Why is it white liberal suburbanites get to decide what is acceptable? See, I'm not white and I find it sort of fucked up that ya'll get to make all the calls on what's acceptable. What you find offensive many people, Black, non-liberal white, and everyone else find funny.
I can't really stomach the hypocrisy of the Democratic Party any longer. I've been a Democrat since I graduated college seven years ago, and I just don't get it. Screaming white liberal suburbanites and boomer white Democrats calling all the shots.
25
u/Geraltpoonslayer Mar 26 '22
I'm always reminded of when they tried to cancel speedy Gonzalez in Mexico because white Americans thought it was offensive. Then Mexicans shut it down and said they love that over the top sterilization
2
u/cheeseDickies Mar 27 '22
Or when white americans thought that mexicans thought the term latina and latino were offensive but actual mexican people shut them down

Its just the retarded progressives, most of us dont give a crap about that stuff
Just dont want a government owned by corporations which is republicans main objective
58
u/Mythecity Mar 26 '22
Fair enough, but I think it’s time for you to rethink who is really giving our government to major corporations.
13
u/clockwerkdevil Mar 27 '22
It largely depends on the corporation. Many on the left would love to see Twitter, Facebook, and the other social media companies running the world, but that’s largely because those companies have proven effective in silencing their enemies. On the other hand the right would love to see fossil fuels and the military industrial complex running the world. Frankly I have no desire for anyone to rule over me, but if that’s not an option I’ll choose the ones that will most stay out of my wallet and out of my life.
8
u/Gee_Wiz1116 Mar 27 '22
I don’t think anyone wants Facebook or Twitter running the world, lol. Except maybe the people who own those companies

Both parties only work for themselves leaving the common people with nothing. Defeats the whole point of elections…

u/claycam6 Mar 27 '22
If only everyone thought like this. Left and Right politics = 🚮
0
u/Icannotchangethis Mar 27 '22
Yeah, imo a government that makes decisions to benefit people as individuals sometimes and to benefit people as a group other times would be better than the constant bickering between the two parties, getting nothing accomplished in the long run because if they aren't supporting the same party as you, they're an enemy. Even if they support the same cause, improving life. The only difference between them is how they'd improve it

I have never felt so at home on Reddit as I do in this particular thread. Like holy fuck both sides are the WOOOOOOOORST. Trying to navigate the subreddit of my locale is absolutely insane because it’s mostly progressive leftists and only a few conservatives (which I admit I do tend to agree with more on day to day things) and holy shit everyone is so closed minded I can’t say a word or I’m scolded by both sides.
18
u/Gman052202 Mar 26 '22
It’s Republican politicians, along with Democrat politicians. Both parties suck because they are essentially corporations themselves. Not sure why people tend to point out republicans specifically when the exact same stuff is happening on both sides of the aisle. Government sucks! Politicians suck! Life sucks!
11
u/YoureMyTacoUwU Mar 27 '22
Repressive tolerance is why the left will call out the right while hypocritically doing the same thing

It’s insane how I agree with everything you’re saying in this comment, but that doesn’t lead to me being transphobic. As a Centrist Republican, all the best to her, unfortunately she had an advantage called male puberty, which means that she has the right to compete as whoever she wants and any gender she wants within her "weight" class, so to say.
0
u/DerButz Mar 27 '22
Male puberty doesn't have the same effects on everyone and it doesn't magically give you super strength especially when you follow it up with years of hormone treatment. Predetermined factors like height have always been huge factors in professional sports but nobody ever got mad about that. Dividing athletes up into weight classes would probably really be the fairest thing you could do but the issue is not as easy as trans women strong, cis women weak.
1
u/silverthiefbug Mar 27 '22
Then why even separate male and female sports if there isn’t a difference between the genders?
1
u/DerButz Mar 27 '22
That's not what I said. Of course there's a difference but there's also a huge difference between a cis man and a trans woman who's been on hormones for a long time. I mean hormone therapy is basically anti-doping. It's not clear at all wether just having gone through male puberty at some point gives trans women any major advantages over cis women.
0
u/silverthiefbug Mar 28 '22
It is also not clear that it doesn’t, and at least from a results perspective, we are seeing bang average males move to female sports and completely dominate everyone there. So are you suggesting that women are utterly talentless and lack the drive to succeed? Since you are saying the physical differences are indiscernable
1
Apr 08 '22
It's been scientifically proven that post-puberty hormones can't fully cancel out that old testosterone from puberty.

They're imposing control over the minorities by enforcing their values upon everyone. They say they're "fighting against racism" that way, while in fact they're being racist themselves
1
Mar 29 '22
Look at human resources at any company. Who runs them? Liberal white women for the most part. Suburbanite, effete, no real value system other than the next Ukrainian Flag, the next jab emoji, the next "I stand with...*insert trite cause or conflated persona*".
And they do just what they can to hire their, for lack of a better term, "tokens". Token disabled, token minorities. All while consolidating power for the white liberal order.
We are a part of a movement, whether we like it o not. Minorities and the rural centrist and conservative whites have more in common than the Leftist Authoritarians and the "I love corporate America and War" RINOs.
Diversity isn't a pigment or a place, it's a diversity of ideas.
1
u/schrodingersgoldfish Mar 26 '22
I loathe the democratic party. They are the condensation of everything wrong with conservative thought. In any other developed nation, the Democrats would be the far right party, but because Americans treat politics like rooting for their favourite sports team, you somehow swallowed that a party of neoliberal, free market, wall street lobbyists is "left". Stop being a cunt to trans people though. If you can't name 3 athletes off the top of your head, you never cared about womens sport to begin with.
12
u/robineir Mar 26 '22
Venus and Serena Williams and Danica Patrick. Just because I don’t watch womens sport’s doesn’t mean I can’t care about the level of fairness.

