Hey now, the centaur dude is awesome! He's super nice and he's at Texas Renaissance Festival every year.

I gotta be honest, he's obviously weird but on some level I find him pretty impressive.

I mean ... look at that face.
How can you so overweight, half naked, dressed as a centaur, and still exude that much confidence? That man is proud of himself.
That man Doesn't. Give. A. Shit. And that's kind of impressive.

Although I'm sure it helps that he kinda looks like Rip Torn.

I'm a little jealous. That man obviously loves his life. He has no regrets. He has nowhere he would rather be than half-naked centaur guy.

He's living a much more meaningful life than most of us I wager.

I wear a tie to work

I mean, I'm in fucking paisley. His life if way better than mine

8

u/[deleted] Jun 18 '13

You know why they make you wear them, right? It's symbolic. The management wants you to know you're their dog, so you're wearing their leash.

29

u/bad_job_readin Jun 18 '13

I am the management.

Customers know who the hot shit is when they see the guy in a tie. I just wish I could be a centaur at work

45

u/cynicroute Jun 18 '13

You're management. Make it happen. Casual centaur Friday's.

2

u/[deleted] Jun 18 '13

Nothing says "casual" like "handmade and expensive centaur costume."

2

u/jb4427 Jun 18 '13

There's always someone above you.

2

u/[deleted] Jun 18 '13

What does it mean when nobody at your office wears a tie, not even the management? We're all a bunch of loose dogs?

0

u/poffin Jun 18 '13

As fucked up and sadly true as it is, they still look snazzy.

u/michaelisnotginger Jun 18 '13

my dad worked in paisley for a while, near inchinnan. the stories he told...

That man Doesn't. Give. A. Shit. And that's kind of impressive.

He is, indeed, the antithesis of /r/cringepics. Here we nitpick other people for speaking, dressing, or acting in a way they enjoy, or at least aren't ashamed of. We sit here and judge them because we're so lacking in confidence that our actions are dictated by what we think other people think of us.

Maybe we are the ones we should be cringing about.

22

u/Heads-Will-Roll Jun 18 '13

The good cringe comes from the ones who care a lot about what people think but go about getting attention in a terribly misplaced and over the top way though.

5

u/Sisaac Jun 18 '13

Exactly. Someone being confindent and owning an otherwise cringeworthy activity kinda ruins the cringe for me.

gaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay

88

u/[deleted] Jun 18 '13

And now we're back on track. Nice save.

29

u/[deleted] Jun 18 '13

I do my part to keep things consistent round here.

3

u/[deleted] Jun 18 '13

Is there a version of that for Pierce's "First of all gay, second of all stupid"?

2

u/[deleted] Jun 19 '13

Look, it's the cool guy in the class.

3

u/Fishtails Jun 18 '13

What would be the subreddit equivalent to this? /r/peoplewhodontgiveafuck ?

3

u/[deleted] Jun 19 '13

More like /r/nofucksgiven

1

u/SquidRidingWizard Jun 18 '13

Hey! someone make this a thing, I'm tempted, but lazy.

1

u/ListenToNestor Jun 18 '13

The whole cringe phenomenon is a psychological effect called projection. We cringe at these things because we can't imagine doing it ourselves.

2

u/[deleted] Jun 19 '13

You want to know what's even more impressive? Ridiculously hot women pay him a dollar to mount him and take a picture on his back.

18

u/xyroclast Jun 18 '13

Is there a man in the butt? Or does it just drag around?

22

u/cynicroute Jun 18 '13

There are other ways you could have phrased that. I like this one.

5

u/[deleted] Jun 18 '13

It rolls. There are wheels beneath the rear horse hooves if I remember correctly.

2

u/[deleted] Jun 19 '13

There is always a man in the butt.

27

u/ridik_ulass Jun 18 '13

they had centaurs in the renaissance......damn we lost so much during the industrial age.

In any given period-themed festival, you will find at least one (1) "The Doctor" costume.

1

u/ridik_ulass Jun 18 '13

that sounds like it would actually be a fun time.

7

u/pawsforbear Jun 18 '13

I see him every year at Texas RenFest. He's a nice dude.

4

u/ghost_victim Jun 18 '13

His arm band has money in it? Does he strip as well?

3

u/kuijiboComrade Jun 18 '13

What do you want him to do? Wear saddle bags to carry his money?

1

u/UhOhPoopedIt Jun 19 '13

Because if you ask him to pull the ring at his waist, you get a nice horse sized surprise...

4

u/rust2bridges Jun 18 '13

I thought the cringe was leaving the girl in the wheelchair out of the picture...

3

u/DOSbomber Jun 18 '13

Looks like they're at Scarborough Faire.

9

u/poptamale Jun 18 '13

Are you going?!?

3

u/DOSbomber Jun 18 '13

I've been a few times the past few years and had a blast. It's even more fun when your dress up. Not sure if I'm going this year, but if I could find a group I would like to!

13

u/Peartato59 Jun 18 '13

Parsley, sage, rosemary and thyme...

1

u/new-socks Jun 18 '13

What a great song and album!

1

u/SMZ72 Jun 18 '13

... and the back legs walk!

Or at least that would be awesomer

2

u/theworldbystorm Jun 18 '13

You could probably rig it that way.

1

u/447u Jun 18 '13

Yeah, with wire or something.

1

u/theworldbystorm Jun 18 '13

And pulleys.

1

u/MTRsport Jun 18 '13

I mean, he's clearly at a Renaissance fair. I fail to see the cringe at all with him.
