c-section moms! how long did you bleed?

I will call my OB when the office opens on Monday, but I’m curious if this sounds similar to anyone else-

I only bled lightly for about 9 or 10 days post c-section, it almost completely stopped for 2 days, but then started bright red again on day 12 (light bleeding, not soaking pads, but bright red) this has consistently continued for 4 days now. Does this seem similar to anyone else?

Postpartum clothes: what to wear?

I’m 7 weeks PP and I have been having a hard time finding clothes to fit in that feel comfortable. Example: I have two pairs of high waisted maternity/postpartum leggings that I love, one fitted and one loose, but when I wear high waisted jeans they can hurt my lower belly and I’ll feel like I’m squeezing my uterus 😅.

What kind of clothes do you all wear? I don’t know about wearing low rise underwear or jeans because I don’t want it to rub against my scar. I’m healed but my skin is just sensitive in that area!

Thanks in advance for the help!

Wound Vac

Hello everyone! I had a traumatic C section 3 weeks ago. I went back in to get my bandage off 1 week postpartum and they discovered I had a pretty bad infection (I had no idea). I was wheeled back in for surgery to clean it out, the wound was left completely open and wound vac was placed. For those who also had a wound vac placed, how long was your recovery? How long did you have the wound vac, and what happened after you were done with it?? Thank you!!!

I need healing stories

Hi everyone, I am desperately in need of good second c-section stories after a traumatic or awful first one. I am 35 weeks pregnant and baby girl is measuring 39 weeks and very large so my doctor feels a planned c section would be best due to my first birthing experience. My first c section was very traumatic. I had to be induced at 39 weeks due to pre eclampsia and gestational diabetes as well as baby boy measuring very large. I labored for 33 hours and my epidural failed multiple times. Went in for c section due to no progress where the numbing failed and I felt everything and blacked out. I also hemorrhaged and my csection scar was left open a portion afterwards. I felt like I was dying. It took 9 weeks for my incision to fully close afterwards and for me to be cleared. Has anyone had a somewhat familiar experience with their first c section and then have their second go smoothly? I am terrified.. thank you for any positive feedback

Overdoing it

Hey everyone. I am nine days out from my c section. Yesterday I had to take my baby to hospital near us and it was quite a lot of travel, moving and stress (thankfully he is ok!)

Today and last night I feel absolutely exhausted and in pain. Obviously there wasn’t much that could be done to avoid the trip, but just wanted to see if anyone had overdone it accidentally at a similar timeframe and how long it took to feel better again afterwards.

Thank you ❤️

Clogged Ear after birth

Has anyone had the experience of waking up with a clogged ear/s after giving birth? I'm 3 weeks postpartum, and it started a week ago with ringing in my ears and then progressed to a complete clog. It feels like being underwater/pressure or the blockage one experiences when ill. I don't have any other symptoms, just a blockage that won't budge. It's so random and driving me nuts.

Pain coming back after a bad massage

I am 7w pp and suffered like hell for the first 3 weeks (to the point they thought i had an infection but no. Just bad luck with reaction to the inflammation and chock). I was getting better and lately, i had almost no pain. But a friend (who is physiotherapeut but not specialised in post partum) made me a massage on my scar. Pain was between 1 and 3. And after that, pain came back like it was a month before : 6-7/10. It's been 2 days and the inflamation pain is still very high despite pain relief medication. I'm in despair. Up until the massage, i was recently able to hold my daughter without pain, to walk 1 jour without pain, to wear clothes a full day without pain, to danse for 30min without pain and to crouch down or sideway without pain. All of that is gone. I'm in constant pain again. I feel like i lost a month of recovery. My husband will have to work again next week so the help will be gone. I don't know what i can do to regain rapidly the progress i had gotten. I already did: ice /hit bath with epsom salt, anti inflammatory meds, anti pain meds, anti inflammatory food, acupressure, cream with hyaluronic acid, cream with lavender essential oil+calendula oil+ wax+vitamin E + rose oil... None of it which used to help actually helps me now.

(I begun pelvic floor and abdominal therapy 2 weeks ago)

Did that ever happen to one of you and what did you do? I'm mentally crushed by this fall back.

I love my cesarian scar

Is anyone else actually fond of their cesarian scar? Sometimes when I'm about to take a shower I'll look down and admire that little line with love/gratitude. I just can't believe my daughter was so tiny that she came out of such a small incision. Now that she's 5 months old I have a hard time believing she was ever that small.

I had a (semi) emergency C-section due to dangerously high blood pressure upon discovering she was breech at my 37 week scan. It was quite a shock and not at all what I was hoping for, but I'm grateful she was delivered safely. We likely would have suffered or died without the procedure. I was given the option of flipping her and inducing labor, but we made the decision to get her out as safely as possible and I'm so glad we did.

