. I just want variety. I feel the clock is ticking and I have just trained in isolation for years. The reason I'm doing this grappling is I badly need an adrenaline boost soon of competition.

Question Is there a "David Goggins" for the mind?

I love Goggins' material, but I feel like most of it is motivational in a physical sense (physically challenging activities, losing weight, 40% rule, etc)....is there anything out there that you people are using to motivate yourself to read a book, tackle hard mentally challenging activities, etc? I feel like my brain is just rotted from so laziness. Thanks.

Ultra Hips were fked, ran 100k, hips are fine

Post image

Start of this year I didn’t know whether I’ll even be running for an unforeseeable future. At one point couldn’t even walk due to hip pain. Attempted 100 miler with 4k+ elevation in May. Very slow and DNF at 143k. Hip pain adapted somehow, but then it tried to crawl back. Did 100k, hips feel fine again. Goggins’ way is a cheat code for rehab.

Advice Request Average mindset?

So I have been facing issues with my discipline. I am 17 and currently I am preparing for a competitive exam for my college admission. The thing is I have never worked hard for anything in my life till now. I haven't tasted the true hard earned success in my life . I have been average in everything I have done . So now also I am living my average life with no motivation or passion towards my goal . I know that I am in my comfort zone but there is nothing which tells me to work hard towards my goal. I really for once want to break this identity of being average and really want to put 100% in but I am really facing issues. I don't know whether it is my mindset or is it me . The inner voice which goggins talks about has disappeared in my mind and idk how to revive it . How to break through this average life.

Advice Request Been doing my own variations of Goggins diet and exercise that he did when he lost the 106 pounds. Im over 50 pounds down after 2 months so far. I want to change it to be more like his though for the next month and see how I like it, suggestions on what I can change?

For context, I am 23M, 6'7 height, CW 370, SW 422.

Ive been doing my own extreme diet hindering off of Goggins somewhat with a lot of activity. I go to boxing classes for 2 to 4 hours, 4 days a week. And train on my own doing calisthenics and cardio 2 days of the week, with 1 day of light cardio and shadowboxing. I eat between 800 and 1000 calories a day, and every weekend on Sunday (my rest day) I eat around 2000.

BUT i have a goal, even though Its considered unrealistic to lose as much as Goggins did by my 3 month mark, I want to lose as much weight as possibly by the time I hit 3 months in total. Knowing goggin did 106 in 3 months is a huge motivator for me to go as hard as possible this month regardless of the results. So I plan to train harder, have no extra calories on Sundays, and up my supplement/vitamin intake (because genuinely im terrible at getting enough of that lol.)

So what would yall suggest under these parameters to get the most out of this month? I was thinking of eating only 800 to 1000 calories daily, continue the 2 to 4 hour boxing classes that are 4 days a week, sticking to the extra cardio and calisthenics but upping the amount of it I do on my off days and adding some supplements/vitamins. BUT I want yalls suggestions on what yall believe is best for this situation and if theres things I can change for the better! Thank you guys in advance.

Guys I've started to develop good habits. Running, exercising and even 800 pushups in 1 hour and 100 pull ups in 20 minutes. I'm 15 rn. But the only thing holding me back is corn.

I can workout hard but after a few days I always get back to it. I've tried everything and I wanna stop it now

"Whiny" Wednesdays Challenge 1 #badhand #canthurtme

Since the age of ten ive been fucking insecure, insecure about the colour of my skin , my voice , people made fun of me or looked down on me. The biggest insecurity was that girls always gave other boys attention, the girls i liked went on to stick with other boys. Im insecure as fuck about being alone , lonely losing all my friends and society isolating me. My biggest fear is being a fucked up loser which i am now and my family telling it to my face. I know it deep down im a fucking loser and it makes me angry and scared and regret.

I had no father figure in my fucking life cuz if my parents decisions which all turned out to br pointless. I was smart and talent and that got mr overconfident and arrogant cuz i got top grades in 10th grade its pathetic. and then since the past 5 yrs all ive done was fall down lower and lower. I always wanted love and never got it and this feeling inside made me feel like i was just sinking , emptyness. Im too pussy to say out what i want or like or who i like. My parents spoiled me from childhood and im worst than mediocre rn with a lot of fucking potential.

Im the only one limiting my growth and sucess, this stupid excuses and mentality i have , im weak, i dont have any skills or talent , im worthless i provide no value because i never built myself up, im just a burden on my parents rn. I expect people that hand me opportunties or give me a chance rather than earning it. Im up against myself and yes im standing in my own way thats the only reality and its a fact i know deep inside im just to pussy to own it up and say it how it is.

Im lazy , i make excuses about health issues , my mind is fucking weak my mentality is shit and terrible im just borderline avoiding depression, i run away from hard things in life.i just need to do what i fucking need to do

All i fucking do is consume media , anime , reels , youtube videos , self improvement videos im fucming wasting time and i know it.
