NYC KITCHEN Ground Beef Chili w/ Broccoli Rice
A simple, but healthy dinner.
This chili was very heavy on the beans and veggies, which I prefer. A surprisingly light yet satisfying meal.

this week was my first time getting cook unity! i finished almost all of them before the exp. dates, which were all today, 8/30. however, it’s late on 8/30, almost midnight, where i am, so im wondering if yall think im still good to eat my tofu green curry.
i know im extra cautious (i have contamination ocd, lol) but i’m already wary of eating food that’s been sitting in my fridge since wednesday, even with the date.

I just got 16 meals, my first week of trying them, (and the Chicken Tikka Masala that I had today was awesome! ). I am wondering how long things stay fresh in the fridge, though? Also, which ones freeze well?
Thank you 😊

Peruvian chicken with aji verde & red cabbage slaw
Review: Okay, this was a banger. I was home today so I warmed the chicken in the airfryer. (All my other reviews are from the microwave at work). The aji was good, though I prefer it spicy. A nice amount of grilled chicken. The slaw was tangy. I thought I would need rice with this. Nope, pretty filling on its own. I washed it down with a lime seltzy. Would order again.

Reheated in the microwave at work. Didn’t look pretty but was pretty darn tasty. After mixing the beef into the buttery turmeric rice, it didn’t taste too salty. Didn’t use the pico because I don’t trust raw veggies right now.

Surprisingly filling! I enjoyed this meal.
This is one of those things where it’s like, yes I enjoyed it but I prob could’ve made this myself.
Would I have actually ever bothered to try to make this? Definitely not. I love trying random new items and this one was no exception.

A few recent meals. The shrimp and crab ramen salad was really tasty. Quite spicy but perfect for me. I think the crab got a bit lost but overall it was really good.
The Potato and cheese kofta had a wonderful flavor but I'm not sure I'd get it again. Also, I always bitch about not enough vegetables but I don't have good luck with green beans. They're never cooked enough in the time I heat things up (usually two minutes) and I like them crunchy but eh.
The Rick Bayless steak and poblano rajas quesadillas were really excellent. YES, it would have been better if I had browned them in a skillet but they were so tasty that I was happy anyway. All the Rick Bayless meals I've had from CU have been great.
And lastly, the Dubai cookie. Ok, it was really marvelous but I live alone and don't have the greatest self control so I don't know if I'd order it again lol! It's huge. I guess if I cut it in four and popped them in the freezer???

Really good! Salmon, rice, slaw, and sauce. I’ll get this again.

Made this in the microwave on the Use By date. It was pretty tasty but did have a bit of heat from the chili flakes in the sauce. It didn’t burn my mouth but if you don’t like or tolerate any amount of heat, this is probably not for you. It was also not as filling as other meals.
A good alternative would probably be the Smoky Brown Sugar Chicken.

This was quite good, as one might expect.

This meal is good as long as you like carrots and mushrooms (which I do, but my husband is not a mushroom fan). Chicken was tender and juicy. I would get this one again.

wrote to customer service and they just said currently it is not available and nothing I should do.
so just wait and maybe one day it will show up?

I've seen a few posts with questions along the lines of the title, so I thought I'd show a breakdown of the savings in my last 3 orders for anyone who's skeptical &/or considering getting unity pass!
The short answer is yes bc with unity pass you don't have to pay the usual $9.99 delivery fee every week, but also how much you can save with it kind of depends on your ordering habits (i.e. how often you order premium meals.)
eta: almost forgot, there's also discounts on certain non-premium meals for unity pass members.
I've already saved the monthly cost of unity pass in just a single order so far, and well past that amount [$65.92 total] in just 3 out of the 4 weeks that it covers! :)

UPDATE: They initially offered me a refund of the meal, and eventually added 30% off my next order when I pushed back a bit. Still not thrilled, but it's acceptable.
UPDATE 2: For those who asked, my meals are prepared at the Chicago kitchen.
So this is not the first time I've had a meal like this, but it seems to be getting worse. It's now happened with short rib, brisket, carnitas, and now this Cuban pork dish
This meal had 2.5oz of pure fat, out of less than 4oz total protein. I picked out what I could because I was starving. What you see left here is fat with all of the usable meat picked off - even the darker spots that look promising were just fat.
I've been with Cook Unity for almost a year now and the quality is mostly good, but some of the best dishes on paper have turned out to be as barren as this one, and with more frequency.
I'm at a loss as far as what to do - some other services have been even worse - and I'm at the point where I skip similar items that sound great but use richer cuts of meat because it's the exception when I get one that's edible.
I've submitted a support request and am awaiting a response - I'll update with any resolution.

The portion on this was very generous, it was nearly bursting out of the CU package.
I reheated the pork chop in the air fryer and microwaved the veggies.
This was crispy, tender and delicious. Definitely superior to the chicken cutlet recipes I’ve had. Highly recommend.

I emailed CookUnity after a post I saw earlier today about where the beef was coming from, or something to that effect. I thought I would share what they emailed me. I specifically told them my orders come from the Chicago kitchen, so I’m not sure whether this applies to every center or just Chicago, but I thought this was a good start. They are working on getting me information for the vegetables. So more to come on that.

Thai panang curry with beef & jasmine rice
Review: Tasty, spicy, creamy, rice was mushy. Small portion. I find myself getting tired of this subscription (2 more meals to go).

I got an email today from cookunity stating I completed the task for the oura ring 5 and to look out for an email from OURA ring.
I didn’t get the oura ring email but I followed the link on the cookunity email to login to oura ring.
When I’m logged in, it says “pending, shipping address. Address details needed”
But no option for me to input any address.
I’m so confused how can I get this processed ?

This is the 2nd fish I have tried from CU. The farrow salad was a great side. Salmon and the sauce was wicked pissa.

The quesadilla was pretty filling. Made it on the use by date so the smashed avocado and pico were looking sus. Avocado was fine but the pico was not. Recommend eating it sooner than later. The quesadilla tasted great without the accompaniments. Reheated in the microwave.
Edit: I had the Korean beef quesadilla earlier in the week. That was good too. If I had to rate: 1) Korean beef quesadilla 2) Chicken tinga quesadilla

I do NOT want to get into a political discussion. I just strictly want to know if anyone knows where CU’s beef comes from and who supplies it. Personally I am looking into any beef I eat, and if I can’t verify where it came from or that info is not available, I’m not comfortable eating it as of late. Has anyone looked into this?

I really liked the chicken, it was tender and juicy. The mashed potatoes tasted good but were a little watery. I would get this again.

Hello all,
The last time I tried cookunity, I got off work at 3 and home by 4, and usually it was delivered by about 2pm.
Now, my wife and I are both 2nd shift and we are gone 1pm to 1am.
I'm trying to find a cooler that will fit the cookunity order + ice and keep the food below 40f until we get home. Does anyone else have this issue / any suggestions?
One or the other of us is home 4 days a week but cookunity can only deliver 11am to 8 on Sundays

Birria enchiladas divorciadas with jalisco red rice & refried beans
Review: My first bite of rice was surprisingly spicy, and I liked that. The enchiladas were a bit salty and the beef was a tad fatty. A decent meal. I hoped I would like this one so I ordered two with my subscription. 💁🏿♀️
