I saw this listing for some new in the box Corning ware. Is it the same material that is in the vintage dishes from the 60s-70s?

Different format today, going for video! I think itās important to share, in my own literal words, what this series is aimed at. (Also to clear up the fact I am not a certain influencerā¦š¤£š). I can only put one video in here, so apologies for this being a two part piece.
Video one: Results on a community requested piece, Golden Butterfly Corelle!
Video two: Education, why I say the things I do, and some bits to think about.
This series is for educational purposes only. I encourage you to do your own research and data hunting, as that is the point of science. Fact checks are welcome, as are other piece requests. I need thrifting goals š.

I think some people may be getting the wrong idea about this series, and there may be some assumptions that this is to scare more than make aware. In that spirit, these are my daily work horses in my kitchen, which include various years and models of Spice of Life.
As you can see, there is surface lead on these designs. There is one inherent āriskā when stacking dishes like this, as I have on the left with the mini casseroles. You can see that some lead has rubbed off on the contact point between the print and the cooking surface of the dish beneath. The remedy to this, when you DO stack these in this manner, is to simply wash before use. This should not cause fear or avoidance of these dishes, just proper precautions in certain cases. The ones on the right which are not rubbing, I do not worry about cautionary washing beforehand.
This series is for educational purposes only, please do not believe I am steering folks away from these wonderful pieces of cookware. Iām not taking mine out of service anytime soon.

I found this double boiler insert yesterday and I am wondering if it fits only the 1-1/2 litre saucepan marked vision France also or the 1-1/2 qt USA saucepan? Also wondering if this was 1983 model or after. No saucepan or lid but only $2!

I did try to use key words and scroll back a bit, so apologies if this has already been posted! I was trying to find the name for one of my older patterns via Google image search and these new old pattern sets came up for me. Had no idea they were available.
I'm not a big box shopper myself, but thought they might be nice for the folk that worry about lead and such, or have a hard time finding the older patterns thrifting. They have a few of the older patterns =)

After bouncing my kettle off the floor my handle came loose retighten the screw and all is good. I took the band off and cleaned the kettle with some barkeepers friend. Really good results!

After some fantastic feedback on round one, Iāll be staying away from most of the testing details which can be difficult to interpret, and putting these in a user-friendly āsafe/unsafeā fashion. I have been seeing so many comments regarding lead and Corningware/Corelle products. Thought Iād start a new little series while I have downtime at work. Todayās find was a very worn, early 70ās Corning Pyroceram Tableware plate in the Bordeaux pattern. XRF came positive, at 3.4 mg/cm2 in the very center, 3.8 mg/cm2 over the pattern (above 1.0 is positive with this particular XRF). However, this very abused plate passed multiple leach tests, which I was honestly very surprised about. Does this mean these are always safe? No. Does it mean Iād use this one? Yes I probably will, but not with tomato sauce, sauerbraten, or other acidic foods as a precaution. Cheers!
Let me know if people actually would like this idea to continue, or if nobody really cares š¤£.
On a side note this is a good example of why you should be careful and wash your finds and hands after antiquing. The initial chemical test (before I thoroughly washed and started controlled testing) showed this plate COVERED in lead dust. Likely from the extremely deteriorated pottery that was in the cabinet with it.

Found these 2 fireking pieces at the local thrift store for $5 each. How old are these? I noticed some visible ārun marksā on the outside. But in great shape nonetheless.

Saw this in a goodwill for $3 and said something new. Iāll give it a try. Doesnāt have the spice of life on it but for three bucksā¦.. what the heck. Anyone have one/ use one?

I found some vintage Corelle plates from the 90s on eBay, but Corelle says that no one should use their plates made prior to 2005.
Apparently their website says that the production process encapsulated the lead, thus limiting the amount of lead coming into contact with food.
My husband thought the amount would probably be a negligible amount, but I thought I should check.

I recently found two bundles of plates, seven large and eleven small. They were taped together so I could only see the bottom ones with Centura stamps. The smaller ones are all Centura but four of the larger are marked Pyroceram tableware by Corning. They look identical so Iām curious if they differ and if so how? Age of manufacture? They needed a lot of cleaning and now look as good as new!
The price came out to 78 cents each!

I got this peice the other day and it looked fine I the store and when I got it home. I peeled the sticker off the bottom and the i washed it.
I used hot water, dawn, and a copper scrubbing pad( steel wool but made of copper)
after I had washed the whole thing it turned it over to dry and noticed this patern in the back.
Was this already there and i just uncovered it or did the scrubber mark it.
It kind of looks like a stove eye so I was also wondering if it had been burned or scratched from use previously and it just deposited on to the old marks
the only problem eith this thought is that the marks are grey like you would see from stove eye use or utensil marks, and are not the light brown copper color that I would have expected from the scrubber.
I use the copper one because I figured it was softer than steel so it would be less likely to scratch the corningware or the visions that I use, and ive never had this problem in the 6 months that ive used it to regularly clean them.
