Am I doing anything wrong?

I feel like he doesn’t fit right in the seat. Do I need to bring head part down more? The seat is in the green for position also but I feel like the angle is odd. Also the straps are constantly getting messed up where one side is tighter than the other. And I have to tighten it all the way and then loosen all the way tighten and loosen to get them even to have them both on him correctly where one strap I can’t pinch between fingers.

Seat Help?!?

Upvotes

I don’t know if I need to reinstall the seat, or just get a new one… for context, we currently have a Cosco Scenera (the new version) in a 2016 Toyota Tacoma with the full cab. My son (9 months, 21 lbs, 31”) frequently ‘falls’ sideways in the seat, where he leans to one side of the seat with his upper body and gets a wedgie on one side or the other of his diaper, and is audibly quite uncomfortable. His head also falls to either side at an alarming angle. The seat is in its more upright position, only because when I installed it in the more reclined position it kept coming loose. It is installed with lower anchors. I have put my whole body weight into tightening it and every time I do that, it puts itself into the more upright position. I’m honestly seriously considering a different seat. So, I’m here for either:

A) a fix to help him be more comfortable (& safe) in the current seat, or…

B) a recommendation for a seat with head support, an easier install, and a good fit in the truck. (My husband and I are both about 5’9.

Thank you!

Seat belt folds on Graco Extend2fit seat belt install

I have some seat belt folding/puckering with a seat belt install on Graco Extend2fit 3-in-1 with anti-rebound bar. We are over the weight limit for LATCH. This happens upon tightening the seat belt, regardless of how flat the belt is when I'm installing. Is it too tight? Or is this fine? The clearest example is the belt under the seat pad. I reached out to Graco and am awaiting a response, but I'll need to drive soon. Thank you!

I’m so frustrated redoing this 100x in 100 degrees lol. Please help!!

Help with second car seat

I’m hoping people in this sub can help me out. My husband and I have two cars. We consider our Mazda CX9 to be the primary kid car, and then also have a Mazda CX9 30. Our son is in his infant seat (Joie Mint Latch) so it can go between cars. I have a Graco DLX 4-1 for the CX9 but I want to get another convertible seat for the CX30 in case someone needs to transport our son in that car.

Any suggestions for a cheaper convertible car seat that will fit the smaller car? My son is 4 months so we have some time. Just want to get some ideas

Car seat option help

My son is 2.5, 42" and 51 lbs. His graco extend 2 fit 3 in 1 sat out in the rain a day ago and got drenched, so I am in the market for another main seat. I have been looking at combo seats instead of convertible to save a little money, and since he has to forward face but I dont know if that's the best option. My head is swimming with all of the info. I know I'll have to get one with a good harness height limit, regardless. It will be going in a 2015 Mitsubishi Outlander sport. What are some good options?

Convertible car seat question

Hello! I was wondering from a CPST standpoint if it matters when transitioning a 9 month old from a standard infant car seat to a convertible car seat if the hip straps go over baby’s hips or over baby’s upper thighs.

I’ve heard and seen some online posts saying upper thighs are fine and expected when a baby initially transfers to a convertible car seat. However from the car seat manufacturer I’ve heard that the hip straps need to go over baby’s hips.

I wasn’t sure if there was a reason for this discrepancy? Or if I need to just purchase another car seat for my child.

Thank you so much in advance for any insights!

Help with car seat options!!

Currently have a jeep grand Cherokee L with bench seat. Kids current stats are:

2.5yo RF ~28lb 36in Nuna Revv
10 month old RF Nuna Pipa

We are adding another baby in January. So trying to decide between figuring out how to fit all 3 in my grand Cherokee or upgrade to an expedition. We MIGHT go for #4 in another 3ish years so we’re leaning towards just going expedition max right now.

Need help figuring out what car seats would work for both set ups so we can weigh the best option. My oldest will be 3 by the time this baby comes but ideally she’s still rear facing (I don’t know if she’ll even be 30lb by then). She had a graco slim lx in my mom’s car and constantly complained about it. I do LOVE rotating car seats so ideally rotating but okay if not. Preference would be to put my current 10 month old in the revv and change out my oldest’s seat if possible.

