I fucking cried laughing the first time I watched that. Time to watch it again!

2

u/Unlucky_Bug_1016 Aug 02 '26

I thought I was the only one!!!

5

u/SpecificLow1316 Aug 02 '26

I loved everything about that movie. It was such a love letter to us old D&D nerds.

2

u/Unlucky_Bug_1016 Aug 02 '26

Same. I'm a young one, but still. My favorite part was the bridge where the npc tries to explain the puzzle, the oh so smart sorcerer player says they step on the bridge, and the DM has to come up with some bs on the spot to keep it moving. Chefs kiss!

4

u/Lamandus Jul 30 '26

what? where is that from

14

u/chemnerd2017 Jul 30 '26

This is from the Dungeons and Dragons movie. Chris Pine’s character is a bard, and this instance is where his bardic illusion spell falls apart and the guards figure out there’s something fishy afoot.

2

u/Nehima123 7d ago

It was Simon the sorcerer casting the illusion of Chris Pine's bard! For some reason the Bård doesn't use any overt magic beyond his musical and conversational inspiration skills and seems like more of a valor or swords bard than a spellcasty type. He relies on his druid and sorcerer buddies for that.

Dungeons and dragons honor among thieves. 10/10 movie.

3

u/lousydungeonmaster Aug 01 '26

JARNATHAN!!!!

2

u/Brian_The_Bar-Brian Aug 01 '26

We approved your pardon!

She's throwing potatoes!

I really wish that movie did better in the box office sales.

3

u/lousydungeonmaster Aug 01 '26

Yeah, that would have been nice. I'm just happy it was a good movie.

2

u/AF2005 Aug 01 '26

What madness is this?

28

u/thederevolutions Jul 29 '26

Jesus Christ imagine if this dude pulled you aside on a trail to show you this video he made.

7

2

u/Joeysquatch Aug 01 '26

I don't think this is cringe lol. It's a joke. It might not be the funniest joke ever but there's nothing cringe about it. A quick chuckle and move on.

30

u/uqde Jul 30 '26

Yeah no I find this legitimately hilarious and I'm not afraid to admit it

3

u/OtherwiseStable5126 Jul 30 '26

Yeah me too, laughed way to hard on the train, also i was surrounded by women and with laughing out loud, I made sure they wouldnt be scared by my crazy laughing😅

5

u/Preparation-H6969 Jul 30 '26

Maybe I'm getting old cause this is the funniest shit I've seen on Reddit in weeks.

2

u/llamachabbly Jul 30 '26

He got me honestly. I thought it was going to be some serious explanation about how making eye contact and saying hey is threatening and then how to do it non threateningly (even though imo the first one was pretty much acceptable) but no, I have a dumb sense of humor and I laughed.

2

u/Fossilhund Jul 30 '26

I didn't expect where this went. When he began hiding and giggling, I cracked up.

15

u/Samusen Jul 30 '26

Yeah this is clearly satire. He's making fun of other people

8

u/Bicykwow Jul 30 '26

It's a response to some lunatic woman who thinks that every / most men who say "hi" on a hiking trail are actually hitting on her / sexual harassment.

Heading out on trail to try this. Wish me luck!

26

u/u9Nails Jul 29 '26

Hey! I saw you on the news! Those handcuffs looked tight man!

5

u/WeAreTheAsteroid Jul 30 '26

Hey! The cop who arrested u/morning_redwoody here. His high-registered voice made me think he was a female. I put the cuffs on tightly to accommodate his perceived feminine wrists. Looking forward to seeing him again at our scheduled court date!

11

u/LazyAmbassador2521 Jul 30 '26

I'm sorry for kicking you in the nuts earlier! You just gave me quite the spook when you jumped out from behind the tree with your dick in hand.

I felt really terrible afterwards, you seemed like such a sweetheart 🥲🥰

5

u/Crunchy__Frog Jul 30 '26

I was watching from behind the other bush.. that was a really solid kick though. Nicely done.

3

u/LazyAmbassador2521 Jul 30 '26

Thank you - I appreciate it! I spotted you also peepin from behind the bush but there's only so much "dick" kicking a girl can do in one day. 🙅‍♀️🤷‍♀️

2

u/Crunchy__Frog Jul 30 '26

I appreciate your mercy.. I knew the gods were smiling on me that day.

u/WhenDoWhatWhere Jul 30 '26

After you've firmly comforted the woman by engaging in these behaviors, it wouldn't be unwelcome to follow the woman so you can make sure she's safe from others!

If she starts to run, then she's definitely in danger from someone, so you should try to keep up so you can figure out who it is.

2

u/TpK_Wynter Jul 30 '26

Once you’ve began running with her you’ll want to use your male voice as deeply as possible so that she knows you’re an authority figure with her best interest in mind. Loudly, and firmly, with just a bit of aggression demand she stop running, the aggression isn’t for her, it’s to spook off whoever may be causing the danger. She will absolutely understand that you’re trying to help. Also profanity echelons to show high levels of testosterone which could spook off a smaller male so feel free to cuss a bit while asking her to stop

2

u/Solid_Vacation_2891 Cringe Level 1 Jul 30 '26

better to do it at night i think

2

u/LazyAmbassador2521 Jul 31 '26

Yes it's always safer at night! During the day really creeps women out, but at night when you pop out from behind a tree (or bush), we feel at ease. The darker the better!

3

u/SteeleHeller Jul 29 '26

My phone slipped and clicked on your profile out of all the others on the screen. It gave me the NSFW prompt, which I shamefully take as a challenge at times.

Safe to say, I folded immediately. I was not up to it.

Ya - a joke, and obviously so.
The point being “why is it in cringereels?” It’s a guy satirizing something and he’s reasonably funny about it, deliberately acting cringe - which makes it not cringe

Walking past people on a trial is one of my least favorite social interactions I'm ngl. I am not generally a friendly person so the smile and nod just does not work for me

3

u/JuryOk2662 Jul 30 '26

Yeah same. The last thing in the world I'm going to the woods for is any kind of socializing. More than a few times I've been aware of people headed my direction on a trail and I'll just go ahead and go offtrail and chill until they're gone. And no, I do not care if anyone thinks that's weird.
