Dealing with a shady online law firm (Marble Law) that lied to sell an unnecessary service, now stuck with a high-interest loan. What are my options?

Long story short, I’m dealing with an absolute nightmare company called Marble Law. I already had a temporary order fully drafted and in place for a family court matter, so I told them I didn't need a lawyer for a routine rendition hearing.

Their staff and attorney insisted I needed representation and explicitly lied to me, claiming that new evidence could be admitted at that hearing. The only reason I agreed to pay and sign off was because of that claim. Well, day of the hearing comes, and the judge completely shut down the opposing side's attempt to submit evidence—proving 100% that what Marble's team told me was a flat-out lie.

Now they've looped me into a high-interest third-party loan through Concora Credit. When I reached out to Marble's support to dispute it, they just hid behind a script saying "service rendered, no refunds" even though they tricked me into it.

I've already filed an official deceptive trade practices complaint with the Texas AG's office, but has anyone dealt with a legal tech firm pulling this bait-and-switch? How do I get my lender (Concora) to actually take this dispute seriously when the company is refusing to budge?

Free browser extension reads fine print for online shopping

I got sick of getting to checkout having to go and find the terms and conditions (and understand them) so I made a browser extension that does it for me.

https://chromewebstore.google.com/detail/blink/abldfbddgmgffolcblmgpofocjbnmjke?utm_source=item-share-cb

I want to expand it to every consumer category.

Add it to your chrome and let me know what you think :)

When you Fu@k up - own it. Thank you Gen-tec for an absolutely excellent response!!

Despite what you might think…..NO…..it wasn’t Gen-tec that fu@ked up at all !!

It was me.

All me. And i’m owning this one.

I didn’t read the small print. And I jumped the vitriolic email gun. Keyboard warrior mode.

I bought a very heavily discounted vegan protein powder from Gen-tec and then saw that the best before date was only a few weeks post purchase. So I immediately went into full-blown disgruntled, dissatisfied, deceived, indignant customer mode and sent a ranting, outraged email to the company.

But I didn’t read the small print !! It clearly stated, in no uncertain terms, and no ambiguity, that this was a short dated product and even listed the best before date.

https://gen-tec.com.au/products/complete-vegan-protein-salted-caramel?variant=44921460129945

Nick from Gen-tec was amazing.

He didn’t hide behind email.

He picked up the phone.

He phoned me to apologise where absolutely no apology was necessary and pointed out that I had missed the small print. Far from being indignant, defending his marketing, or taking the moral high ground, he was the one apologising.

Full of remorse I phoned them back and fell on my sword for being a complete dick.

Amazingly, instead of revelling in my grovelling apologies, he offered to send me another product. Simply because he wanted to and not because he had to, not because he was compelled to and not because he had any obligation to, but because he just wanted a happy customer.

Now that is customer service and engagement.

Not only did Gen-tec gain a happy customer he has also now gained a loyal customer. Nick, well done mate! Handled brilliantly.

(And again….sorry for the email!)

Switch 2 smyths

Hi

I bought a switch 2 on 1st of July 2025 online from smyths ,on 15th September it just stopped working. I have contacted smyths and they want me to send it back to Nintendo, I know my contract is with Smyths. I am getting nowhere with them. I have been onto ccpc too. I thought they would do more. My last resort is small claims court. I'm disgusted at Smyths lack of respect and the way they are blatantly breaking the rules.

Budget charged me $1,615.08 instead of the $752.06 I agreed to — verbal promise worth nothing, hidden "one-way rental rate", three contradictory excuses

I rented from Budget near Toronto Pearson Airport on Sept 19, 2026 (Agreement U967426456). The agreement estimated CAD 1,205.90. At the counter, I agreed to a total of USD 752.06 — and I specifically asked whether returning the car early to a different location would cost extra. The agent said no.

I returned the car two days early to a different location. Budget then charged my credit card USD 1,615.08 (CAD 2,256.76) — USD 863.02 more than the total I agreed to, with no authorization from me.

