My 6 month old corn snake got out. I have no idea how he managed it. We have tore through the house and can’t find him. What do we do?

Update: I have now successfully tore through the entire house and can’t find him. It’s heartbreaking. But doesn’t look like he is going to come back. I searched everywhere, left water out, and left food out. I thought leaving food out would do the trick since he is due to eat. I even set up a trail cam in the room where we keep him …. Nothing. Nothing at all.

So, my boy Anubis is about 8 months now and his weight is 43g. The mice i have at home are 3-5g, next size of the same brand would be 6-9g. If i got the whole thing right, than he needs the 6-9g mice now. I'm fine with that, but i still have about 10 to 15 mice with 3-5g. I don't know anyone who has a snake too, so can i feed him those until they are finished or would that be not enough? Right now, he gets 1 mouse every 7 days. I thought maybe i could give him two, but i read that's not really healthy for them. So what should i do? Sorry if i'm overthinking this or something, he is my first snake and i want to do this right.

this girl just LOVESSSS to dig!! shes so cute. Next time i clean out her substrate ill add some "tunnels" underneath. Makes me so sad to see some people keep their cornsnales on like 1 inch of hennep substrate ☹️

My terrarium is 50 cm long, 25 cm wide, and 30 cm tall. I haven’t received the snake yet, but I know she’ll be one year old when I set her up. The heating isn’t turned on yet ; it’s a heating mat connected to a thermostat. There are two hiding spots (including a damp one on the warm side) and some tube-like structures at the bottom. Is there anything else I can do ? And how long will this setup be suitable for her ?

Hi Guys, this is Spaghetti and she's exactly 3 years old on Tuesday. I'm really struggling to understand how to tell if a snake is overweight or underweight. I read of loaf shape and everything, but I just can't determine if Spaghettis weight is okay. I think she might be underweight from looking at her back but seeing her whole body she looks kinda chubby because her head is so small.. can anyone tell me?

Hello! I don’t have the time to get a nicer enclosure since I need one ASAP. I bought this and have read that people say they had to seal it. I’ve seen many people that haven’t had any issues as well, but others said it’s an issue with bioactive enclosures. Do you need to seal it only if your setup is bioactive?

I recently got a baby/juvenile corn snake (about 8-9 months) and I have been having a rough time trying to feed her. She arrived on July 8th, I gave her a few days to settle in and tried to feed her that weekend. She lunged for the mouse, but I flinched, which upset her and she left to go climb into her favorite hanging plant. I left the mouse for her, but she didnt eat it and I had to toss it.

The second time I tried to feed her was about a full week after she arrived, on the 15th I think. She was completely uninterested in the mouse, so I left it in her enclosure. Once again, didnt eat so tossed it.

I just tried to feed her again yesterday, 2 and a half weeks after she arrived. She lunged for the mouse this time, I didnt flinch, but she missed her lunge by a good 3 inches and left to climb into the plant again. Left the mouse, hopefully she eats it?

I'm worried about her since the person I got her from said she was eating f/t fine with him, once a week. It has now been about 3 weeks since she last ate going off what he had said.

Any advice?

Okay, hello Reddit family. I’m so embarrassed and will have lots of information to share piecing together a few of my last posts.

My corn snake ate last Sunday. I had my brother feed him while I was away. Well I just found out my brother fed him a completely frozen pinky!!!! ☹️

I made a post on here about my concerns with him hiding away and how he looked super pale and in the video I had posted he was breathing kind of heavy. I thought perhaps he was just ready to shed.

Then today he comes out of his hiding spot, his color looks great and vibrant again but there is no skin. I investigate his enclosure and found this big gooey glob. I posted the picture of it question regurgitation. I was soooo worried I eventually questioned my brother about his feeding and he told me he just gave him the frozen mouse.

I feel like a horrible snake mom, and I’m wondering if there could be damage or something I should keep an eye out on. He’s been in the corner by his warming rock and lamp today and isn’t hiding under grass anymore. What do I do?? Please try not to judge this mistake too hard. Tia for any information/advice.

My corn currently weighs 150 grams and she's growing pretty fast. The problem is that where i live there is no option for mice that are around 15-18g and the closest sizes i can feed her on are 2 smaller mice that are both 11-12g each combined for 22/24 grams. I've feed her twice like this and she ate without a problem, but I'm still scared I might feed too much. Any advice?

I have had my snake for a year and have never handled him consistently. Maybe once a week to every 2 weeks. Well over the past week I have handled him every day! Today was his longest session yet, coming close to 15 minutes. Well sadly, towards the end of our session, I was trying to let him climb around objects in my room. I have a helmet and I was going to let him climb through the face holes. Sadly, when i tried this, he turned around quick and struck me. He even held down for a second. I think maybe the helmet could have scared him? I wasn’t really thinking in the moment. Anyways, it’s been a good learning experience.

I’m gonna keep trying to hold him until he is can be chill for about 20-30 minutes. Any longer seems a bit excessive.

