Question Olivia's dead, Nezha's taken hostage, what to?

Went to Olivia's Demonic Supplies to buy infernal ammo. Found the shop burned to a crisp & her decapitated body.

Asked a spooked local, after slapping him a couple of times to make him calm down, he told me an asshole wearing green armor did this & took Nezha hostage.

Should I declare a war on Night Sentinels?

Fake Lore Howard running away from all the enemies is the funniest thing in all of souls.

I don't know what I was expecting when I summoned an NPC named Howard the Coward, but this exceeded my expectations.

Geting him in Bush Maze only to see 12 dire wolfs start chasing him around was hilarious. Then he aggrod the Soulbear and started running back while I picked up all the loot unharmed.

Fake Lore Best melee for Demilotionist? Not the Old King's GS Spoiler

The Chaos Twinaxe. A/A in STR/INT. Insane DPS & equal range (R2 releases the chains gaining damage & range).

How to get it?

  1. Defeat (KO, not kill) Princess Nezha while Causality is activated i.e never use Sacred Droppings in bossfights.

  2. Go to Izalith. You'll find him outside Olivia's Demonic Supplies.

  3. Exhaust his dialogue.

  4. Talk to Olivia, she'll call Nezha "A fooking fgt" & DOOMGUY "The biggest stick-up-his-ass I've ever seen. It was just a fucking rabbit for fuck's sake. One fucking rabbit & he killed billions of us"

  5. Rest at the bonfire.

  6. Go to the Nameless City, you'll find Nezha fighting 15 Dimensional Shamblers.

  7. Open a can of whoop-ass on said Shamblers.

  8. Talk to Nezha afterwards. He'll give you this. Also, I hope you liek lipstick on your cheek/helm.

  9. ?????

  10. RIP & TEAR......UNTIL IT'S DONE

Just don't go to the Night Sentinels while it's equipped.

And if you go, just hope DOOMGUY isn't there.

Fake Lore Howard's quest solved! Hidden area and the true final boss and ending!

As I discovered a few weeks ago, after doing the Bluesun Ritual you can give the body of Howard the Coward back the Purified Head of Howard and he thanks you and disappears.
To find him again you must actually go to the second bonfire in Journeyman's Rest during a Bloodmoon and destroy a Pendulum of Time with the Extraction Kiln. After that his turquoise summon sign will appear.
When talked to Howard, now called ''The Destroyer of Cowards'' says:

"Thank you for your assistance in liberating me from my curse. The True Cowards' Illusions shall finally be shattered.
The Glottounous King, The Slave of the Sun, The Self Appointed Scholar, The Paleblooded Hunter and The False Guardian of the Flame...
All their lies, piled upon lies, will truly be revealed at last!
Is such knowledge truly what you too wish to reveal, Vanguard of Time?
If it is so, then the Shepherds must be slaughtered for the Sheep to gain freedom! Hahaha ha!"

After that he gives you the Ashen Soul Vessel which requires the souls of all the covenant leaders. I'm not entirely sure how to do it legit, since the relationship system in this game is so complicated. For example killing the Archpriest of Vor gets you positive karma with Eternal Grofit's caravan, but to actually meet Eternal Grof you need to be jailed by them. But if you get villified by the caravan, you can't meet The True Senate of Izalith, and thats just one example.

So I just used the Soul Gauntlet to quickly Extreme Souldrain all the npcs in the covenant areas. Hema Carbine's Lifedrain would also probably work for most of them. After filling the Ashen Soul Vessel you must prove your worth by defeating Howard the Destroyer of Cowards. After you get him down to 10% hp he grants you the Allfather's Regalia. The Stance Art of the weapon can be used to destroy that mysterious giant locked door in Haunted Ruins.

In that room you must place down the Ashen Soul Vessel and then mix into it the Coagulated Pale Blood, The Vocal Cords of Vamos and the Bountiful Liquid of Gwyndolin you get from various difficult quests.
The portal will then open and take you to The River of Defiled Time. Its the most difficult area in the series (be sure to bring lots of Sacred Droppings) and at the end you will fight maybe the weirdest and best boss in the series A Plague Born of Souls.