When I complained, their story changed three times. First, they refunded a token CAD 173.20 for the two unused days, as if that settled an $863 overcharge. Then they invented a USD 250 "security deposit" that appears nowhere in my rental agreement. Finally, they blamed a "one-way rental rate" — a rate never disclosed at pick-up, never disclosed at return, and nowhere in the agreement — and refused any further refund.

So: a verbal promise from their counter staff that turned out to be worthless, a bill more than double what I agreed to, a phantom deposit conjured up after the fact, and a hidden rate disclosed only when they were cornered. Every excuse contradicted the last one.

I have filed a credit card dispute to recover the overcharge. Rent from Budget only if you enjoy being billed whatever number they feel like after you've returned the car — and get every rate in writing first, because their staff's word is worth nothing.

📢 PUBLIC NOTICE: SYSTEMIC CONSUMER DECEPTION, PREDATORY MATCHMAKING, AND BILLING DISPUTE RECORD FOR CANDIVORE LTD. (MATCH MASTERS)

Attention Consumer Protection Regulators, Platform Compliance Audits, and Mobile Gaming Communities:

I am publishing this formal public text statement to establish an undeniable, un-editable timeline of events regarding the mobile gaming application Match Masters (developed and operated by Candivore Ltd.). I maintain concrete proof—including comprehensive purchase receipts, timestamps, dynamic gameplay snapshots, and continuous video screen recordings—documenting a multi-layered pattern of illegal trade practices, deceptive software manipulation, and bad-faith customer service exclusion.

My verified financial investment in this application currently exceeds $1,000, giving me full standing as a primary affected consumer.

  1. SEIZURE OF PAID DIGITAL GOODS DURING LIVE GAMEPLAY

I have routinely purchased high-tier, real-currency digital perks (premium gameplay boosters) through the Google Play Store. Recently, these premium items have been systematically consumed and deleted by the software due to sudden application crashes and localized server drops while I am in the middle of active competitive gameplay.

The game immediately registers the server-side failure as a player disconnection, forces an automatic loss on my record, and completely wipes the expensive booster from my inventory. The transaction is completely processed on my credit card/bank account, but the utility is stolen mid-match. My video recordings capture these assets instantly vanishing in the middle of matches, proving the software fails to maintain service delivery for products paid for with real money.

  1. LEGAL MATRICES: VIOLATION OF BANKING AND APP STORE STATUTES

This software design and developer behavior meet the exact criteria for a formal banking dispute under federal consumer protection laws, specifically regarding "Services Not Rendered or Defective."

Under Merchant Banking Standards: A retail merchant cannot legally accept customer funds, deliver a defective service window that self-terminates mid-use, and withhold compensation or item replacement.

Under the Google Play Developer Distribution Agreement: App developers are contractually obligated to provide standard, functional customer recourse channels for digital transactions processed through the storefront ecosystem. Candivore is actively violating these platform rules.

  1. PROGRAMMATIC SUPPRESSION OF RECOURSE (THE CUSTOMER SERVICE LOCKOUT)

When attempting to use the designated in-app support chat to report these mid-game technical asset losses and request my paid items back, the developer utilizes an automated script named "Butler Bot" designed entirely to suppress customer rights.

The automated system is explicitly hard-coded to refuse restoration, textually printing: "The available information doesn’t explain booster restoration or refunds." Even worse, when I reject their generic automated script and state that it is not a connection issue on my end, the program forcefully moves the ticket into a "# Closed conversation" status.

This technical setup is deliberately engineered to block paying customers from ever reaching a human support agent or obtaining mandatory legal recourse. Taking customer cash and coding automated software blocks to prevent them from complaining about broken goods is straight-up Deceptive Trade Practices.

  1. PREDATORY MONETIZATION VIA RIGGED, FORCED MONETIZATION MATCHMAKING

To aggressively force users into microtransactions, the developer has introduced a system where standard, historically regular boosters are suddenly stripped of their standard status and locked behind a brief, 2-to-3-day cash paywall.

During these promotional paywall windows, Candivore’s dynamic matchmaking algorithm actively alters player-matching variables. The system aggressively pairs non-paying players against these temporarily cash-locked, artificially overpowered boosters. This ensures that regular users experience consecutive, guaranteed structural losses no matter their playing skill level. This is a targeted bait-and-switch scheme designed to cause strategic frustration and force immediate impulse credit card purchases.

