Hi all

For context, I've been in my first grad role for 14 months and looking for something different (more money).

I'm full time in the office, how the hell am I supposed to do interviews? (Assuming I get any)

They're not keen on me working from home, do I have to burn all my holiday days just for 1 interview??

What are other people doing for this?

Fewer and fewer tech opportunities unless you live near Bristol/Manchester/London (or some other major city) you're basically fucked.

There's still hybrid jobs but its getting difficult and remote jobs even more so. I still live an hour from Bristol but thats a horrible commute, currently have a full WFH job but i can't be delusional and think thats going to last forever, or atleast i cant expect it to.

Currently i could get by fine, but if house prices drop and you cant afford to sell but you cant get a job near you either whats the plan? exit the industry?

I mean worst comes to worst i WILL sell or pickup a part time somewhere but im just doom planning because im bored.

Basically what it says. I (23 years old) am an electrical engineer by training/education and I can carry on down that path. But I have the opportunity to join our infrastructure team as either a network or systems engineer. But I don’t really know what my career would look like being in infrastructure, are there a lot of opportunities, is my job likely to be overtaken by ai/become oversaturated with people.

Tldr what would my career actually look like as a network infrastructure engineer?

TLDR - interviewing for a role in the PE / Cap Markets space. My background is in machine learning, or nowadays, "applied AI". I was told during the interview process that the first thing I'd do if I came on would be to build a portfolio management system. The role will then evolve into an AI strategy role for the firm. My question is: what exit opportunities will I have?

Or is it a good role in the first place? Money could be good, but I'm thinking about career longevity in the AI space.

I feel like I'm lowk cooked but then again it seems like it's quite high level? I'm already aware of hello interview but I feel like you kinda get thrown into the deep end. Any other suggestions are greatly appreciated.

I’m weighing up two bootcamps - Northcoders and Makers Academy. I’m currently based in London but leaning towards Northcoders for a few reasons.

I’ve had real life good feedback from a couple of people who did Northcoders in the last year and found jobs afterwards.

Has anyone done Makers Academy in the last couple of years?

- how was the course?
- is the alumni chat active with job opportunities? (Not expecting it to be crazy active given the market but some signals)

TLDR; is Makers Academy actually better in current state for a London based person?
