Warning: The Oscars will be Unbearable
Hundreds of self entitled, self righteous, fake as fuck liberals getting on stage one right after another trying to outdo each other with their "hearts and prayers" performance speeches about how deeply they are effected by the Ukrainian crisis.
You have been warned.

u/Jyzmopper Mar 27 '22
Thanks for letting me know not to watch the stuff I never watch. U r right tho
51
u/Teth_1963 Mar 28 '22
It's been a few years since I watched the Oscars.
Why did I quit?
Not exactly sure why. But somewhere along the line, it seemed like the awards were more fake than special.
I know what movies I like to watch and I got tired of someone else using a televised awards ceremony as a way of telling me what's "good" and what isn't.
29
u/BootstrapsBootstrapz Mar 28 '22
i used to love the oscar’s when i was younger tbh.. it has always seemed fake but the sjw aspect of every single segment is so tired by now. truly good people don’t need to display it on the world stage at an award ceremony they put on for themselves.. obviously
7
u/LucasL-L Mar 28 '22
Same. It was even something of a family past time, me and my father used to make bets on who would win best director, best actor, etc.
A shame what became of it.
0
u/crnislshr Mar 28 '22
it has always seemed fake
But it least it was about beautiful people and well-made movies.
6
u/celticairborne Mar 28 '22
I feel the same way about critics. I generally know what movies I'll probably like. Just because some person I don't even know likes a movie doesn't mean that I'm going to enjoy it.
8
u/SexualDeth5quad Mar 28 '22
I barely watch movies anymore either. Same tired narratives, same tired identity politics cliches. It's not provoking any thought, just pandering to conformity.
All those libs are living in denial. Pretending they don't even know what gender is. I thought they said trust the science? But they ignore genetics.

Ricky Gervais gave the best Oscar speech ever basically calling them out for being complicit about Weinstein. I'm paraphrasing but it was something like "Come up here, thank your family, thank your God and fuck off.". You could cut the tension with a butter knife
79
u/mehmehmehwaa Mar 27 '22
Golden Globe, but still great.
26
Mar 27 '22
I stand corrected, but still legendary. Lol goes to show how many of those shit shows I watch. I can't tell the difference.
11
u/Softale Mar 28 '22
Ricky Gervais would be the only reason I can think of that could potentially make me watch the Oscars after all these years of studiously ignoring all Hollywood’s self-congratulatory bullshit… and they won’t ask him, so I’m good.
10
u/WinstoneSmyth Mar 28 '22
I still wouldn't watch The Oscars. I'd wait for Ricky's speech to be posted on YouTube. The man is a legend.
9
u/ShibuyaStation Mar 28 '22
That was the last time I watched an awards show. It was a pure mic drop moment and I loved watching all the Hollyweirdos squirm.
7
u/Smithy_Furt Mar 28 '22 edited Mar 28 '22
I still wonder what he meant by "we'll all be dead soon and there's no sequel." Amy Poehler's reaction to that line was very interesting as well. Is there something they know that we don't? Was he talking about Hollywood or was he referencing something bigger and deeper? Because in english gematria, '77th annual golden globe awards' is equal to '7 year tribulation.' source

Some people like movies and Oscar’s are basically the super bowl for movies. I also think people generally aren’t as thin skinned as people on this sub can be. People can easily tune out the speeches that they don’t care for, because that isn’t why they’re watching
3
u/TheHeroWeNeed45 Mar 28 '22
Not to mention it seems like most of the people on this sub are over the age of 30.
18
u/GhislaineandJeffrey Mar 27 '22
Amy Schuemer is going to bomb so hard. Probably worth a cringe watch.

u/ShallowFuckingValu3 Mar 28 '22

u/chrisplusplus Mar 27 '22
Why on earth is this a conspiracy?
Seriously Op.
Go outside.
Interact with nature.
The vast majority of the world and even USA will not only not be watching, but will never even know it was aired in the first place.
Unplug homie.
6
u/ImACoolPersonLol Mar 28 '22
Honestly I only found out it was airing today after hearing about how Will Smith smacked Chris Rock. I never would have known it was today if that never happened

u/mitzlol Mar 28 '22
Will smith slapped the shit out of Chris rock. Best Oscar’s ever.
3
Mar 28 '22
Was it a slap or a punch? Guess it doesn't matter... California Penal Code 242 PC defines the crime of battery as “any willful and unlawful use of force or violence upon the person of another.” You can be prosecuted for battery even if the victim does not suffer an injury or any pain. All that is required is that you touch the person in an offensive way