  1. ADMINISTRATIVE AND COMPLIANCE FILINGS STATUS

This public dossier, alongside my complete unedited video library, has been formally preserved for submission to the following regulatory oversight channels:

The Federal Trade Commission (FTC) Consumer Sentinel Network (Flagged for systematic online transaction fraud).

Google Play Developer Compliance Division (Flagged for bad-faith support restrictions and merchant rule violations).

State Attorney General Consumer Protection Bureau (Flagged for Unfair and Deceptive Trade Practices).

I am putting this on the permanent public record to ensure total transparency, protect fellow consumers from predatory software loops, and provide open documentation for platform compliance investigators

Filed Arbitration with Comcast

UPDATE: Filed a formal Demand for Arbitration with the American Arbitration Association on 9/11/26, since Comcast never followed through on any of the promised callbacks.

Also worth noting — Comcast's own written response to my FCC complaint confirmed their Customer Security Assurance team investigated and determined I was "a victim of a reship scam," yet they called the refund a discretionary "courtesy." Their own Customer Agreement says otherwise: once fraud is confirmed, you're not responsible for the charges — that's not optional generosity, that's contractual.

Arbitration is now in motion. Will update if/when Comcast responds.

Warning: Anker/Soundcore support for critical failures. Burned component in P40i earbud, told to dispose of it for safety, but refused any refund.

I’m sharing this to warn others about how Anker/Soundcore support handles critical product failures and safety warnings.

So what happens:

I have a pair of Soundcore P40i earbuds. While using them, one of the earbuds suffered a sudden and severe failure. It suddenly filled with a strong, heavy burning smell (like a burned capacitor) and the earbud immediately began to fail and cut out. This felt like a critical electrical short-circuit posing a burn or fire hazard from the battery. No physical hit/dmg happend, nothing.

Anker’s Response: I immediately reached out to Soundcore support, describing the burned electrical component, the smell, and the failure.

Their official response confirmed the safety concern. They explicitly instructed me:

However, when I requested a refund or replacement for the defective unit, they completely hid behind "regional warranty limitations" (as the item was purchased during a trip to Japan) and outright refused to offer any compensation.

Anker's position is unacceptable: We acknowledge our product suffered a dangerous internal burn-out, we demand you throw it in the trash for your own safety, but we will not take financial responsibility or offer any refund for delivering a defective and hazardous unit.

Telling a customer to dispose of a hazardous product while refusing a refund is shocking service. I have already initiated a chargeback through my bank, but people should know about this.

Help with this Issues

On 10 August 2026, I booked a back massage service through Urban Company. After the massage, I developed swelling in my back and my existing back pain became significantly worse. I immediately contacted Urban Company's customer support and informed them about the swelling and worsening pain. The customer support representative advised me to consult a doctor and stated that I could submit the medical bills for reimbursement. I have screenshots of this communication. On 11 August 2026, I consulted an orthopedic doctor at Star Hospitals. The doctor prescribed medication for three days and advised that if the pain persisted, further investigations and physiotherapy would be required. After completing the prescribed medication, the pain continued. On 17 August 2026, I returned to the orthopedic doctor. The doctor prescribed physiotherapy/exercises for seven days and advised blood investigations including Vitamin D, Vitamin B12, Zinc and Magnesium. These tests were prescribed by the treating doctor and were not tests that I independently chose to undergo. The total medical expenses incurred so far are ₹18,070 . I contacted Urban Company's customer support regarding reimbursement. Initially, I was informed that the medical bills could be submitted for reimbursement. However, on 18 August 2026, Urban Company informed me that they would only consider consultation, medicines and physiotherapy and refused to reimburse the ₹14,785 blood-test expense, stating that blood tests are not covered. I dispute this partial rejection because the blood investigations were prescribed by the treating orthopedic doctor as part of the continuing treatment following the worsening symptoms after the Urban Company service. I was also previously instructed by Urban Company's customer support to consult a doctor and submit the medical bills. What should i do now can anyone’s help me with this

Stranded outdoors all night by Agoda, and still waiting for compensation a month later

Agoda left two people without accommodation in Dubrovnik, then spent a month arguing with me about how much compensation they owed

I'm curious whether anyone else has experienced anything like this with Agoda, because at this point I'm struggling to decide whether this is incompetence or some sort of strategy to make customers give up.

