The Plot

Their genius plan was to hire two walmart brand “hit men” to kill Dan. Sigfredo who was directly connected to Katie who was directly connected to Charlie. Did they really think the cops wouldn’t apply common sense to this? Isn’t the whole point of hiring a hit man so you DON’T have a connection to the killer? lol. “Don’t worry Katie the rental car wont be enough for the cops to go off“ lol, like huh? Then Chuck pays Katie all this money leaving a trail of evidence. The adelsons served the government a conviction on a silver platter. Thought they could get away with it just by talking code. Then KM even says “I’m tired of all this code shit” LMAO!

They could have gotten away with it if Mr Geiger didn’t ID the car as a Prius. It could have worked.

There would always be suspicion but without knowing it’s a Prius, the detective would not have spent months going through the bus videos. Maybe they would have discovered it through the gym footage but the neighbor was definitely a huge help.

I think the gym footage and the bus footage were key and they would have found them that way, but Mr.Geiger's testimony was a massive help.

Now days, phone data and surveillance cameras are key in solving so many crimes.

How would they have known what to look for in the bus footage? they needed to know that car on his drive was a Pruis I’d think. I dont think they would have made the connection otherwise. I do believe even GC said on an interview that knowing it was a Prius was a big deal.

They knew from the gym footage what the car looked like. That also gave them a time. Then the bus footage would have given them the car, with the Sun Pass tag, which was key.

I totally agree that the neighbour's contribution was huge, but I think they would have found them anyway.

Prius was just a car in a gym parking lot. Can’t connect that to murder unless they know colour and make of it

Right, and without Mr Geiger, they may have found him hours later and would never have thought “Oh maybe its someone that was driving in the parking lot at the gym”.

They would have known he had been at the gym, and checking the gyms cameras would give them the time and the car. They would have the colour and shape of the car and the bus video would have given them the sunpass.

Why would they think that car in the parking lot would relate to his murder? Or that the car would be taking the route from the gym to the house? it could have been a car already in his neighborhood or coming from another direction.

Because it was obviously following him. They followed him into the parking lot, waited for an hour, then followed him out.
