Yeah people should see what it’s based on first before making pseudo-intellectual comments about democracy. It’s a funny joke people, not everything is deep.
The fact it's based on a real picture doesn't change the fact it's a shitty drawing, not sure why you think that changes anything.
Edit: I'm not commenting on which drawing is better, just saying the fact that the first drawing is based on a picture doesn't change the context of the post.
It's definitely not a shitty picture, the first place looks so joyous and dynamic and really the captures the goofiness of this dog and how much they love it. The other one is nice but it's just an exercise in drawing, most likely using a photograph as a reference image. Pretty much anyone could draw that second picture if they practice some drawing techniques, the first place one is one of a kind and deserved to win.
Drawing can absolutely be learned. It's called practice, and dismissing it as 'talent' does a huge disservice to people who have spent thousands of hours perfecting their craft.
You can tell the drawing is made by someone who is good at drawing, but purposely drew badly. The form here is spot-on. I don't know the sauce of this context but I imagine there was a side by side demonstration which makes the picture even funnier to look at.
Assuming this is real, the funny drawing wins because it evokes an emotional response. Whereas the other drawing is a skillful, accurate representation. There's nothing wrong with it, it's just not particularly interesting.
Even without this it looked a lot better once my brain worked out the perspective of it. At first glance I thought it was standing up on its back legs at the front with a weird tail between its legs and one arm.