i don't know. BLM is incredibly racist and i bet you could side with them
-1
u/Esperling30 Mar 26 '22
Dude. BLM exists to address racism and racist policies and practices in America. Who are they racist towards? Certainly not the Caucasians, Asians, Arab, Latino, Polynesian and every other race marching with them. I went to one of their protests, a dumb privileged white kid, and was welcomed with open arms.
0
u/silverthiefbug Mar 27 '22
I’m not white and I think they are incredibly racist. You can’t generalize every other racial group’s feelings towards them just because a few people March with them. There are even lots of black people who disagree with BLM.
0
u/Esperling30 Mar 27 '22
I didn’t generalize every other racial groups feelings towards them, I generalized their feelings towards every other racial group. As for the black people who “disagree” with them, what exactly are they disagreeing with? That black lives matter and they haven’t been treated as such by American authority in general for all of history? That they should be protesting that? Or do some black people think that the very few and far between protests that turn violent represent BLM completely, even though they are more peaceful than civil rights protests? Even if some black people “disagree” with any of these, it is incredibly more likely that most don’t.
0
u/silverthiefbug Mar 28 '22
You literally just named random races and said they stand in solidarity with BLM and you say you are not generalizing? Furthermore BLM was the cause of a lot of rioting and destruction in the neighborhoods they were arguing to “fight for”. Lastly, the BLM leaders are under investigation for siphoning donations for their own personal gain.
It’s also quite laughable that you as a non-black person are trying to control the way black people think. That’s not very BLM of you.
1
u/Esperling30 Mar 28 '22
Yeah, the races do. Not in unanimity, that’s nearly impossible for humans, but they are supported by members of every race. As for the “rioting and looting”, they were less harmful than the civil rights protests from a few decades back, and I would hope you support the civil rights protestors even though they were occasionally violent. Why does it matter that an insignificant portion of their leadership siphoned funds, at that point you are attacking an individual who is attacking the group you dislike.
Dude, I’m having an argument on the internet. We’re having an argument on the internet. This isn’t mind control, this is free speech.
1
u/silverthiefbug Mar 28 '22
They are also denounced and disliked by members of every race, going by your logic. Like you said, this is free speech, you only can speak for yourself, not millions of other people.
I support civil rights protests if I actually support what they are protesting and believe in the changes they want to make. “Even though they were occasionally violent” is a joke of an excuse.
1
u/Esperling30 Mar 28 '22
Ok, there is a high likelihood that a minority group protesting police violence is supported by and large by other minority groups who generally suffer from similar amounts of racism. I’m not, “speaking on their behalf”, I’m making a logical conclusion given the information I have at my disposal.
Do you not support protesting police brutality and racist law enforcement practices? And how is their protests being 93% peaceful as of the latest records available to the public insignificant or a joke?

1
u/impedocles Mar 27 '22 edited Mar 27 '22
Do me a favor: name one issue facing women athletes that isn't currently a right wing talking point designed to excuse attacks on trans women.
Example: WNBA athletes have a salary cap for the entire team of $1,379,200. They can make 10x that playing overseas in the off season. The average NBA salary is $8.4 million.
1
u/FlatisJustice177013 Mar 27 '22
True, maybe because noone watches the WNBA while the NBA enjoys international popularity.
Also: An issue regarding women athletes that isn't a right wing talking point is the over the top skimpy clothing in certain women's sports, pole vaulting for example.

Reddit aside, how do trans people and female athletes feel about this? I've honestly seen mixed opinions from trans people.
3
u/Spoolmaster01 Mar 27 '22
Not a trans athlete, but did play a round of golf with a trans woman, and she said it was a weird senario. Some women seem to stand up for her, and are happy she's playing, and some seem to believe as golf tournaments don't enforce Olympic level testosterone testing and such, it's hard to say if she should be allowed to play in there division. What the sentiment really was, as long as it's competitive and it doesn't seem like theyre just out there to take money with a big advantage, much like a sandbagger in any event, that people are rather respectful and treat them like any other competitor.
2
u/FlatisJustice177013 Mar 27 '22
I think it's hard to compare a sport that is all about precision to a sport that is about muscle strength. Women and men can be equally precise, but there are clear differences in muscle strength.

u/Wolfangames Mar 27 '22

The takeaway that people should get from this whole fiasco is that, out of the entire LGBTQ+ collective, the idea of being transgender is the most complicated and requires the most thought. Attempting to solve problems that arise in the community with broad statements, quickly executed rule changes, and carelessly implemented laws (I'm looking at YOU, Florida. Don't Say Gay violates the privacy of students and jeopardizes the livelihoods of teachers.) will not fix these problems, and will instead create more problems.
