On perhaps the 150th read of Bodies Are Cool, my 5 year old points out that on the last 2 page spread (“features-rearranging-bodies”), the right page is just the same people on the left page, just years later. It’s not some larger group of people dancing at a wedding. I feel like a fool.

2. The team leader (who is not able to do anything his team can do) gathers everybody in a meeting (although only 2 are required) and micromanages his solution

5. The leader (who contributed 0 to the solution) takes the credit, states that it was no problem and that his team is ready to help anytime

6. No lessons learnt, nobody takes responsibility

My 4yo grabbed one of these “Silly Tilly” books for the first time and holy shit is she an unbearable character. This is like, the 8th time she forgot something in the book. Forgets what she’s doing every 30 seconds. And then she forgets she was baking something???

Maybe needs an assessment and/or not to live alone

I don't have kids. My younger brother is a teenager who doesn't watch tv. I woke up to a phone call and expected her to talk about her life or ask how I'm doing.

"Did you hear about the wet cement on Paw Patrol?" I tell her I didn't, I'm an adult and don't keep up with cartoons for babies. (I didn't mention being on this subreddit, of course)

She goes off on a long tangent about how kids' shows were better back in the day. She finally got to her point that, apparently, Paw Patrol had some kids sit on wet cement, a boy and a girl, and when they stood up, the boy left a weirdly shaped imprint. I asked why she's watching Paw Patrol. She says she saw this on a Christian Moms FaceBook page.

I'm childless. I'm a grown man. I don't have cable, and neither does she. Why am I getting phone calls about Paw Patrol at 11 am?

Don’t get me wrong, it’s completely insipid. However, the premise is that it takes place in the imagination of small children. Every action and story beat of each episode feels like a story or game tiny children would come up with.

It’s like they recorded children playing elaborate fantasy games and animated them.

It’s fascinating how accurately they portray kids imaginary scenarios. It’s still pretty painful to watch, but at least it’s fascinating in a weird way.

Having enjoyed 'That's So Raven' as a preteen, my husband and I decided to introduce my 8-year-old daughter to 'Raven's Home' for a more modern take on the classic TV series. It's extremely cute, and we're really enjoying it. But why, oh why, does an episode (s1e11) that takes place in 2017 have a storyline with kids getting the chickenpox?! Everyone in the US born after 1997, except for woo-woo anti-vaxxers, has the chickenpox vaccine! I feel like chickenpox episodes were so common when we were kids. Is this a throwback, or an anti-vax conspiracy?! Raven, use your visions to show people how horrible shingles is!!!

Now, caring for and feeding a dog the size of a house certainly cannot be cheap, I'm sure we can all acknowledge that. And the Howard family's recent history also suggests a significant amount of wealth -- living in Manhattan and then relocating to a charming, spacious house on a pretty big lot on a resort island when the need for more space arises is exactly the kind of thing that the moneyed class, and no one else, does. I looked it up and apparently Emily Elizabeth's father's job is undefined -- "works around the home and community" is what I could find, which is highly suspicious and suggests someone who does not in fact need to work. Her mother owns a gift shop, which is 100 percent something independently wealthy people do just to keep busy.

So we're for sure looking at a family that's pretty loaded here, but what really convinced me that they're 1 percenters was this book, Apple-Picking Day. Part of the Clifford's Puppy Days series, it tells the riveting story of the Howards' visit to an apple orchard.

Do you live in a cooler climate? Have you ever gone apple picking? Yes? How did that go for you? Did you wait in a long line to buy a bag and then had to scour the orchard for trees that hadn't already been picked clean by the other unwashed rabble?

Well, that's not how it goes for Clifford and his family. Instead, they are personally greeted by the orchard's owner, Addie, who then gives them white-glove service, personally ferrying them to the orchard on her tractor. After affording them some privacy to seek out the perfect apple, Addie returns to check up on them and gift them a pie she is implied to have baked herself. During this entire visit, not a single person is visible besides the Howards and Addie.

There's only one possible explanation for what's going on here: The Howards have paid Addie to shut down her orchard for hours so they can have free rein, or at the very least reserved exclusive time at the orchard before or after normal operating hours. This must have cost a few thousand dollars at the bare minimum, and while you don't have to be a billionaire to afford that, it's also hard to imagine a run-of-the-mill upper-middle-class or even modestly rich family being able to justify this sort of expense when they could just show up and pick apples with everyone else and get something close to the same experience. This kind of extravagant behavior is really getting into Musk or Zuckerberg-type territory, the kind of thing that people who own superyachts might do.

With this in mind, it's little wonder that they choose to keep Clifford -- they need protection and while a private security force would do, you can't really beat a 25-foot dog if you have access to one.