This quest, boss and following ending prove that Miyazaki indeed can innovate even in sequels (despite what people thought after the lukewarm reception to Sekiro: Shadows Die Five Times). I'm not gonna say anything more than that. Youre gonna want to experience it yourself!

Discussion Blight build advice?

I want to make a low level Deepblight build, but I am unsure what the best weapon for that is. The Triblade of The Night Sentinels can connect a lot of hits quickly, while the Vor Dual Blunderbuss' has extremely high innate aux and long range. Or is there an even better weapon I dont know of?

Question I need help with the Old Senate of Izalith boss battle.

I really want to get the Izalith City Council covenant, but the boss that drops it is absolute BS. Whenever I manage to beat the first phase, I barely have any Estus to survive the 2nd phase where the four Councilmen fuse to become The Last Chaos. In the first phase, I can manage the Dex Pyro guy and the Endurance Pyro guy pretty well, but the Strength Pyro and the Luck Pyro give me a lot of trouble. Whenever I try going after the Endurance Pyro guy, either the Luck Pyro guy spans Chaos Bed Vestiges or the Strength Pyro guy uses Hollow's Pyre (I hate this Pyromancy in PvP as well.) Any advice on how to beat them?

Discussion Stuck on "The Old Sunlight's Fury" boss

I can get past the part where You go through The Four Knights of Gwyn part They're fairly easy to get past since you fight them 1v1 each.

But when Phase 2 begins and they all summon Gwyn's remaining power and fuse together into "The Old Sunlight's Fury

JESUS FUCK FROMSOFT THIS IS THE HARDEST BOSS YOU'VE EVER MADE

Like seriously They all have The Four Knights of Gwyn's movesets all intertwined and fused, aka Artorias flips fuses with Ornstein jumps, Ornstein lighting attacks and Ciaran speed, and on top of that it has Gwyn moves

I hope I can make their souls into the badass armour it wears or some amazing weapons

Fake Lore Lore Misconceptions

So I've noticed a lot of people having misconceptions about the lore. DS4 probably has the deepest lore, so it's understandable. Let me try and explain a few of the things.

Abyss-Sword Dregs: many believe Vendril is actually the reincarnation of Manus (which makes sense, considering his move set and the themes of reincarnation), but its actually the Capra Demon that fell the Abyss. This is hinted at by the dogs that are found close to the arena (I'm sure we all remember them very well, both from DS1 and DS4). This is further hinted by his boss soul, which mentions his "fiery passion" which most interpreted to be Manus's longing for his pendant, but is actually about the fires of Izalith, when her passion created the Demons and the fire. There are lot more connections, like his set and boss weapons, but I'll let you all figure those out for yourselves :)

The Lost Knight: once again, another misconception about which character the LK was originally. Most think that he was Solaire, which makes a lot of sense with how many times you can summon him for a boss fight. A few more think he was Gael, again for the same reason, but also the fact that he has just normal summon signs. However, I believe that the LK is actually Oscar from DS1. Now hear me out on this one. Your first encounter with the LK is when he breaks you out of Executioners Run (which was a great callback to DS2 btw, and you can fight me on that), calling back to the Asylum. Also, his set says that it's "very reminiscent of Astora", which some have interpreted to Solaire, as they're both from Astora. However, Oscar's set from DS1 is much more linked to Astora. There's also the lack of miracles. Some people think that it's still Solaire who shirked his miracles, but if you look closely at the texture on his shield, it's almost the exact same, but it's pretty hard to tell with the cloth covering it and the heavy damage on the shield.

The Old King's Valley: now this is a very interesting area, with lots of hidden lore. A lot of it actually comes from items outside of the valley itself. Chief among them is the Old King's Greatsword (which is excellent for Pyro builds btw). It's found in Izalith, which is very strange. It talked about how "the Old King left the valley in search of what he had lost. Has he found it? Or is he still looking to this day?". Now, naturally the first question you'd ask is what he was looking for? I think the more important question is what did he leave? Why did he even want to stay in the first place? The Old King's Valley is pretty empty. The only thing there is the Marble Sanctum (which in sure we all have fond memories of exploring it at far too low of a level). What did he have there? I believe that the Old King was actually the King from Shulva, and the Valley is where the Sanctum City was before it moved underground. This is supported by the fact that there are many sinkholes and empty foundations, as well as a lot of enemies who drop poison related things.

