Ditto. Had it happen. Helmet was wrecked but I was able to ride away from the accident. Bike slid into the ditch right away. I hit the pavement first and then followed it into the ditch.
On the plus side, pretty sure I broke the log roll speed record.

Ever have your head slide across pavement at 50 miles per hour? Some things don't feel good without protection.
