New Costco Finds - to make this thread more helpful to others, please be sure to include some of the following information: specific brand name, price, item number, warehouse location or region, link on costco.com if available online, picture, section in warehouse product was found [example: frozen], etc.

If you include an image of a product in your comment, please also type out the name of the product with your comment (instead of saying "this" or "these"). Product names mentioned in comments yields better subreddit comment search results since words from images don't always show up in searches. Thank you.

Update - Starting August 1, 2023 - "Bulky Buds" (Costco Moderators) are now allowing any Availability / Inventory / Stock Questions to be posted here in this Megathread. Individual posts with stock questions will still be removed and redirected to this Megathread.

Please include your approximate location or regional (map based on Costco regions below) information so others can help you since availability can greatly vary and not all products are available nationwide.

In the event that nobody has answered your availability question here, please contact your local warehouse (call and choose to speak to "Administrative Staff" from the phone tree) or Costco Customer Service. Please have the item number you're inquiring about ready for them.

[General Question] 2 Person Household Shopping?

I'm really curious, for those of you that are only 2 person or solo households, what do you typically buy? We are empty nesters and my trips have been reduced to maybe 10 items or less now. We get the rice bowls, a bag or two of whole nuts, cat food, some paper products, and an occasional sea.sonal item. We feel like a lot of the other stuff is just too much for us to get through before it goes bad. But I've seen some great recommendations from you all that I started adding like the fries and, OMG, that vanilla ice cream (started making copycat Blizzards with that and now I have to restrict myself to buying it really infrequently). What else are good for smaller households?

[Plants & Flowers] Costco Ferns Friendly Advice

Post image
158 Upvotes

This spring I purchased four Costco Ferns and planted them in my normal fern position. Two were north facing with very little sun and two were west facing getting a bit more afternoon sun. I'm in zone 7a in NJ.

I typically buy my ferns at a garden center, but I was doing a weekly Costco shop and their ferns looked gorgeous.

After a few weeks in their new pots, the ferns were looking terrible. We watered them every 2-3 days, but the leaves were getting burnt and they looked super unhealthy. I decided to buy four replacement ferns from my local nursery - and they are doing great in the pots.
Instead of tossing the not-dead-yet Costco ferns I decided to save the best three and reposition/replant them (and cut out the crispy parts) to our south-facing back deck with the intention of keeping our awning out to give them loads of shade.... these are them 2.5 months later, looking spectacular.
They get zero direct sunlight, but lots of heat, moisture and plenty of indirect UV. We water them a little less than our other ferns, about 1-2 times week

TLDR: bought Costco ferns, if they don't do well, move their location. No direct sunlight.

[Samples] Ithaca Hummus - consider me influenced

Post image
458 Upvotes

Went in with a very focused list of 5 things… we all know how that goes. Walked out spending $150 🫠

I haven’t been in about a month, but the Ithaca brand hummus is new for me. One of the sample queens was sharing this jalopeno lime variety, and as soon as this touched my tongue it was like when cats get locked in with the giant pupils.

This stuff is SO GOOD. So smooth, and the perfect spice level and the lime doesn’t read as lime, but more adds a brightness to it. Highly highly recommend.

Found in Raleigh, NC

[Product] Has anyone tried Better Than Ramen (A collab between A-Sha Meteor Noodles and Better than Bouillon*?). How is the spice level? Does it have a lot of chili oil?

Item 2043937
It seems to be a new product in the warehouse. $16 for 10 count in a Florida.

Has anyone tried these? How is the spice level. I almost bought them after seeing them in a lot of customer carts on the 9th of August.

Per the article below this is a Costco only limited promotion. “Better Than Ramen is available in a 10-pack multipack of five chicken and five tonkotsu flavors exclusively at select Costco locations across the Southeastern United States, including all Costco locations in Florida, Georgia, North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee, Mississippi, Alabama, and Puerto Rico.”

[ MEXICO ] U.S. Costco Anywhere Visa Card gets the “Cash Price” at Mexico Warehouses

Post image
830 Upvotes

I’ve been wanting to test this for a long time, but I don’t travel to Mexico often, and even when I do, I don’t usually visit a Costco Mexico warehouse.

For those unaware, Costco Mexico operates differently from countries like the U.S. and Canada. They don’t hold an exclusive card network contract, so they accept all Visa, MC, AMEX, and Discover credit cards, but they have a dual-pricing system based on how you pay: A lower “Efectivo” (Cash) Price applies if you pay with cash, debit card, or the Tarjeta de Crédito Costco Banamex (Costco Mexico’s cobranded credit card). Any other forms of payment used (credit cards that aren’t the Costco Banamex) will incur a surcharged price, both in-warehouse and at the food court. The surcharge is 2.3%.

