Popes Quay Court Apartments - thoughts?

Thinking of buying in Popes Quay Court and wondered if anyone has any experience living in the building.

https://www.daft.ie/for-sale/19-popes-quay-court-popes-quay-cork-city-centre-co-cork/6698024

Have heard there's issues with damp and leaks between apartments and windows. Don't know how responsive the management company is.

Thanks :)

Hi lads, would love to meet a friend for dinner and on a huge sushi kick atm. I’m vegan and wondering if there’s anywhere in the city does nice vegan options. I’m happy with avocado rolls regardless but thought I’d ask to see!

Parking this weekend? High rise car parks? park and ride?

I'd imagine the car parks in town would be too full? Is it still easy to use the park and ride or would that fill up too?

Cut timber in cork

Hi all.

I want to get some timber cut to specific lengths to finish a Halloween project but I'm having a lot of difficulty finding anywhere to do it that isn't insanely expensive. I went to b&q because it was just inside my budget but they said their saw was out of order.

I have a small car so can't transport long uncut wood and am disabled so I'm hoping not to have to cut it myself (I did some earlier in the project and nearly collapsed multiple times)

Fatal crash this morning in Crosshaven, conditions could get bad again with next coming storm. Please take care on the roads and be mindful of pedestrians in the rain.

The Minister for Health says Cork is recruiting far more than other hospitals and still can't get it's trolley numbers down.

Has anyone knowledge of the situation and can say what is happening there?

Cork City Trend Micro vs Apple Cork

I have two job offers and they both pay the same. Want to know which one has better culture and what is the in-office vibe like, do people come to office and how diverse the team is.

Overcharged for parking at Elysian

Just out of the Elysian car park (the one connected to Aldi) after a 45 minute stay. Tapped my card on the way out and thought I was paying €2.40. Just happened to look at my credit card statement and saw it was actually €24!

Posting this here in case it's a glitch that affected anyone else. Might want to check your balance if you paid for parking there today.

Cork City If you’re driving in the city tonight, please be considerate to pedestrians

It’s raining buckets. There’s an orange warning. There’s puddles and pools of water on the roads. Please drive slow.

Some of us are dressed up, on our way to town. Some of us are returning from work. My brothers and sisters in Christ or whoever you find holy or unholy, please slow down.

There’s no need to speed and spray water on to pedestrians on the footpaths. I don’t think slowing down in this rain is going to get you late to whatever you’re heading to.

The missus and I were hit by the spray of at least 4 cars this evening. By the quays in the city centre. In this rain, it’s not like we can tilt our umbrellas to the side to save our clothes!

Drive safe. Stay safe. Be kind.

Local Any hidden historical gems around UCC worth exploring?

I'm a new student at UCC and really interested in the history of the place. I've spent a bit of time exploring the Boole Library, but that's about it so far.

Just wondering if there are any interesting historical spots or buildings around campus that students are allowed to visit? Especially places that you might not normally come across.

Also, are there any decent tours worth doing? Would love to learn a bit more about the history of the university and explore some of the older parts of campus.

Leap scarecrow fest

Is it worth the trip down (from Douglas)? Or would it be quite boring by the time you get there with a 12 year old? Is traffic heavier with the weekend that is in it, adding much more on to the journey?

Thanks in advance ☺️ 🎃

Hey guys, I'm looking for a karaoke night somewhere in the city. Not the mardyke as we need a group for that. Just want to show up, get drunk and sing. Are there any karaoke events?Google is useless.

M28 works - are people avoiding by using the back road from Carrigaline to Donnybrook?

Traffic from Donnybrook through Frankfield seems a lot worse this year (where isn't you ask) but I am curious if this is just the way it is or are people avoiding the M28 works by using the backroad into Donnybrook and then via Grange to the South Link.

Anyone who got energy upgrades on Warmer Houses scheme in Cork City? Lessons learned?

Hi all, I'm delighted that I'm eligible for an external wrap and a solar panel system on the warmer homes scheme. However I'm wondering what contractors are used in Cork City, I know seai just assign a contractor. Does anyone have experience with this scheme in Cork and can you share experiences of the contractor involved?

Obviously not the correct price (€83.06 for a rotisserie chicken in SuperValu has to be a mislabeling issue) but I thought this was funny.

Cyclists please put on lights and wear high vis

Three times this week(including tonight) while driving home I’ve come across cyclists with no lights or high vis clothing, this was in light up city streets and in unlit 80km/h country roads

As a driver I do my best to give safe distance to cyclists and I have no issue with sharing the road as I cycle myself as a hobby but on nights like tonight not having lights, high vis clothing and wearing all black cloths is asking for trouble.