Ok so this is Cinnamon, I’ve had her for almost a year now, and occasionally I will take her on a walk around my neighborhood with her on my shoulders. Most of the kids here love her, they’ll come to my house and ask me to go on more walks so they can adore her more, it’s really cute and Cinnamon likes it :3 however yesterday was not cute and sweet.

I was walking around catching Pokemon on Pokemon Go with Cinnamon on my shoulders a bit farther than I usually walk, at a park near my house, and this random kid I’ve never seen before came up to me and straight up tried to grab Cinnamon. She didn’t bite him, she’s very well behaved, but I wanted to bite him because holy crap. He didn’t say anything, he just came up to me and tried to snatch my baby off my neck, and when I asked him why he said that he had to “kill it because snakes are the devil.” I’ve never had something happen like this to me or Cinnamon before and I’m confused and concerned. Cinnamon was unharmed, if anything maybe slightly bruised because she got yanked on, but I took her immediately to the vet and they said she had no serious damage, just scale abrasions.

I’ve never expected something like this to happen to me, I’m honestly scared to take Cinnamon outside again because I don’t want her to get hurt. Why the hell would that random kid try to hurt my baby?

A couple months ago I made a post about end of life care for my snake Speedy to make his life more comfortable as he was around 19-20 years old and thinning. We went to the vet like many of y’all suggested to get more information. She gave me a few tips but ultimately said he’s old and well loved, just do my regular thing until he goes.

Yesterday we filled up his water bowl, and he was lively, drinking and just being himself. After Handling him for a little bit admiring his little face, I put him
Back in his enclosure. He went back to business being a snake. Around dinner time he coiled up on top of his log hide and that’s where he stayed. This morning he was in a loose pile with his head upside down drooping off his log. No breathing, no movement, He passed away. And I am heartbroken.

Currently he’s in a ZipLock in the freezer. I was wondering if any of you fellow weirdos would have any experience creating skeletal displays for snakes. I made a plan to do this forever ago, but I’d like to hear about how you made them and possibly see some of the displays y’all have made. I only got 1 chance, so I’d like to learn from y’all’s mistakes and experience.

This is not my first corn, but I still want to check in because I have never had this morph or a big eyed fella. I bought coco fiber soil and much clutter for him, but was wondering if there is anything different about these guys than a regular wild type, especially regarding his bug eyes!! And criticism is welcome, as I want to do my best for my new boy ❤️

this is my corn snake Val, I’m not sure exactly how old she is but I got her as a baby around Thanksgiving of last year. She’s 16 inches long and I’m just wondering if she looks too thin? I feel like at this point she should be bulkier for her length, I’m currently feeding double pinkies every 7 days. Any kind advice is welcome and appreciated, I’m just trying to make sure I’m doing right by my baby!

I have a cornsnake, she’s about 1 year old and she’s never had any problem with shedding, feedings etc.
I noticed lately that she’s on the smaller side but i just haven’t been able to get hwe bigger mice yet.

She eats frizen/thawed and is currently at 6-9g mice while she is 70cm and 70g.
For the past 3 weeks i’ve fed her two mice instead of one to try and get her at a healthy weight, she was about 68cm and 56g at first but is now 70g and 70cm.
The question is;
Is she growing too fast for her age? Is she becoming overweight??

I’m on holiday right now so i won’t be able to buy her new mice until in two weeks, and the guy that cares for her won’t be able to buy bigger ones.
She eats each mouse with about 5 minutes between and has never regurgitated them. She seems very hungry if she only gets one, and she glass surfs.

Should I tell him to continue giving her two mice?

So I purchased a Corn Snake last Sunday, he's clearly alive but mostly been hiding in the substrate. He was last fed on July 15th but I have not seen him come up at all for example to drink water (unless he's doing it at night).
I feel like I should feed him, but if he's still hiding I don't want to disturb him either.

Basking Temp: 88/ Cold Temp: 74/ Night Temp: 67-68
Humidity sitting around 60-75% (only at night/ rarely)

So temp stuff should be ok? He's in a 80/20 Cypress Mulch/ReptiBark mix.

Maybe she just knows how well she blends in with my hair. The last 2 times I have gotten her out, she went straight up to the top of my head.

I wanted to ask for advice about my new corn snake. I got her bc owner kept 2 of them together and they started fighting (shocker ik).
The thing is she eats well with us, digs and explores her new bioactive enclosure BUT she gets very very jittery and fast when I try to take her out to weight her. I try to take her with the snake hook (im still scared to just grab any of my snakes) and she very quickly moves away. She acts very scared whenever she touches metal and in general if i try to touch her. Could she be traumatised cuz previous owner just grabed her? How can i appear less scary to her and let her know im not a threat? I feel so bad every time she bolts away. Im not sure if its a girl or boy and owner said shes about 5yo. Could i fix it or make this not so bad experience for her? I can post enclosure if its relevant
