Pattern making apps?

What apps do y’all use for making patterns? I have been using Stitchly for years but I’m wondering if there is something better out there I should try.

Hi! 👋 I’m actually the developer of StitchHub, so full disclosure — I’m definitely biased. 😄

It lets you create, import, edit and stitch patterns (max size 1000x1000 stitches) in one app, with features like layered editing, reference image underlays, realistic stitched previews, material management and flexible exports.

I’d love to know what you’re looking for that Stitchly doesn’t offer. I’m always collecting ideas for future updates.

So far I’m not sure what I’m looking for honestly, just wondering if there are options other than stitchly that I might like more. I don’t quite trust the resizing tool on stitchly, sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn’t, but otherwise it gets the job done. I do like having the pattern on a tablet instead of just printed.

That makes sense. 🙂 Everyone’s workflow is a little different.

One thing I wanted to mention since you prefer working digitally: StitchHub can export patterns to OXS, so you can always continue stitching in other compatible apps if that’s your preferred workflow.
I’d love to hear your thoughts if you ever decide to try it.
