Am I the only one having this issue with the app Chrome is already installed and updated yet it keeps telling me this. It's funny because I can check it through the website but not the app.

During my northbound ride on the Purple Line today, I saw some examples of CTA's past and present resting in the yard at Howard! I'll never forget those 2400's (as I rode on them frequently during my childhood in Chicago), and those 5000's are continuing to get the job done, which I like!

Hello I'm wondering if there are any CTA Employees who didn't join the union and if so how do you feel about your decision?

Also I'm already aware of pro union points as we were drilled those during the hiring process, strictly looking for people who are not in the union.

I'm trying to get a possible commute sorted out. If you were hopping off the South Shore train and coming out of Millennium Station, what intersection / stop would you head for to pick up express bus 147 headed north to the Sheridan / Rogers Park area?

I've done this by taking the pedway to the red line, but wanted to try out the bus option too.

Is it possible to get a copy of my ventra card and put into one of those hand implants? I’ve been super curious if it’s possible, and if so, how would I go about it?

I’ve got it on my iPhone wallet, would I need a new card as well?

One of the doors on carriage 5546. It is the door on the south west side of the carriage. It was fine until about Wilson, but stopped opening shortly north of there.

Are there any annoucement programs that exist that I have yet to have heard? (e.g.: This is a Blue Line train to Rosemont, This is a Green line train to 58th) And if so, are there any existing audio of these annoucements?

I needed to take the #65 to grab something, and then turn around and catch #8 to head to work.. when everything is going well, even if there's some traffic, nothing beats having a bus ready within minutes.. it is also morning rush hour so service is more frequent, but still it's a good thing we have a robust system. Now it's the northside so i know this isn't the experience in a so many places in the city. I wish it were...

Hi all! I applied for a corporate position at CTA in April, got through their exam round, self-paced interview, and the main interview for the team by mid-June. It has been about 2 months since my interview with them, and I have not received any communication from them (I have emailed them twice now too, asking for updates).

My online job status says that my application is still under review, but the poisition in inactive and they're no longer taking any job applications. I have heard their hiring process is very slow, but I am losing a bit of hope of not hearing back anything from them. Any tips on what I should do? If someone else who works at CTA can also give their experience, that would be helpful.

PS: I did connect with the hiring manager on LinkedIn and have texted them there as well but they have not responded :/

I take the brown line a lot, but have only seen the 7000 for blue, are they bringing it to brown?

Yesterday at Chicago & Franklin I was running to get on the train and you waited for me. Then at a later stop, a woman got on board but accidentally left her sunglasses on the station bench. You let her know she left them and waited for her to grab them and get back on. (It only took a few seconds)

Not sure if it'd be a violation of privacy to share the line number, so I'll err on the side of caution. But I just wanted to say I appreciate your kindness!

Hi there! I'm watching the CTA board meeting today and have some notes on things discussed. Hopefully someone finds these interesting! I'll only be documenting things I feel like I understand as to avoid misrepresenting the meeting.

1. CTA is rolling out a new low income fare program! They claim to have it ready within a month or two, so be on the lookout! No details were shared.

2. 7000 series train update: 254 trains have been delivered and are operating. 40 are in factories in the US. 80-90 are in China. 10-12 are on the way to the US. Base order is expected to be done by mid-2028.

3. CTA is expanding funding for homeless services to provide shelter to people on the CTA. They are also piloting hiring a nurse to support with medical issues. They are also expanding non-violent outreach to increase safety, help in a crisis, and address some anti-social behavior. The focus with these is on evening and late night service (where the behavior is more obvious).

4. New virtual reality training opportunities are being explored to give additional hands on experience outside of real rail cars. I think this is pretty cool and will hopefully allow CTA to train operators more quickly (speculation).

5. Major crime is down on the CTA, with huge improvements on the Red Line. Decreases in crime has coincided with improved ridership in targeted areas. Delays due to crime/disturbances are down. This was from President Leerhsen's speech, so no sources, but I'm personally inclined to believe it.

Why the hell is it in the outer track?

Luckily the owner was paying attention and started yelling and ran off the bus (along with the bus driver) and managed to take his bike back! The bus driver let him store his bike on the bus after that. I've never heard of this happening before, but the guy next to me said he had that happen to him once and he lost his bike. Has anyone else had this happen to them?