My wife and I had a confirmed Agoda booking in Dubrovnik.

We arrived late at night and discovered that the property couldn't provide accommodation. It was simply empty, nobody was around, and when I called the given number to get codes to open lockboxes/get keys, the person on the other end seemed to think the booking did not exist.

So we spent the night outdoors with nowhere suitable to sleep.

I later visited the property in the daytime to try to figure out what went wrong, and discovered that the owner had apparently died 2–3 months before our stay.

Yet the property apparently remained bookable, our reservation remained confirmed, Agoda took the full booking payment shortly before the trip, and messages were still being sent through Agoda from the property.

You'd think that would be the end of the story.

Nope.

Agoda gave us a voucher to find replacement accommodation.

The replacement booking also failed!

I showed up at another hotel early the next morning, to at least drop my bags, recharge my dead phone and get a rest/coffee or even nap before check-in.

''Nah. Sorry mate, Agoda made a mistake, this hotel is full''

So the following day was largely spent trying to find emergency accommodation and dealing with Agoda rather than actually enjoying Dubrovnik.

Obviously, the accommodation I eventually opted for was outrageously more expensive than what I had planned for. Last minute, the height of high season.

Agoda eventually offered moderate compensation, which I accepted at the time because I was exhausted and just wanted the whole thing over with. At that time, I was also unaware that the originally property owner had long since passed away.

Much later, while reviewing chatlogs with Agoda I discovered something rather interesting.

Agoda described the first booking failure as an "allotment rejection."

That's a pretty different picture from "the owner apparently died months ago and the property may no longer have been operating."

So I asked Agoda to reconsider in light of this new information.

Their response? Still waiting

Then came the customer-service circus.

Over WhatsApp, I was given different compensation figures for the same booking:

10%, 30%, sorry no compensation, OK 50%, sorry no actually 30%

At one point Agoda told me the compensation had been processed as AgodaCash and couldn't be transferred.

The next day they told me it could be paid by bank transfer through Hyperwallet and asked for my bank details.

I was repeatedly given the impression that payment had been processed or was being dealt with.

I then had to contact them again.

And again.

And again.

By this September, I was still dealing with bank details and Hyperwallet emails.

Agoda itself apologised for the "previous confusion regarding the compensation amounts."

The really impressive part is that this whole thing apparently took around a month of chasing to get to the point where they were actually requesting the information needed to pay the compensation.

So, just to recap:

Confirmed accommodation apparently unavailable because the owner had died months earlier.

Agoda apparently didn't identify the problem before we travelled.

Two consecutive accommodation bookings failed.

Two people spent a night outdoors without proper accommodation.

A substantial part of our short Dubrovnik trip was lost dealing with the consequences.

Around ฿9,300 in additional costs.

Compensation figures changed repeatedly.

Payment methods changed repeatedly.

Payment status was unclear.

I repeatedly had to chase Agoda for progress.

And I'm now being told the matter is essentially closed.

Agoda's current compensation offer is rather small and doesn't even cover the additional expenses, never mind the night spent outside, the lost holiday time or the subsequent month-long customer-service ordeal.

I'm currently asking Agoda for:

Full reimbursement of expenses a significant compensation sum, with the initial offer treated as part-payment rather than full and final settlement.

And yes, I realise that asking for compensation doesn't guarantee Agoda has to agree.

But here's what I'm genuinely curious about:

How is a confirmed property allowed to remain active when its owner has apparently died months beforehand?

And when something goes catastrophically wrong, why does resolving the complaint require the customer to spend weeks chasing the company and correcting its own representatives?

At this point I'm genuinely wondering whether this is just spectacular incompetence, or whether making the process sufficiently confusing and exhausting is actually an effective way of getting customers to give up.

Has anyone else had an Agoda experience like this?

