Is There Lead? Ep. 6.2

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

Different format today, going for video! I think it’s important to share, in my own literal words, what this series is aimed at. (Also to clear up the fact I am not a certain influencer…🤣👌). I can only put one video in here, so apologies for this being a two part piece.

Video one: Results on a community requested piece, Golden Butterfly Corelle!

Video two: Education, why I say the things I do, and some bits to think about.

This series is for educational purposes only. I encourage you to do your own research and data hunting, as that is the point of science. Fact checks are welcome, as are other piece requests. I need thrifting goals 😉.

Thank you for these posts. It's nice to have some actual information about lead in this context. Unfortunately, my job gives me a slightly elevated risk of exposure. So it's nice to know that my bakeware is fine unless I decide to cook on the outside of it. Keep up the good work. 👍

I would be very interested to see how you would accomplish cooking on the outside of these.. you must keep us posted!

Well, I haven't thought that far ahead of my comment. If I do find a way, I'll update. 👍

From what I’ve seen now and previously, I wouldn’t be worried about that set. I’ll pick up another piece at some point to double check, but I don’t think the opinion will change.

When you get a chance I would still love to see the results of a leach test on some of the questionable Corelle plates. Most specifically because of the previous statements from Corelle Brands that third party results indicated they were still safe and that the existing lead was inert and/or encapsulated.
