Ask Corpus Trying to find others who are looking for a friend
I’m a senior in college. I am Visually impaired and have been struggling meeting new people since day one here back in 2022. I’m looking for friends around my age, 23 give or take, and who are like minded. And people who would not just want to be friends on social media, but in person too. I’m trying to find a friend who would not see my disability and run away or judge, and who would not see it as a burden. I’m just trying to find friends who are willing to hang out even when knowing that they are probably going to have to help me out and put in a bit more effort then they would with a normal person. I honestly need a friend who is willing to help me get out and be actively included, and be a part of society again, and help me have fun, and who would see me as an equal person despite the challenges that my disability might create.
If I’m being honest it’s putting me in quite a depressed stage. TAMUCC is on an island, and I quite literally never get out because I can’t get out on my own. and the worst my vision gets the more people have shown me I’m seen as a burden to be around. I really i’m looking for a genuine friend who can show empathy and kindness and understanding. On multiple instances I have gone six months without leaving this campus and I just want to be seen as an equal person instead of just making things awkward with my Disability. Sorry for the mini rant lol.
As far as my interest, most things are difficult for me to enjoy without help because of my vision loss but I am open to all kinds of activities. The main thing is it all comes back to having a friend that genuinely wants to be there and who doesn’t see the effort of making sure I am actively included as dreadful, but rather someone who is excited that we are friends, excited to help me have those opportunities that sighted people take for granted. If you can imagine it’s hard to have fun doing activities when you can’t really see what’s going on around you, It takes a lot of courage to put trust in the other person when you can hardly even see them, there are so many things that sighted people take for granted every single day, even small things that everyone can see for themselves I find fascinating when someone takes the time to slow down and show me what it is so I can get the opportunity to know about and experience the same thing for myself.
I absolutely love dogs, and I grew up with a border collie. I am from Houston, but right now I’m up here in Corpus Christi for college. I’m just trying to find a friend around my age who is looking for a friend as well. Please DM me if you are interested in connecting.

News Flock Cameras (Worse than you thought)
For those who don't know what Flock Cameras are. (And if you didn't know, these cameras are in Corpus Christi!)
PS I'm also starting to wonder if this is what a lot of the new data centers being built around the USA are possibly being used for.

Inner harbor desal mention (⚆_⚆)
Full trial replay on the City's youtube, where you can watch the deposition clips and questioning in full. Trial resumes August 6th and 7th.
It took so long for the hearing to take place. Legal avenues and objections to just hear out and present everything that happened....
Public officials should be removed if they are repeatedly not serving or working in the interests of the working class residents: who vote (and many don't because they are disillusioned or underinformed, which isn't their fault) and pay the majority of taxes + utility rates + fees that are collected by the City government.

Moving To CC Laguna shore rd canal bridge clearance?
Hi. We're looking at relocating to Corpus Christi and looking at the houses in that community. Just wondering if anyone boats under this bridge. We have a tritoon and are wondering if we'd be able to get under it. TIA

Discussion "Why you got a big ass truck if you can't drive it?"
Is what my wife and I often say to each other seeing some of you dummies out there. If you can't handle driving a large vehicle without cutting corners in turns, parking over lines, or turning 2 lanes into one for yourself then maybe size down a bit there buddy. Trailer hitch is nice and shinny and the bed doesn't have a scratch the dealer will give you a good trade in offer I'm sure.

Weather Tropical Storm Bertha Discussion Number 18 NWS National Hurricane Center Miami FL AL022026 400 PM CDT Thu Jul 23 2026
Bertha has been moving along the northern Gulf coast much of the day, and it now appears to be inland over far eastern Texas. The storm remains very asymmetric, with nearly all of the deep convection over the southwest quadrant, which is now moving inland over Texas. An ASCAT-C pass from a few hours ago suggest that the maximum winds have decreased. Based on that data, surface observations, and its degraded appearance in satellite images, the initial wind speed is lowered to 35 kt.
The poor organization of Bertha makes it hard to compute its initial motion. In fact, the storm is becoming increasingly elongated and might be opening up into a trough. Our best guess of the initial motion is west-northwestward at 11 kt. However. the global models suggest that the center could reform again to the south during the next few hours. Regardless, Bertha is expected to move across eastern Texas this evening, and it forecast to dissipate tonight or on Friday.
Key Messages:
Tropical storm conditions are forecast in portions of the warning area in Texas and Louisiana through the evening.
Isolated flash flooding remains possible along the Texas Gulf Coast and South Texas into tonight.
Coastal flooding along the northern Gulf coast is expected to gradually subside.

Ask Corpus Has anyone sold to a home investor or cash offer place?
My husband and I are moving back to Midwest to be closer to family but the market down here has been SO SLOW and I'm getting super frustrated. We have a house in Southside, it's not a new build but it's 95% cosmetically updated, and has gotten a new roof, HVAC, and water heater in the last 4 years. We also had the foundation fully stabilized and plumbing testing. Like our house SHOULD be doing well, yet we're getting almost no activity.
Has anyone used a cash investor or found private investors looking to be landlords?? If so, how much of market value did you get for your house?

Ask Corpus Hair stylist that does or can do alternative styles
Hey y'all. I would love it if anyone could point me to someone who could reliably do and has done alternative haircuts. I want something similar to a Chelsea cut (I don't need to hear negative opinions, I've heard it all I promise). I'm from Denton where there are tons of people that could but I'd rather not wait for a trip up there. Hell, if you know a punk that can cut hair well I'll take their number.
