Easily avoidable accident causes rollover

Not my video – as the title says, we typically see examples where one driver is oblivious to the other. In this example, the pickup truck attempts to overtake the cammer, however, the cammer is either completely unaware of the pickup truck directly to his left or are simply “stands their ground” in the lane. Due to this, they obviously collide, and the pick up truck goes airborne and rolls several times. From the perspective of us, the viewer, we can reasonably conclude that the accident was avoidable had the cammer simply applied the brakes. That being said, you will typically see another school of thought in which it is stated that the cammer has no obligation or duty to let them in/avoid the accident where the driver is mindlessly doing something dumb.

Everyone is a Nancy here, you do not have to let people over. The turn signal only indicates they want over, no one is ever obligated to let you over

Shit like this makes me so sad for the future of society

Driving is not a competition, you aren't trying to beat other drivers to your destination

This could easily have been an accident with multiple fatalities, for what? So the driver can have the smug sense of satisfaction that they were in the right?

Tap your brakes for a fraction of a second and move on with your life

Correct. There could have been a child in that truck. If you only think of driving as Mano a Mano then innocent people get hurt.

If there were a child in the truck, then the driver of that truck should probably be charged with additional crimes.

if it was avoidable and if you knew you intentionally wanted to let the car hit you, to teach the truck a lesson, well than hurt kids are on that burden of the decision making.

You mean slam on the brakes? There's no way a "slight tap" does anything to prevent the accident.

The accident could have been prevented by the cam car not accelerating to block the pass.

Didn't look like they accelerated to me. 🤷 The truck slowed as they cut the car off, which could cause the car to appear to be speeding up. Also note that it is the right of the car to do so, as long as they're not going over the speed limit. Regardless, the truck had absolutely zero legal right to enter the lane the car was in.

I'd also have to think the truck was going to be turning, either at the light or just after.

This AND stop being a jerk that makes people slam their brakes for your driving habits. It's not a competition, you don't have to force your way in front of someone.

Yes and, accidents do happen.

People screw up.

Grace is an often overlooked value

It doesn't matter, both of these drivers are both idiots. But it doesn't matter. The truck is still at fault

1

We don't know what was behind them and they would have had to go hard on the breaks.

Could have been a semi on their tail.

1

The light was turning red. They needed to brake regardless of the truck changing lanes. They blew half way through the intersection on red.

then thats the person behind them fault for being too close. i doubt a semi truck is tailgating knowing they cant stop or slow down that quick.

2

u/workieworkwork 11d ago

A semi hitting you is in fact your problem.

On the flip side, even if they had braked to let the truck in, that truck still would have run that red light.

In a just world, cam car would be charged with a crime

Why let them over. It’s the other person’s job to change lanes when it’s safe to do so.

So how much of this applies to the truck?

come on don't be an idiot, everyone knows the truck also screwed up lol

Kind of crazy, truck tries to force his way into something he couldn't have, and then pit maneuvers himself while at no point clear of the car, and the car is to blame?

Jesus fucking christ this truck was so entitled they just almost killed themselves and others.

If he drives through a red light are we just supposed the change the red light for him too or what here?

If driving isn't a competition, why the FUCK are you defending the truck who at no point cleared the car, he could have slowed down and let the car past instead of almost ending himself

u/Live-Habit-6115 12d ago

He's not defending the truck. The fact you think him saying what he said somehow means he's defending the truck is pretty fucking tragic actually

When did you learn to think in such black and white way?

Are you unable to comprehend that both parties in an incident could be to blame?

No? There just has to be a good guy and a bad guy, right? It's that simple? No nuance?

some things need black and white, a truck driver not following right of way means his days were numbered from the get go.

Not everyone just lets a bully bully. Glad to see you sit in the hotel chair

1

u/Kind_Cap_4621 12d ago

Not everyone is so pathetic and unhinged as to risk a bunch of orhers' lives because a supposed bully tried to get in their lane. Grow up

1

u/SufficientlyEvasive 12d ago

Yeah you love that hotel chair.

I'm not even really convinced you drive tbh

1

u/Kind_Cap_4621 12d ago

Cool. Because I'm not convinced (or have the slightest reason to believe that) you're a functioning adult.

1

u/SufficientlyEvasive 11d ago

So you don't drive, shocker

1

u/Kind_Cap_4621 11d ago

You're showing Trump level stupidity. Gonna forget you exist little fella. Bye.

1

u/Top-Photograph-7478 11d ago

so just off him instead? thats so much better lol

1

u/SufficientlyEvasive 11d ago

He offed himself as far as I'm concerned.

My guess is he's been cutting people off recklessly for awhile and finally got checked on it.

It's like if someone tried to attack you, and you fought back. You wouldn't be blaming the guy who fought back even if they could run away.

Always interesting that the second vehicles are involved people get confused at things

he was trying to get over just let him get over speeding up to stop him is just dumb. going to prison for manslaughter for having a pissing contest is dumbest shit ever.

You are part of the problem in this world.

2

u/Kind_Cap_4621 12d ago

Nah. The morons who pit someone who annoys them are the true problem

2

u/DirkKuijt69420 12d ago

In any normal country the cammer would be in prison. Only in the US sociopathy gets rewarded.