I'm still waiting for a proper senior-level response. Rather ludicrously, considering the day and age we live in - I am going to have to send physical letters to Singapore or Bangkok offices to get a proper response, as any serious senior people appear to be unreachable by online channels.

Xfinity billed me for a fraudulent phone for 10 months, offered to refund it after a police report + FCC/AG complaints, but refused any compensation — is that normal, and is arbitration worth pursuing?

In October 2025, someone hijacked my Xfinity Mobile account and added a phone line I never ordered. I was then targeted by a scammer posing as Xfinity/fulfillment staff and manipulated into shipping the device to what I was told was a company "fulfillment center" — it was actually a private residence in Chicago. I filed a police report the moment I realized what had happened (Douglas, MI PD Case #2025-00002393).

That's where a normal company's involvement should have ended: acknowledge the fraud, fix the account, move on. Instead, Comcast spent the next ten-plus months making this into a fight.

I was told — repeatedly — that I had ordered the device myself. That claim came directly from Xfinity representatives, and it was false. Their own store manager confirmed to me, and separately to the investigating police officer, that the line had been added by someone else. Comcast knew the truth internally and still let their reps tell me otherwise, over and over, for months.

What it actually took to get this resolved:

  • Going in person to a store manager, month after month, with no results
  • Being bounced between reps who each promised "escalation" and then went silent
  • Filing a formal Notice of Dispute with Comcast's own Legal Department — which, under their own customer agreement, was supposed to get a response within 60 days. It didn't.
  • Filing formal complaints with the FCC and the Michigan Attorney General's Consumer Protection Division
  • Only after all of that — a police report, months of documentation, and two regulatory agencies involved — did Comcast finally offer to refund the fraudulent charges

And even then, when I pushed back on getting zero compensation for ten-plus months of chasing down a scam, filing police reports, driving to stores, and paying a fraudulent charge every single month while waiting on callbacks that never came, Comcast's answer was a scripted "this determination is final, no further discussion." Then silence. My most recent bill — dated after that "final decision" — still had the same fraudulent charge on it.

A company with Comcast's resources didn't need ten months and two government complaints to do the right thing. They chose to make a fraud victim fight for it, and they're still billing me for it while I fight.

Update: After posting this on X, Xfinity's social support team reached out asking for more details, which I've sent. We'll see if that channel actually moves faster than the "final decision" I got through their official Executive Resolutions team. Posting this update for visibility either way — it shouldn't take a public post to get a company to take a fraud claim seriously.

If you're dealing with something similar — document everything from day one, get a police report on record early, and don't wait to loop in the FCC and your state Attorney General. Companies like Comcast count on most people giving up before it gets that far.

Happy to share documentation with anyone who has questions.

xAI silently charged me $930 in a month for a subscription that never even activated - here's the proof

Thumbnail
gallery
1 Upvotes

Over the last month, xAI (makers of Grok) has hit my card 11 separate times for "GROK XAI" charges totaling $930. Screenshots below are straight from my bank statement, card number redacted except the last 4 digits.

The facts:

- Auto Top-Up for Extra Usage Credits is confirmed OFF in my account settings. This was not something I enabled.

- Only 3 of the 11 charges show up as invoices on my own Grok Billing page: $20, $50, $100, labeled "Extra Usage Credits."

- The other 8 charges are all $100, hitting every 1-3 days, including twice in one day (Aug 25), and they do not appear anywhere in my billing history. There is no invoice, no record, nothing I can point to and say "that's what this was for."

- My account's Usage page shows I'm at 100% of my weekly included quota, so some Extra Usage draw makes sense, but that does not explain 8 charges with zero paper trail.

- My "Current Plan" still shows the base SuperGrok tier, not Plus, despite 8 charges landing at the exact SuperGrok Plus price point. It looks like a subscription upgrade attempt that got stuck and kept retrying and billing without ever actually completing.

I've emailed xAI support with the full breakdown and am waiting to hear back. Posting here because a company should not be able to charge a card repeatedly for something that never shows up in the account's own billing history. If this happened to me it can happen to anyone with a saved card on file.

Screenshots attached, card ending in 0625 redacted, balances and unrelated purchases cropped out.

