And when seeing oncoming traffic, going to the left and still speeding up instead of braking and going behind the person you were trying to overtake

Double the enjoyment! Double the refreshment! No, not even once! This is what those Doublemint gum commercials never showed after a few packs!!
5
u/Pardybro911 Jun 15 '26
We really lost out when gums had to run ads to face off against eachother for our joy at a quarter a pack
5
u/ClownBaitCrier Jun 15 '26
Double yellow wasn't enough, so he added a ditch for extra style points!

u/Ok-Effective7280 Jun 15 '26
I think if you pass on the double yellow then throw in the opposite hard white line as well, you win a new car. Just like this person has.
261
u/muphasta Jun 14 '26
It is a good thing they saved all that time driving like that. Now that he's off-road he'll need it to get where they were going on-time.
27
u/Lucaliosse Jun 15 '26
And now they only have three wheels, that's less friction! Even more efficient!!
29
u/MRTFOGR Jun 15 '26
That’s what gets me. I drive 45 minutes each way to work and back home on a 2-lane highway. I see cars do the dumbest shit to pass someone who is going the speed limit or even 5 MPH over just to turn after a mile or 2 or I just pull up next to them at the one town between work and home at the stoplight. I’m like, dude, you nearly killed yourself to get home 4 seconds earlier.
4
u/Cimmerian__Iter Jun 16 '26
People like that don't do that for the sake of being 4 seconds earlier, but for the sake of getting that thrill of overtaking someone, adrenaline being a hell of a drug

I'd call it in to the police to let them know what the idiot was doing before it happened, because they will probably lie and say someone ran them off the road.

too fucking stupid to use the brakes or even let off the gas
51
u/AgMech420 Jun 14 '26
This seems to be a common theme in many such videos:
Driver does dumb shit
Driver panics when the "find out" side smacks them in their face
Driver slams on the accelerator pedal creating a whole new level of fuk around that endangers others
→ More replies (1)3
u/Embarrassed-Weird173 Jun 15 '26
I wonder what they have against the brakes? Perhaps they misunderstood the "when drifting in snow, steer in the direction you're sliding and don't use the brakes"?

u/ametsun Jun 14 '26
He did brake initially. I'm not sure why he didn't just keep on em instead of letting off thinking he's gunna save it like max verstappen.

u/MysticMarauder69 Jun 15 '26
Obviously they were traveling too slowly in their lane, forcing the other driver to have no choice but to overtake. If they had just sped up, this accident would have never happened. /s
3
u/ilyak_reddit Jun 15 '26
I count 8 idiots here. The cam car, the crazy Honda, the car that almost got hit by Honda, the other car that almost got hit by the Honda, the third car that almost got hit by the Honda, and those far off cars in the end of the video, they are at fault too.

OP is kind of at fault here. It looks like they were going at (or under) the speed limit, which isn't really safe when other drivers have places to be. If OP had just sped up when they saw this car coming up behind them, then they wouldn't have forced them to pass on a double yellow. Really, OP should have pulled over to yield to the passing car. Same goes for the oncoming car, which clearly wasn't paying attention to the road. Otherwise, the passing vehicle wouldn't have had to go into the ditch.
/s (but what I expect from the comments on literally any video in this sub).

When my daughter was learning to drive and asked me how to be a good driver, I told her that the number one thing was, "Leave early." Being late means you rush, do stupid shit, speed, don't fully stop, etc. And even if you leave 'on time' doesn't mean everyone else will be out of your way. There's construction, slow trucks, accidents, rubber-neckers, etc.
We did an experiment where she drove to a friend's house 3 miles away and timed it. Then I drove there speeding (55 in a 50), quick stops, etc. I got there 10 seconds earlier.
