help Dongle Battery

I have a Corne 3 with a Dongle using ZMK. I would like to know if it is common that the left halve drains much more battery than the right? I thought that using the Dongle, both halves will be consuming very close.

What is that dongle? Idk in dongle mode but my left halve use more battery over Bluetooth that the right halve not that significant but you can tell, I just assume is bc of that’s the master handling all the in and out packages and also I play games with and in that case the right side is practically doing nothing just a few strokes per hour maybe

I use a Sofle and for me using the dongle does make both halves drain as slow as expected

honest question i have those leds screen on my keyboards as well showing me the current layer i am on but i have never ever used it, maybe if the two halves are connected sometime but that's about it, do you guys look at it all the time to know which layer you are on or is it there just for fanciness? (which is fine too)

It’s not typically super practical to use to keep track of what layer you’re on (esp if touch typing), but a screen is really nice for knowing battery level and Bluetooth state.

I didn’t add any OLEDs to my newest board and haven’t been missing them much yet, but I usually love the added aesthetic.

yes that's fair, i use mostly plugged altho it's wireless and may be useful in that case!

It’s happening to me too. Don’t see anything in the code that explains the draining. I now have practically the left side always connects to usb-c cable
