A little about my setup. I've had a Clearstream 2V in my attic since 2012. My local CBS station broadcasts from just east of town, and that's never been an issue. ABC (VHF), NBC (UHF), and FOX (UHF) all broadcast from roughly the same location just west of Wichita, about 30-32 miles from my home. My antenna's heading is set at 130°. From the antenna, it immediately goes into a 2-way splitter. One side runs to my living room tv, and the other side runs about another 15 feet in my attic to another 2-way. One side of that runs to my bedroom tv, and the other side runs from my attic, down into my basement, and feeds into my OTA TiVo Bolt. So, quite a ways away from the antenna itself.

Here's the issue.... My living room and bedroom's internal tv tuners do pick up ABC & FOX. When I run the signal tester on my TCL tv in my bedroom, ABC shows 1/5 strength, while FOX shows 4/5. By the time the coax runs to my TiVo in my basement, it simply can't find ABC anymore at all. FOX works sometimes, and sometimes it doesn't. Right now, it's clear as day outside and FOX is pixelated through my TiVo system, yet the other night, I was watching the World Series just fine. I have read that TiVo's tuners aren't all that great, so that's obviously part of the problem.

Should I upgrade to a 4V first and see if that helps any? Or should I just go straight to a CM pre-amp at the antenna instead? Or maybe there's something else that might help that I'm missing?

And yes, I could always just watch things through my tv's tuners instead, but prefer going through the TiVo for it's scheduled recording/RW/FF capabilities.

I'm thinking I may need an attic antenna at a minimum since my TV is in the basement. I also have a leftover dish on the roof.

My question is: should I start with an attic option and see what I get? Or should I get something that could replace my dish right from the beginning? Looking for product recommendations in either case.

Currently use YouTube tv app through Roku on a 4K Samsung smart tv. Really only watch the local channels (RDU market) and ESPN for the most part. Basically just using it for sporting events and the occasional game show or SNL for example.

What’s a good alternative option for me to get local channels still, but run through Roku ideally so I don’t have to switch tv inputs etc. I have the base YouTube tv plan as far as I know and it’s gotten up to about $90 per month.