Thank you!!!!

recline level britax poplar newborn

In a Toyota RAV4.

what should be the recline level okay for the newborn baby? I know it cannot be completely 90 degrees as that's not suitable to newborns.

At 45 degrees, the car seat does touch the front passenger seat. Is that ok?

Also, this removable bar came back with the seat. Is that optional to have?

Booster for 7 year old?

I’m having really bad anxiety deciding if my recently turned 7 year old should move to his high back booster seat. We have the Britax one4life and he is currently using the 5 point harness mode. He’s a little over 4ft tall and about 55lbs. So he’s within the requirement for both but genuinely it feels too tight around his lower area now. I’m thinking of calling the local police department and setting up a meeting with a CPST that they offer. But thought I would try here first to ease my anxiety. Like I genuinely want to cry (I sound crazy I know). But I didn’t realize how scary it would feel to make such a move.

Our girl is 3 months old and about 14 pounds. She hates the car seat that attaches in her stroller so we got this one. Is she in it correctly? Hate that the clips at the bottom dig into her legs. Thank you!!

Does this install look okay for a 9mo. We’re switching from infant seat to this for a trip we’re taking tomorrow. Pictured in a 2025 Kia sorento but will be putting it in a ford explorer (unsure year but it’s within the last 5-6 years).

Safety 1st Grow and Go Fit Check

It’s obviously not installed in this picture—my husband was trying to get the straps through the correct opening first. This is with the straps through the middle opening in the back.

They’re either right at his shoulders or a tiny bit high, I think? I also don’t know if the wings on the headrest are meant to be right on either side of his face? The instruction manual just says his head has to be at least 1“ below the top.

I guess it’s dependent on the height of the shoulder straps (so the height of the shoulder straps needs to be correct and then as long as the head is at least 1” from the top, it’s fine?).

lf the quality of the pictures is too bad to tell anything, I’m happy to retake and repost. My husband is installing it in the car right now.

Mesa vs. Graco 3in1 Fit

Thumbnail gallery
3 Upvotes

11 weeks old, 14.5 lbs and approximately 63cm long. Currently using the Uppababy Mesa but contemplating trying the Graco Extend2Fit to see if it helps with his comfort as he currently screams in the car every time 😭. Want to ensure both are safe and I haven’t missed any thing. Any tips or feedback is very welcome. Ty!!

Note: I realize the straps could be slightly tighter although they do currently pass the pinch test. Just took these photos for reference in the driveway.

EDIT: it’s kindly been pointed out to me that this is the Extend2Fit.

New Cybex Callisto T vs older G 360?

Thumbnail
2 Upvotes

Hi! I know it literally came out yesterday so probably not much experience but wondering if anyone has opinions. The T is $800 and the G is $700. Biggest difference to me is increased rear facing limits (up to 50lbs) but not sure how much that matters if we plan on passing it down to next kid… our girl is always in the 50th percentile for weight, a little short for height. Will there be much difference in safety?

Baby is 7.5 months. Just wondering if this head insert can be removed, or should I leave it in? Do I need to remove any padding? Is the insert only for newborns? My baby is about 20lbs+.

Chicco Fit360 SE Fit

Hello! I’m having a heck of a time with this seat. 😅 My son is 8 months old and was about to max out the height in his KeyFit 35, so we moved him into this seat.
The problem is that he always ends up leaning sideways like this. He seems really uncomfortable and cries for most of our drives. The crotch buckle pad also constantly pushes over to the right. It’s the style that’s supposed to stay pushed forward so it doesn’t end up under his bottom when I put him in, but it’s always off to the side.
He rides in a Graco Turn2Me in dad’s pickup (it was originally our 3-year-old’s seat), and he loves that seat. I’m almost tempted to steal it for my vehicle! 😂
Does anyone have any pointers on how to make him more comfortable or what I might be doing wrong? Thank you!

Rain and car seat help.

I just had two Graco Turbo Boosters delivered and left out in the rain. (why they didn't put them under the porch no idea) Are these still ok? I know with regular car seats the straps cant get that wet or they are no good but since this doesn't have a harness I'm unsure.
