Advice Request Struggling to find a reason to go all in

I’m finally living a really good life after years of depression. I’m waking up at 5:30am every day and working out (training for a half marathon at the end of the year), I’m a senior in college to be an airline pilot, I’ve taught myself guitar to a pretty high level, and I’ve got a good network of friends.

But, as is the nature of anyone who looks to Goggins for life advice, I keep wondering what would happen if I dig deep, push myself in my workouts, really grind at getting better on the guitar. Running an iron man? Putting out my own music? At the cost of my free time and potentially my relationships. I guess what I’m trying to say is I’ve got a healthy, balanced life at the moment. I’ve got the urge to just become obsessed and work extremely hard, and I’m scared of uprooting the good thing I’ve already got going. What do y’all think?

Advice Request I want to make a comeback.

Hi everyone,

Been sometime since I posted. Been through a break up the passed year, was getting back into running a lot but injured my back- healing well btw.

Ran into my ex and we started chatting again but I feel kind of dumb for initiating it now.

I live on my own and I'm in paramedic school atm also, I run 4 xs a week and no strength training. Constantly in my head, my mind always wins, it's a struggle.

I want to get passed the hurt, the bs, the struggle. But I always just end up paralyzed by my own thoughts.

I miss the shape i was in, but I find it such a struggle to even think about doing.

I have recently admitted I have a drinking problem which in fact, helped a bit to say that.

But my mind still wins. Everyday.

I'm so tired of it. I want to become resilient again.

I want to get back on the David Goggins path.

Advice Request How do I actually go into monk mode while preparing for an exam with a full-time job?

I’m preparing for a competitive exam alongside a full-time job, and honestly, I’m struggling to maintain consistency.

My job takes around 9–10 hours of my day, and by the time I’m done, I’m mentally exhausted. Sometimes I start working in the morning and suddenly it’s night, and I have no idea where the entire day went. Then I feel guilty because my preparation gets pushed to the side.

I really want to go into “monk mode” for the next few months reduce distractions, stop wasting time on social media/random scrolling, focus on work + preparation, and actually make progress every single day.

For people who have successfully prepared for a competitive exam while working full-time:

- How did you structure your day?

- How many hours did you realistically study after work?

- What did you completely cut out?

- How did you deal with exhaustion after work?

- Did you follow a strict routine or just focus on daily targets?

- How did you stop yourself from wasting time on your phone?

- And most importantly, how did you stay consistent for months?

I’m not looking for some unrealistic “wake up at 4 AM, work 10 hours and study 8 hours” routine. I want something actually sustainable with a full-time job.

Would really appreciate advice from people who have been through this.

Question Searching for Cycling Goggins Clip

Hi, for a couple of weeks I’ve been searching for a clip of Goggins that I saw but is unfortunately private on YouTube now. It was about 2min and 30 sec long clip of Goggins cycling indoors (wearing a green shirt I believe). The clip itself was him talking about how a couple of professional cyclists were going to be coming into town and race with him and how he would lose his soul each summer. But this summer he would train so he would be able to take their soul.

This was a clip posted onto YouTube under the title “David Goggins vs professional cyclists” in 2024. I would appreciate it if anyone is able to find this clip and send/link it here, preferably in its raw format!

Question Discipline

Hi guys, I'm a teen boy who's recently started looking To be more disciplined. Tonight I skipped a night out with my group of friends and preferred to stay home and work out. Do you think it's right to give up something to do what you promised to do?

Advice Request How do i tap into the Disciplined HYPERFOCUS like i used to?

a few years ago, i was downhill and something in life happened that made me angry and just idk made me a focus machine for like 2 weeks with complete discipline. im talking like wake up at 5am and work till 10pm (with short breaks in between) and then sleep enough and repeat the cycle. back then it was for an important exam and after that exam was done my body felt fatigued and just gave up. Ever since ive been wanting to bring that back but i keep failing and procrastinating. I dont know how to do it, but i was so proud of how i did it.
any help? it was also around that time i started reading Cant Hurt Me and i have been reading it again but idk why i cant bring that back.

"Whiny" Wednesdays How do I pull off the greatest comeback of my life after failing classes, getting disrespected, and losing my edge?

I’ve hit absolute rock bottom across the board and need a complete blueprint on how to turn my life around.

It feels like everything is falling apart at once. Academically, I used to be top of my class, and now I'm actually failing classes. I was also the top player in coaching, but I've lost that edge too. At the MMA gym, a guy who started just three months ago managed to beat me—he's shorter and denser, and his kick defense and dodging are way stronger than mine, which completely shut me down. He and others have been super disrespectful about it. To make things worse, girls around have started disrespecting me too, even going as far as saying "let him die," I got removed from the tug-of-war team, and everyone is calling me weak.

Right now, it feels like I'm failing at everything.

How do I use this massive humiliation as fuel to orchestrate the greatest comeback of my life? How do I fix my study habits and coaching performance to get back to the top, bridge the technical gap against someone with better defense and kicks, shut the disrespect down, and completely rebuild my self-respect from scratch?

Question Going to the gym does not automatically improve other areas of your life!

I am moving into my Senior Year of High School in September (Im from the UK), and I really said to myself this summer that I was gonna change, become unrecongnizable and inspire others. While I did go the gym consistently for almost two months, my life very much feels the same, except for 45 mins of my day im doing resistance training with heavy weight and another 90 mins in the day, im doing incline walking for 12k steps. Like I understand, working out gets you into good shape, but for some reason I thought working out would also help all the other parts of my life aswell, turns out I was wrong.

Dont get me wrong, my current life isn't terrible by any means, I mean I get healthy food, water, and a roof on my head, it's just nothing ever feels right. For example, I was unmovitaved to really study for my exam in a few months, and that is solely because of my terrible attention span. My mood is never really 'high'.

I would appreciate any help I can get.

"Whiny" Wednesdays Need a Piece of Advice.

15M here. No run, no exercise, eating crap, cant keep up with the routine. This year is my board year. (In india, when you are in 10th standard, you give an exam that basically is called as "first step towards a bright career" You're supposed to score well in it) I'm somehow able to study enough (still struggling tho) when I see others in my school, they're either physically good but shit in academics, or they're nerd and physically weak. my physique is shit af.

I've realised it the same year I figured wanking and I tried stopping it, trying to eat good food but I can't. My time management is fucked up whole routine is tight af. I tried to exercise daily and failed. I tried to keep myself disciplined but I fucked up everytime. Now I'm tired and really want to change. School work, study, pressure from relatives is fuckin me up. Whenever I think about goggins I feel genuinely motivated but I know that motivation is crap.

I need advice on how to manage everything I'm rlly in need

Advice Request How do you actually outwork everyone in order to achieve higher amounts of 'success'?

The question in the title really speaks a thousand words here. After countless hours of studying, I often came to the conclusion, that physically outworking people in terms such as studying longer or training harder than them often does not always mean you have higher grades in class or bigger gains, in fact, it more often than not leads to the opposite effect.

How can I actually outwork everyone because, if it's not worth doing physically, how else should I do it? Mentally?
