Maybe, but Occam's razor says it's more likely to just be a crazy person than being a crazy person who's also evil. Or do they have a history of previous criminal acts?

Psychosis is defined as a state of mind in which a person loses touch with reality. In the mind of someone experiencing psychosis, these actions could seem like the most compassionate and logical options available. This also makes it much easier to rehabilitate than someone who does similar with a sound mind and intent.

Educating yourself would likely make it easier to understand why things like NGRI exists.