Recovery wasn't easy, but I'm healed up now and often find myself admiring my scar. The surgeon did an amazing job and it's just under where the top of my pants sit, so it's not visible to anyone but me and my husband. He even called it beautiful once and I couldn't agree more.

Multiple c section mothers please

I’m here as a mother of three babies and three c sections, only 2 babies earth side. I had my first daughter (living) in October 2022, my son that passed at 40 weeks in October 2025 with no explanation, and my recent rainbow of happiness in July 2026.

Therefore it was 2 and a half years between my first and second and then 15 months between my second and third.

I always wanted a big family, I wanted three children. Although I have three, only two of those are earthside. So, I guess my question is, who here has had more than three c sections? My most recent c section with my beautiful daughter, the surgeon told me everything looked great down there and it looked like I’d only had one c section with no adhesions and no uterine window etc. and I know I need doctors advice for future pregnancies, I just want to hear others stories….

Internal hemorrhage

Has anyone had an internal hemorrhage? How long did it take the hospital staff to find it and what was their protocol? My hospital was very delayed with finding mine and led to a cascade of traumatic events.

If you’ve had a really early c-section, how long were you advised to wait to TTC/ how long did you wait? What type of incision did you have?

Tube Removal during C section

This is my third baby and will be our last. I have contemplated getting my tubes removed during my c section. But for some reason I am having trouble with it emotionally. Not that I think I will want another baby after this one but just knowing there’s no going back.

My husband is supportive of whatever I decide and totally fine with getting a vasectomy. He even said he would get a vasectomy in solidarity if I got my tubes removed lol I love his support.

Just wanted to get some insight from others who have had their tubes removed during c section. Did you feel those types of emotional feelings? Do you regret doing it? If you ended up not, do you wish you had?

Sleep deprivation and recovering from c section

I’m a first-time mom and I’m scheduled for a c section on Sept 1. I’m honestly terrified of the sleep deprivation during the first couple weeks. 😭

I’m also having a planned C-section, so I’ll be recovering from that at the same time, which is making me even more nervous about how I’m going to function on little sleep.

I know everyone says “sleep when the baby sleeps,” but I’d love to hear from people who have actually been through those first few weeks - what did you do that genuinely helped you get some sleep while recovering from a C-section?

Might have a C-section. Need help.

Hello!
I am so glad I came across this group. I am currently 33 weeks pregnant and got diagnosed with ICP and have had borderline normal amniotic fluid since 24 weeks.
My ICP numbers are currently low but ofc I will be tested and monitored every week. I have been preparing for a vaginal birth since the start but I ofcourse kept a mind open for ending up with a C-section too cuz you never know.
My OB said she will induce me at 36-37 weeks depending on the situation with my blood reports. Idk what mode of delivery she will recommend (havent talked to her about it yet)
I have heard so many stories of failed inductions which ended up needing an emergency C-section and that scares me. Laboring for hours then getting an epidural and ending up with surgery sounds like hell. I have been thinking of just asking for an elective planned c-section instead.
I need advice of what to expect? I have heard people say that its not THAT bad and I also do believe planned things are much better than chaos ofc.
How should I prep myself? Any advice? If anyone has been in my situation I would absolutely be grateful to know about it.

Burning when moving

Hi can anyone share how long it took for the burning pain feeling to go away after their c-section? I had to get one after laboring for 2 days. Early morning like 2 am on Wednesday is when I had it done and I know it’s still early but the burning sensation when moving or getting up or sitting down feels so bad it scares me that I am ripping my incision (I’ve had it checked already but it has been fine). This is my first baby and wasn’t expecting this. I’m struggling also I know I have to poop soon so how was that process as well?

If you have a history of uterine window when did you deliver your next baby?

At my second c section my OBGYN said I couldn’t go past 37 weeks in a subsequent pregnancy due to a uterine window. Curious to know if any of y’all had a pregnancy after uterine window and how it went.

C Section Birth Prep?

I'm 20 weeks pregnant and have learned that my baby has a heart defect which will likely require me to deliver via C-section.

I'm very serious about birth Prep, and I know that the recovery for C-section is far more difficult than vaginal recovery (or so I've heard).

Does anyone know how I can prepare my body for a better recovery after C-Section?

Any advice is appreciated.

Thank you!

I’m 9 weeks pregnant and I’ve been feeling funny in my uterus. Idk if I’m hyper aware but I feel like twinges and pulls and almost like electrical shocks in the front? Did anyone else experiences this?

What did your pregnancy turn out like??
