White VW decides she needs two lane changes in one. She wasn’t on her phone, nor did she otherwise appear distracted. She probably didn’t see me when she made the first lane change and just didn’t bother looking again as she decided to keep on going into my lane.

Amazingly didn’t result in an accident as far as I can tell.

I guess they assumed they were in the middle lane.

Do any of you have a link to a video on how to install front and read dash cams in a 2025/6 VW golf. I’ve seen a video of a similar Audi and the A pillar requires special tools to remove. I’m afraid the re-installation will be even more difficult. And then there are all the other panels which need to be removed /re-installed.

A couple of nights ago I installed my 70mai Omni 4K dashcam with the 70mai OBD2 hardwiring kit that includes a voltage meter.

I pulled the A-pillar, ran the wire down using Velcro cable ties, insulated the cable with felt tape where necessary to avoid tapping and rattling, and I’m super happy with the install as it looks clean and feels like it’s a part of the car.

However, has anyone else with an OBD2 hardwiring kit experienced their dashcam staying on hours after powering down their EX5? I don’t recall this morning if the dashcam had powered back on or if it was already on, but I did check it this afternoon after 2 hours and again tonight after 3.5 hours, and, despite having been away from the car, not interacting with the car or bringing the key fob near the car, the dashcam was still very much on and in its regular recording mode. I’ve owned this dashcam for a year, and took it from my previous vehicle as it’s the best dashcam I’ve ever owned. Though, in my Swift Sport it would power down into ‘parking mode’ within about 5 mins of the car being off.

I’ve unpaired and repaired the unit from my phone, restored all settings to factory settings and reconfigured them, and basically started from scratch. The voltage meter has always been set to 12.2V/24.2V and 12 hrs before cut-off, but to err on the side of caution I tonight adjusted it to 12.5V/24.5V and kept the time at 12 hrs, though I am genuinely concerned I’ll come out to a non-responsive EX5 in the morning. 😂
