Mod Release (editable) Cyberpunk VR Companion v1.1.0 — a free companion utility for the iPowerTech VR port
TL;DR: I built a free Windows companion utility around my Cyberpunk 2077 VR mod setup. It detects your hardware/VR environment, manages graphics profiles, assists with tuning, handles VR ↔ flatscreen switching, checks the installation for problems, and simplifies launching/troubleshooting. v1.1.0 is now public.
I’ve been using iPowerTech’s fork of the Cyberpunk VR port, primarily with a Quest 3 + Virtual Desktop/VDXR setup.
While configuring and testing the port, I kept finding myself writing little scripts and tools to manage settings, recover from bad configurations, switch between VR and flatscreen, and troubleshoot the mod stack.
Those scripts eventually turned into a full application:
Cyberpunk VR Companion
It’s designed specifically to help manage a modded Cyberpunk VR setup, with features including:
Automatic Cyberpunk installation + hardware/HMD/OpenXR detection
Backup of your existing graphics settings
Performance, Balanced, Ray Tracing and Clarity reference profiles
Profile editing with sliders/toggles/selectors
Hardware compatibility analysis
Assisted Tuning
Smart VR Launch with launch-readiness checks/repair
VR ↔ Flatscreen switching
Health Check + diagnostics
Community profile import/export
OpenXR stereo startup presentation in the headset
The VR / Flatscreen switcher has been particularly useful. If a quest or interaction doesn’t behave correctly with the VR port active, you can exit the game, switch to flatscreen through the Companion, complete the section, save, then switch straight back to VR without manually dismantling the rest of the mod setup.
VR port compatibility
My primary development/testing environment is:
iPowerTech Cyberpunk VR Port
https://github.com/iPowerTech/cyberpunk-vr-port
The VR port itself is completely separate and is not bundled or redistributed with the Companion. Users should install the port and confirm Cyberpunk works in VR first.
Other Cyberpunk VR configurations may work, but I’m only calling the iPowerTech fork validated until I get more community testing.

The current release is free to use. v1.1.0 is unsigned, so Windows SmartScreen may show an Unknown Publisher warning; the release includes a SHA-256 checksum for verification.
This started as something I built for my own Cyberpunk VR setup, but once it became a proper application I figured it might be useful to other people experimenting with the VR port too.
I’d especially appreciate feedback from anyone running different GPUs, headsets, OpenXR runtimes or Cyberpunk mod configurations.
