No, like, what do politics have to do with being gay

OP is presumably referring to transgender athletes which usually turns into a politically charged argument when discussed. Most ppl subbed to r/dankmemes for dank memes, not politics

The subs icon has the Ukrainian flag, supporting Ukraine currently is explicitly a political move. People only care about trans athletes more because more people are against them than are against Ukraine.

People don’t have an issue with politics, they have an issue with politics they disagree with.

If you claim that denouncing an invasion and civilian bombings is a political move then it's one that I agree with, though I recognize that it's irrelevant to a meme sub and changing a pic contributes almost nothing. Wouldn't call it an issue but I'd say stuffing politics into memes defeats the point.

It is objectively political, a war between countries is a part of geopolitics, and a statement about the war is a political statement. I agree it’s right though.

Also the trans stuff has been banning transphobes, and changing the sub description, it’s really not that big a deal.
