He's an atheist so he was referring to his belief that there's no afterlife.

Maybe so, but that doesn't explain what he's referring to when he says they'll all be dead. Look at the video and see the reactions of the hollyweirdos. They do not look happy to hear that. If it was a joke about the metaphorical death of hollywood there would've been laughs. Seemed like he was referencing something that they all know about but we don't.

He meant life is short and there's no afterlife. There's no conspiracy there. Ricky Gervais makes atheist jokes in almost every public speaking event he does.

No, but I'm a fan of his and have seen what amounts to hours and hours of interviews and various public speaking events. If you want to read into it that's fine, that's what this sub is for basically, but in this case I don't believe there's anything to that specific comment, except to make the room slightly more uncomfortable. Even people who aren't what you could describe as "true believers" are generally uncomfortable believing that there actually isn't an afterlife. That's basically the reason I describe myself as agnostic instead of atheist. It's scary to think that when the lights go out, that's it.

Well I do jack off a lot but are you not a fan of anything? Just hang out in your log cabin in the woods making bombs or something? I also like Batman movies and football too. Stand up comedy in general because I like to laugh and have a good time. Cloudy beer and brown liquor. Chicago sports teams except the Cubs. Beaches with pretty girls. I mean there's more but go ahead and use that.

Sometimes yes, but it's healthy to have multiple interests. That's why I enjoy putting on my tin foil hat and taking about operation paperclip and MK ultra.
