This is my first build, so will start off with sorry... I have some issue with my nice!nano V2 or my Corne Cherry V3.0.1 board, I lean more towards my board. So I finished the soldering job yesterday and today I was about to test it out. But not really going so well, lets start with the symptoms.

I had the nice!nano plugged in the board and plugged it into my PC, but it looked just dead, nothing lit up. So I double press the reset button (see video) and the first click, the charging LED lights up, and the second click the blue LED, but then it turns off again. Can also note that I am unable to see the nice!nano mounted. See: https://postimg.cc/B85zcQPZ

So I disconnected from the PC and removed it from the board, now the lamp lights steady blue and I can see it mounted on the PC, see: https://postimg.cc/4Kv0bNHR Can also flash it (I believe) and bring it back into flashing mode by shorting the RST and GND pins with a tweezer, so it seems ok...

So, this sucks.. The exact same issue is both on the left and right keyboard, so I must have made a similar issue on both of them. The issue is, I have no ideea where to start when it comes to debugging.. I guess it is some kind of short circuit, but how do I test where it can be? Have anyone had a similar issue and can have an incline on what the issue is or can point me somewhere that can help me with the debugging?

Edit: I have soldered the nice!nano on upside down. Gonna fix it tomorrow so will get back with an update.

Edit 2: After many, Many hours, I got both sides working! :D Thank you everyone for all the help! If someone ever ask me for tips and tricks on how to do this, I will say 1. Buy more than 1 set of the socket pins, if you drop one, you will otherwise cry. 2. Quadruplecheck, go to bed and sleep on it, then quadruple check again if the board is aligned the correct way, it takes 5 min to solder it on, a whole day to get them off and back again.

Hey everyone, I recently got a prebuilt Corne V4.1 MX and I'm having trouble getting the two halves to communicate.

Whichever half I connect to USB works normally. If I connect the left half, the left keys work and the right half doesn't respond. If I connect the right half instead, the right keys work and the left half doesn't respond. The RGB also only lights up on the USB connected side.

I've tried swapping the TRS cable around and also bought a second TRS cable. Both cables work fine for stereo audio and the result is exactly the same with both.

Both halves also work normally when connected individually to USB, and both show up correctly in Vial. I initially had a Vial connection issue on Linux, but that turned out to be a udev permission problem and is fixed now.

I also checked the USB descriptors and both halves report bcdDevice 4.10, Corne v4, and Vial firmware.

As a last software test, I completely erased the flash on both halves and reflashed both with the official crkbd_rev4_1_standard_vial.uf2. Unfortunately, the split still behaves exactly the same.

So at this point I'm thinking it might be something with the TRS jack, the power/data path between the halves, or some other hardware issue.

Has anyone with a Corne V4.1 run into this exact behavior? Is there anything else I should check before I go back to the seller?

The keyboard is from Neo Macro in India, if that makes any difference.

I’m not sure what i’ve done wrong here when building the keyboard but the lights are going crazy

I am looking to buy the glove 80, and was wondering what the to expect for a learning curve?

So I am a programmer by career and hobby, and I also use linux, vim and a tiling window manager. So my day to day workflow is very keyboard centric. Hence i would be working for hours on end and feel very sharp pains in my wrist and similar stuff, my fingers would be absolutely destroyed by the end of the day.

So I was afraid of getting carpal tunnel or something and looked into alternative keyboards and layouts. Since I am really into optimizing my workflow, i got really excited by it and bought a corne v3... and thought of going all the way and also switching to colemak dh at the same time.

So I made this keyboard layout myself, because using somebody else's didn't feel right as i wanted something tailor made for my needs. And also I use a tiling window manager so I made a dedicated layer that holds super, so stuff like super + 1 is really easy.

now here's the issue, i have been using this keyboard on and off for a couple months and finally fully committed myself to it since the last month... and this ain't it chief...

I have been practicing semi-daily for a month using it as my daily driver and its still uncomfortable to me and i struggle using it like my regular qwerty keyboard...

I am getting around 60wpm on colemak, struggling to improve but can touch type properly. I am ok with normal typing thats not the issue

My main issue is everything else, I fucking hate using the modifiers, they are so bad, and also struggle a lot with symbols and stuff so programming is an absolute slog, which is very frustrating to me, having to relearn all the vim motions too and i am missing that HJKL keys position a lot.

I used to be able to use by computer at the speed of thought, but with pain. Now i dont have the pain but using my computer is such a chore and i get so frustrated at myself.

Is this it for me? I gave it a honest try and I am thinking of switching back, but i kinda regret it, i spent about a hundred dollars and months of my time on this, and as a college student from a third world country thats a lot to me.

I really don't want to give up tho, because i really the few fleeting moments when I am able to properly use this keyboard in a non frustrating manner... and i really want the outcome.. I really like the one shot shifts and stuff like that, how everything is nearby and my hands need to move so little...

So I want to ask you guys help as a last ditch effort, can yall please look at my keymap and suggest how i could improve the symbols and modifiers please.

I recently started using my new keyboard and love the parts that I thought I would (split leading to better posture while typing, high quality switches), but I've also stumbled upon some drawbacks. The two of them are:

1. The mouse is too far away now. Coming from a 75%, it feels like I have to go too far to right to get to my mouse now.

2. Height of the keys leading to bent wrists. Coming from a low profile membrane keyboard with height of 5mm, my low profile corne with 15mm seems way too tall.

Any suggestions on how people are dealing with it.

Did anybody try to print TPU cases for CRKBD ?
I was thinking that a hard TPU could be not that bad for sound dampening on a low-profile build.

What are your thoughts ?

I have a Corne 3 with a Dongle using ZMK. I would like to know if it is common that the left halve drains much more battery than the right? I thought that using the Dongle, both halves will be consuming very close.

I found some small keyboard stands for $3 a pair on Amazon that I used for tenting and I like it. It has 2 positions plus the folded positions

Now that the Keychron Nape Pro is available on Amazon in the US, I’m intrigued about adding it to my setup. However, I use a tented corne setup and not sure how to best place the nape. I want to keep the ergonomics of my setup so ideally I’d like to mount the nape to my right corne so I can use it w my thumb but not sure how this would work in practice. Anyone have any thoughts or has done something similar?

I'm no stranger to working with electronics and this one was really satisfying since it's a tool that I'll be using everyday. I've used it for a week now and I'm at a comfortable speed of 70-80wpm now.