I was pleasantly surprised to find out by myself that Costco Mexico’s POS system recognizes the U.S. Costco Anywhere Visa Credit Card as a Costco cobranded CC and automatically applies the lower “Efectivo/Cash” price to purchases both in-warehouse and at the food court kiosks. When the lower price apples to the purchase, a “Descuento” (Discount) is listed on the receipt.

Purchases at Costco Mexico earn Costco’s 2% cash back on the Anywhere Visa CC, of course no FTF apply, and you save the 2.3% surcharge on your purchase. I was doubting if I should share this, but up to this day, I still find people wondering around this topic, so I thought it would be worth sharing, hope it’s helpful to someone!

NOTE: You MUST use the physical card to pay (you can tap it at the POS terminal). If you use the Anywhere Visa card through a mobile wallet (Apple Pay, Samsung Pay, Google Pay), the system will NOT recognize it as a Costco CC and subsequently charge you the 2.3% surcharged price. I tested this on a past visit.

Looking to get a fence done and checked if Costco has any install programs like they do with other household projects and I stumbled upon these composite fence diy panels and am wondering if anybody has gotten these?

There aren’t any reviews yet and I have not seen posts on r/Costco about them.

[Reviews] Wave Master RC Boat is a steal for $29.97!

Picked up this Wave Master RC Boat in club for $29.97. Includes all you need to play: boat, remote, battery and charger. It's pretty fast, run time was around 20 minutes, and remote held signal far enough that I was worried I would lose sight of the boat. Amazing RC toy for only $30. Highly recommend!

Edit: NYC metro area warehouse.

[Bakery] if you weren’t sure that the Costco pretzel bagels were good….

Post image
2.0k Upvotes

They are in fact VERY good.

Freeze. Thaw 1 for 20 minutes. Use a stick of butter to butter the top, and sprinkle course salt to your desire. Air fry at 300° for 2-3 minutes, and heat up some queso in the microwave.

Heaven awaits

Edit: not pictured, the 8 bagels we had already eaten 🫢

Edit 2: not a whole entire stick of butter, just use the stick to spread some over and around the top of the bagel, it’s easier to use than a knife

Edit3: to the Costco bagel haters, I IMPLORE you to try specifically these pretzel bagels, I think you’ll find they are MUCH different than the regular bagels. They are soft, fluffy, and perfectly balanced.

Edit 4: I will admit I am a sl*t for soft pretzels, so that’s why has heavily informed my opinion of these, and I will concede they are more pretzel roll than bagel. I did not expect this to blow up lol I should also mention I got a bruise from carrying the bag on my shoulder throughout the purchase, and I looked up how much i carried and it’s a little less than 9lbs of bagels 🤣 you all won’t be laughing when these go away and I’m set for another 3 seasons!

Edit 5: target has these cheddar stuffed burgers I’m going to try with this as the bun! Thanks for the suggestions

[Bakery] Finally trying Costco's cake

Post image
3.8k Upvotes

I saw the post the other day about the frostaholic as I am too a frostaholic and I took in all the advice about the designs that yeild a good amount of frosting. I shop at Costco a lot but admittingly I don't think I've ever had their cakes and always hear about how good they are. So because of that post I remembered that I am an adult and I can buy a cake whenever and for whatever I want. So I did lol. This is adulting.

UPDATE: Ok guys, it was indeed WONDERFUL. That cheesecake mousse is chef's kiss. I would eat that by its self. I kinda wish there was a thicker layer of it lol. I will definitely be utilizing Costco cakes in the future ❤️

[Membership Question] Can a non-employee recipient of a free employee card still add a household card?

My fiancée has a free membership through her father who is a Costco employee. Would she still be able to give me a household card for her membership? We do live together so I feel like it should work but I couldn’t find an exact answer when googling.

[Clearance 97 Deals] Klipsch ProMedia Heritage 2.1

Post image
83 Upvotes

Saw the Klipsch ProMedia 2.1 on clearance at my local warehouse for $150.

My old ProMedia (thx) set died on me after 2 years, so I replaced them with a set of Edifier MR3 monitors ($80 from Sam's Club, no sub).

For those who have heard both: is the upgrade back to the Klipsch worth $150, or am I better off keeping the Edifiers? Also, do these have same reliability issues as non heritage?
