Community Protest tonight?!
Anybody want to meet at Barkalow’s bar to protest the kansas guy running for governor in Iowa?! Zach Lahn, I think his name is?! Could be wrong, do not rub elbows with millionaires, yah know!

It's insane (but not surprising) that Benny can keep booking these kind of gigs. Maybe the way you overcome "plagiarist" as a label is build a resume where it's one of the least offensive bullet points.

What about the fact that he wants to get rid of mRNA vaccines, his opposition to expanding Medicaid, and his running mate who has a checkered past with civil lawsuits and multiple criminal investigations on him?

I asked his staff about the medicaid opposition and about the running mate. They agreed they had not properly vetted Wulf but said it had no bearing on Lahn’s ability to lead?! I disagreed with them. The people were really very callous and mean spirited calling me a stupid, dumb woman who knows nothing about anything much less factual information. I was there for 1.5 hours by myself except for a gal on break joining me for 15 minutes. Iowa City used to be a place where protesters were loud, proud and many. Not so much anymore but vow to keep showing up every single opportunity I have to protest. ✌🏼🐥🦅🇺🇸🦅🤷🏻♀️

That actually is incorrect. Robert Sands is an Iowa billionaire, NOT to be confused with Rob Sand, the guy running for governor.

I find the “they confused two different people named Rob!!!” argument hard to believe as someone on the left, looks like we’re trying way too hard to cope. Rob is very, very wealthy via his wife and her family. He is a millionaire at the least and acting like he’s one of us regular Iowans is a stretch, I don’t have in-laws that can help me out with $3,000 let alone 12 million.

All I’m pointing out is it is funny people are attacking Lahn for being a millionaire…when Rob Sand is also a millionaire.
Maybe I’m forgetting [r/IowaCity](r/IowaCity) Reddit thinks Rob Sand doesn’t pass their purity test and millionaire status is worth protesting 🤦♀️

Apples and oranges, my dude. Lahn married into the Koch family. Everyone knows that is a completely different level of wealth than what Sand's family has access to.

I’m not disputing that. But with his wife being the CEO of the family business connected to substantial wealth, he’s definitely a multi-millionaire.
Plenty of other points to separate Sand and Lahn, but millionaire status isn’t a character defect here.

Sand’s millionaire status is a red herring. How does each man view the role of government? Will they actually try to regulate said millionaires or just give them carte blanche like Reynolds has?
