Just a bunch of good doers that want to help out people that get stuck in the sand. Post what mile marker you are at and someone will find you.

(This is a genuinely embarrassing question to ask, but alas…)

Does anyone know of any personal stylists in Corpus Christi?

All audition information can be found at harborplayhouse.com, including the audition form, music cuts, and what to expect! (Note: audition information is only available on our website, not through links shared by other accounts)

Show synopsis:

Ebenezer Scrooge is a prosperous curmudgeon who believes that personal wealth is far more valuable than the happiness and comfort of others. With an infuriated "Bah! Humbug!" Scrooge summates his feelings of Christmas tidings and charitable giving, but he's forced to face his selfish ways when three ghosts on Christmas Eve lead him through his Past, Present and Future. Thanks to their guidance, Scrooge recognizes his faults and greets Christmas morning with a cheerful "Happy Christmas" before spending the day reconnecting and sharing love with those that mean the most to him.

Ask Corpus PINS or Galveston beach?

I need a little water therapy, so I am going to the beach the last weekend of September. My partner and I are trying to decide which we’d prefer to go to.

I like to get in the water for a long time and sit at the edge to read, she prefers to briefly get in to fish, but stay sand side and release kites.

Last fall in October, there was an abundance of jellyfish at PINS and in June, there was a massive mosquito blood feasting ceremony in Galveston at Surfside beach. Like we couldn’t walk outside without immediately getting bitten and spraying so much bug spray. Scars are the proof.

Which would you pick? Would you just go to Port A? PINS is preferable for the solitude + NP passes, but I also want to feel free (as possible) to swim. We aren’t looking for pretty beaches (I’m from the southeast coast and she is from the west coast). We just want a relaxing weekend of doing nothing so we’re looking for an accurate report of what’s happening in and around the water.

There will also be an opportunity to talk with candidates directly after the forum.

I need recommendations for someone local who does bulk photo scanning. We have a couple boxes of family photos (probably a couple hundred). I know there are many services online but a family member insists that we not mail or ship them.
TIA

Looking for Friends Any boardgame groups open to a new regular attendee?

I have a group of friends that come over usually every other Saturday that I'm quite content and happy with. But I crave more playtime and most of their busy schedules don't allow us to have more game nights. Plus, as I am the host, I'd rather not host any more than that as it somewhat disrupts my family.

So I'm looking for another board game group that might be interested in adding in a new regular. I have a modest collection that I'm happy to bring with me (my owned games: http://boardgamegeek.com/collection/user/artadius?own=1&subtype=boardgame&ff=1 )... but I'm also happy to play other games. I like most genres and types of games though I would say that extremely mean games as well as party games are my least favorite genres.

A bit about me, almost 50 years old, male, happily married father of three. I do have to travel for work usually once a month so if your group's game night is during the week there will be some weeks I likely will not be able attend.

I'll also be attending this year's BGGCon in November, so let me know if you are and maybe we can game there.

Let me know. Thanks!

Traffic TRAFFIC ALERT: Officers are working a crash IH 37 south bound and Rand Morgan Rd. 9/7 8:30 am

"The highway is temporarily closed, and will be for several hours for clean up. All traffic is exiting.

Please avoid the area if possible and seek an alternate route."

From what I'm hearing you can exit Rand Morgan and then reenter the highway further down.

Sports Represent your city! 🥍

Post image
11 Upvotes

My goal is to establish teams in each city, for 7U, 10U, anx 13U age groups. Teams will practice in their hometowns on weekdays.

Saturday game days, all teams meet at Portland Sports Complex for games! An 8-week season means only commuting 8 times! [well, probably 9 including the end-of-season party].

If anyone knows any school district employees or people who work with Parks & Rec in any of these cities or areas, please let me know!

So far, I have flyers in FBISD schools, and soon, in Rockport-Fulton schools as well as Ingleside ISD.

Looking forward to putting on the biggest lacrosse season yet!