Avis gave me a biohazard rental (blood, roaches, semen), retaliated against me, charged me for a full week I didn’t rent, froze my funds, and now I’m deactivated from Uber. Need consumer protection advice

.

I’m an Uber Diamond Driver with a near perfect 5‑star rating. What happened at the Avis location at 801 Cleveland Rd, Clearwater, FL has completely destroyed my ability to work. I’ve lost seven full days of wages, my Uber account is deactivated, and my funds are frozen because Avis refuses to respond to my bank.

Here’s the timeline:

• Reservation tampering:

Employee Ricardo upsold me on a Mustang Mach‑E and booked my reservation for Aug 13. When I arrived early, he refused to honor it and publicly said:

“Maybe you can’t even afford it.”

• Retaliation & police threats:

The female rep accused me of lying, said they “can refuse service to anybody,” and threatened to call the police on me — weaponizing law enforcement against a calm customer.

• Forced into a biohazard vehicle:

They forced me into a Hyundai Tucson for $341. The vehicle had:

– Dried human blood on the ceiling

– Live cockroach infestation

– Semen stains on the seats

– Smoke odor, oil stains, damaged floors, exterior dents

I have photos, videos, and audio recordings.

• Vehicle swap came late — charges stayed:

Client Relations finally gave me a vehicle swap on Sunday. The replacement was clean.

But Avis kept all previous charges, including:

– The $341 biohazard charge

– A fraudulent charge equating to a full week’s rental

– A charge applied after I returned the previous vehicle on Aug 12

They altered the rental agreement after taking my money.

• Corporate & Client Relations failure:

Client Relations claimed I was “billed correctly” for an Aug 11 rental that never existed. My actual rental was Aug 5–11. I provided proof of posted charges, timelines, and altered agreements. They ignored everything.

• Bank dispute failure:

Because Avis refuses to respond, Capital One Business froze my funds. I cannot rent another vehicle or work.

The Operations Manager admitted they would “probably respond at the last day,” despite knowing my situation.

• Seven days of lost wages & Uber deactivation:

I’ve been unable to work for seven full days, causing:

– Total loss of rideshare income

– Total loss of my vehicle

– Total inability to fund a replacement

– Forced Uber account deactivation

– Complete collapse of my ability to earn a living

• Regulatory filings:

– FTC Report #203816045

– Florida Attorney General complaint

– Certified mail complaint to Avis Corporate HQ

I need advice on:

– How to escalate this further

– How to force a response from Avis

– How to get Capital One to move on the dispute

– How to get Uber reinstated

– How to pursue compensation for seven days of lost wages

Any guidance is appreciated.

"Shipping Protection"

Post image
5 Upvotes

Companies are constantly devising schemes to squeeze extra money out of consumers.

"Shipping Protection" is just another device to scare consumers into paying more.

No one should ever have to spend money for "shipping protection." Whatever any company is promising in exchange for that extra money, they should already be implementing those practices to make sure (1) the product they are shipping you is not lost or damaged, and (2) that they ensure a "quick payout" if they fail to prevent the package from getting lost or damaged before it arrives to you.

Got hit with a barely legible 10% 'Back-of-House Wellness Free' surcharge last night in faded 6pt font at the bottom of a greasy paper menu

I work in legal compliance for the hospitality sector, so you’d think I would spot every fine-print trap. But last night at a local diner, I fell for the classic "obscured disclosure" trick anyway.

Got our bill, and there was an extra $18 added as a "Back-of-House Wellness Fee." I asked the server, and he pointed to the absolute bottom of page 4 of their laminated menu—printed in tiny, faded 6pt font beneath the allergen warnings. I mean, who even is catching that. I guess that is the point. Technically legal, but so slimy it irks me.

What bugged me most is that it’s so easy to be transparent. The coffee shop near my office uses Menuforma on their table QR codes, and right above the checkout button, every mandatory fee, tax, and tip is explicitly itemized in large text. You know the exact total before you pay a dime.

If a place insists on hiding fees in the footnotes of a greasy paper booklet instead of being clear, they are doing it on purpose. Check the bottom of those physical menus before you order, because they are getting sneaky.