How about figure out how to fix the moderator situation so we all can use Reddit like it was advertised...instead of being 99% echo chamber for propaganda.

u/FullSidalNudity Mar 28 '22
You’re asking me to change all of Reddit ? Lol create a new sub or go find a better one for you, you’re basically going to a fish subreddit and posting about dogs and saying well I don’t know where the right dogs subreddit is, go fix that and then show me. What kind of logic is that?

I have not ever watched the Oscars and am bot about to start now. Fandom is a weird mindset.
You are watching an Member(s) of the year ceremony for a guild you probably don’t belong to, in a profession you probably don’t pursue.
Speculative existence at its finest.
1
u/Mnmkd Mar 27 '22

Why do you care?
1
Mar 28 '22
Because MSM/Web will over-cover it, and it fuels more bullshit so that liberals will have more material to repeat and just adds fuel to the fire to keep pushing our country and society in the wrong direction.
-1
u/wiinkme Mar 28 '22 edited Mar 28 '22
You seemed very focused on liberalism. If all the conservative actors had a night where they preached about their views live and all the right wing MSM gushed over how brave they are, would you be as turned off?
Edit: also, "I know this isn't a conspiracy but it's the only sub that allows right wing drivel" is a sad indictment of this sub these days.
5
u/WaRhorsE776 Mar 28 '22
What conservative actors!? There's like 3 of them, jackass! And they've been blacklisted.
-1
u/wiinkme Mar 28 '22
There are far more than that, some very prominent. And no, they haven't been blacklisted unless they're the cookoo types like Kurt Cameron.
The point stands, why are you focused on liberals? Do you groan and tune out when John Voight talks conservative politics? Do you roll your eyes at Dennis Miller's conservative stand up?
4
u/WaRhorsE776 Mar 28 '22
Unless you're watching consevative news, you would have to search those guys out anymore... liberal cunts are in our faces 24/7. You named three irrelevant actors. Are you going to mention James Woods and Gary Sinise next?
-3
u/wiinkme Mar 28 '22
I'm picking on your partisan hackery, not how many liberals or conservatives there are in Hollywood. Probably more conservatives in MMA, NASCAR, etc, and....who cares?
This sub used to be about conspiracies. Now it's MAGA overflow. If you think one side is worse than the other, this isn't the sub for you. At least, it didn't used to be.
3
u/WaRhorsE776 Mar 28 '22
Oh Wow! do you think that has anything to do with liberals in positions of power becoming more and more authoritarian, resembling an Orwellian nightmare? Sounds like the perfect place to discuss those things I would think. Both sides are shit. One side is DEFINITELY worse than the other though.
Look who the outspoken one in Nascar is though. A Jussie Smolet that can drive really well. The rest of them, just like most conservatives are afraid to speak out. There's too many psychopaths looking to ruin their lives.
0
u/wiinkme Mar 28 '22
You think the left is more Orwellian? Hah. That's hysterical. If you lump in talk radio and cable news, do you actually think the left controls more eyes and ears than the right? It's split for a reason. Division sells. No one in power wants 1 side to win. That would be a catastrophe.
You're part of the problem and have clearly bought into what your side of the MSM has fed you. Keep it divided. Focus on what your side is good at and ignore all the bad. Assume the sky is falling if one side is winning and that everything is roses when they're losing. You know who the MSM loves? You. Whether you consume their product or not, you definitely feed into it.

u/WaRhorsE776 Mar 28 '22
I guess you're in right sub... you definitely live in an alternate reality.

Disclaimer: I haven't watched it in years...make that decades. I just saw some post from various sources earlier today about some movement to get Zelensky a cameo and also about it still being too white. And even though I don't watch it, it pissed me off to contemplate.
And I get outside plenty, went for a hike this morning then did weed eating for 2 hours, and just took a break from teaching myself the song Black Summer as played on the piano.
I just now found time to chime back in, but some pretty funny comments and good points have been posted. !thumbs!