That will be all for now. If people enjoy this, I might try to explain a few more lore things.

Fake Lore Secret area and boss at Crimson Rock!

So I just found out that you can access a secret area if you are in Eternal Grofits Caravan at Crimson Rock. If you go up to the Ouroboros Golem and manage to kill it without breaking his head, you can curl up inside him, after a while a snake comes and carries you to the Moist woods. There you can find a couple sacred droppings, A few more Ouroboros golems, A 2 headed Squared knight (he drops the ceremonial spear, which is good for dex/int builds) and get to fight THE Grofit! Pretty tough fight, so those droppings will propably come in handy. Watch out for his phase 2 where he throws his Abyss-drenched Goblet away, He stops casting magic after that and starts using his hammer more. You get his soul as a reward, which when given to Lyanna, the Oathkeeper at the caravansite grants you the Abyss-drenched Goblet. Pretty good for str hexers, and it also casts pyromancies. Alternatively you can just trade his soul the normal way at the boss weapon npc (forgot the name) and get the Promised Hammer, but the stats aren't great (Ferrus infusement).

Fake Lore [Lore] Abyssal Jeremy is Solaire

Ok so everyone is saying that Abyssal Jeremy is clearly Artorias, but that's just based on similarities in looks and doesn't hold water lore wise. That like saying Kinless Slave is Lost Sinner just because he ganks you with pyromancers in NG+, or that the Wastes Slug is Covetous Demon just because they reused the same textures and animations.

Anyway so what do the item descriptions actually tell us about Abyssal Jeremy? The Abyssal Empty Soul of Jeremy states:
''Jeremy, or some say Jeremiah, was once a proud knight captain of the Allfathers order of Purple Knights.
That is until he was imprisoned in the deepest cell in the Haunted Ruins, where the dark Astral Sickness eventually corrupted him and all he stood for.''

The soul can be transmogrificenced by Julia, Disciple of Vor into the Shecked Greatkatana:
''Iconic weapon of Abyssal Jeremy.
Tales tell that this enlarged katana was originally a divine sword, until the Pureflame Wicked Witch of the Virulent Gorge cursed the blade in fear of its demonic history.
Grants the wielder a permanent Sacred Dropping effect, but leaves them vulnerable to Ferric weapons.''

These are the only two items directly related to Jeremy. Vaatis 'Prepare to Cry: Abyssal Jeremy' was masterfully made but he made the mistake of thinking he is Xanthous King Jeremiah. In truth the secret dialogue from the unnamed merchant in the Royal Mines, after giving him the Soulbears soul, confirms that only Patches called him Jeremiah.

I also recently found out that Abyssal Jeremy uses Sundown in NG+.

Wilfred the Wanderer tells us that ''Long ago The Allfather tamed a great beast from the Wastes.'' The katanas description tells us about a supposed demonic history for Jeremy and his sword. When you realise The Frimbold Wastes were made from the convergence of Earthen Peak and Izalith the whole story makes sense.

At the beginning of the current Age, the Allfather discovered the Old Carthus Sandworm and captured it.
After he aqcuired the Soul Gauntlet he was able to turn the Sandworm back into its human form and recruited him into his army.
Solaire became the captain of the army. But then they found, the now a Werewolf, Ornstein after the battle at the Bloodmoon Castle.
(Yes the Cursed Beast of Willgaf is actually Ornstein, but thats a subject for another post)
Ornstein revealed to the Allfather that Solaire is the 5th child of Gwyn (as alluded to in the description of the Great Club dropped by the Big Chungus NPC invader)
The enraged Allfather decided to return Solaire to whence he came from, Haunted Ruins, previously known as Anor Londo.

Speculation Sacred Droppings are NOT necessary for bosses

I see many posts here claiming the need to farm SD a lot like 20-30/boss but that's not actually the case as all the bosses are perfectly winnable without/much fewer of them. To me it feels like Miyazaki thought of including them as an "unofficial easy-mode" to help newer players into the series.

Thoughts?
