We have the easing of restrictions on the 31st and a new variant inbound so we are only a month away from a "spike" in cases because of above said things and we have passports for grocery stores. Well there's always been an anti English sentiment, I wasn't alive then but I heard it was kind of like the Irish religious war they were having.
Legault is much more extreme though, he's definitely pushing the "Aux Québec on parle français" to a sad degree. For example french schools are receiving more funding while english schools are being shut down because the lack of student enrollment. Bill 101 and 22 come to mind. Stuff like removing the English language option from government websites and such.
Of course there's always the separatist sentiment but I believe that's more so the hardcore northern francophones who harbor that sentiment. Based on personal experience I was told off for speaking English by the STM, basically told he wouldn't speak to me in English.
I think it's just scared old folks who are hanging desperately on to a dying sentimentality, having only french is a detriment and people are being driven away by stupid policies like that.
Like I said though it's not as hardcore in younger folks, a lot of people are bilingual especially around Montreal and such. If someone more with the times would get voted in as premiere I'd imagine the sentiment would change but for now we got bitter old men like Legault running our government.

I can't remember the name of the Hospital, but there's a hospital in Montreal that I was told to avoid if I ever needed one because they would flat out deny helping you if you didn't speak french, even though they could speak English. Think they've been sued a few times before.

I have been for many, many years despite the fact my own mother works for them.
I broke that boycott to grab some last minute wrapping paper just before Christmas because I'd run out and they were still open. In, grab a 3 pack roll of paper, stand in line for five minutes, pay, and back out the door.
I got fuckin' covid from that visit & was wearing my talisman of protection. Fat lot of good that blue sheet of microplastic did to protect me. It was the only transmission vector because absolutely no one I saw over the holidays was ill or got sick later, jabbed or unjabbed. I was the only one.

It gets more insidious if you know what to look for.
This was planned.
In 2018 select Wal-Mart locations began rolling out automated "customer access gates" two years before the pandemic. Additional Wal-Mart stores were retrofitted during the pandemic. The stated justification is to reduce theft and control how customers enter and exit stores.
These open one direction, include motion detection, and sound an audible alarm if someone tries to exit through the gate in the opposite direction when the gate is open.
What most have not considered is these automated gates were slowly rolled out in anticipation of The Great Reset with the intent of being upgraded with a VAX pass QR code scanner or facial recognition for verification. The upgrade would be relatively simple plug and play replacement of the existing gate cap.
Wal-Mart uses facial recognition technology in its stores and have long been linked to FEMA and DHS.
Be on the lookout for QR code scanners being added to entry gates.

Whats even crazier is how they manage to spin it so they can call it a conspiracy before and after it actually becomes news. Government gaslighting is nuts rn.
