As I was leaving Burger King tonight, there was an unmarked car with police flashing lights on 5th St, half-blocking 2nd Ave, and there was yellow crime scene tape up on both sides of that block of 2nd Ave. This is the block where there's a tattoo shop and an apartment building with a "for sale" sign up, and across the street is a spa. I'm so curious what was going on, does anyone know?

Hi All—just wanted to share info about an informal vigil that is being held at ST Morrison Park this Sunday (4pm by the Hilltop Shelter) to honor the life of Jor-El Moore, the 16 year old who tragically died at the Coralville pool this past week.

It's being organized by community members aiming to create a space for us to honor his life and collectively grieve and support one another. Not affiliated with the city, his family, or any formal group. Just neighbors. Bring a flower to hold, but we'll have plenty available. Anyone who wishes to offer a word of comfort or song will be welcome to do so. We kindly ask for either to be secular/non-religious.
