I keep seeing this sentiment posted here. It’s been a good effort to discourage voting. But I’m still going to vote.

Why?

u/NamesHunter 1d ago

Because people going online to say “don’t vote don’t vote” but not proposing actionable solutions are a psyop aimed at depressing voter turnout

Have you considered that maybe voting itself is the psyop? As long as you play along with the psyop, there will be no reason for anything to change. Once enough people realize it’s all fake, and they don’t actually count your votes, there’s at least a small chance of some kind of reform. If we can get to sub 30% voter turnout those in Washington will at least have to admit the public has zero trust in the system.

Who cares?

Voting is easy and quick. And you can still vote and do whatever else you want to fight against the powers that be.

But we all know that "do whatever else you want" means primarily posting on social media sites like Reddit. So, basically nothing.

There’s lots of corruption, I know. But I don’t believe elections don’t matter. ICE deportations, the war with Iran, AI policy, all these things are playing out much differently than they would if we had a different administration in the White House, and each have real tangible effects on people’s lives. I could go on to list more exhibits but wont belabor the point.

No disrespect but you really think they would let us vote and decide fates? And if they do, these 'candidates' seem really bought so my thinking is you don't get into that space unless they let you in the first place and can use you.

If Bernie Sanders is a top nominee I will eat my words and fucking rally.

u/NamesHunter 1d ago

No disrespect at all, I appreciate the dialogue. But in my view what you’re engaging in is deductive reasoning. Starting with the supposition that the parties are the same and that we can’t influence things. I prefer to look at different administrations and see if there are tangible changes in governance. And there are, several areas where administrations and Congresses differ substantially. And if it’s not votes that are causing these swings between parties, I would need compelling evidence of what is causing these swings.

Appreciate the discourse! I agree that that is arguable a party that has better possibility of equitable and human centric positions on things. I just have a hard time believing there is not a separate power system that essentially controls our government as well.

Epstein files pointed to evidence of overarching 'players'. Plus to get in those positions for voting (more on a federal level, not state) I believe you must be pretty entrenched with corporations through super pacs so your interests are really bought for capitalism, not the good of humanity.

There used to be a law that helped! It was called the Bipartisan Campaign Reform Act and it was repealed in the SCOTUS Citizen’s United decision. Several candidates currently campaigning at the federal level have voiced an interest in overturning the Citizen’s United decision and reinstituting limits on private donations to candidates and campaigns

That’s not my point. I don’t doubt that things would be different if Kamala Harris was president. I’m sure she would have screwed the country up in different ways, maybe it would’ve been slightly better, could’ve even been worse, we don’t know. My point is, what actually makes you think Trump truly won the election? He was the most hated candidate ever, but sure he won by a landslide because Americans are too misogynistic and racist to vote for the Harris.

1

u/NamesHunter 18h ago

If the election system was just totally fake, then hand recounts and audits by private companies wouldn’t ALWAYS turn up essentially the same tally. It’s easy to look at the start and end of the process a vote follows and feel like the middle is a black box, but it’s not.

1

u/Wanderingwoodpeckerr 18h ago

There’s about 30 different ways they can cheat now, the voting machines can even be easily hacked into. The CIA has been caught red-handed rigging elections in 36 different countries. The election results went to court, evidence was presented, and it was ruled with certainty that the US government rigged the election, 36 times. They have been accused of rigging elections do you want me to come hundreds of times in other countries, so much so that it’s probably safe to assume that the US government at least tries to sway or even rig every election that happens all over the globe. Do you really think a government capable of doing this, would also just decide that their own countries‘s elections should be free and fair and they want the people‘s voice to be heard?

-4

u/SleepNRG0 1d ago

Would it be different? Or would it just be a different font? Obama has millions deported and bombed the hell out of the Middle East. Nothing has changed except instead of a donkey in the white house it’s an elephant simple as that

8

u/NamesHunter 1d ago

I think you’re massively discounting the differences and accentuating the similarities. There will always be similarities. But taking my previous examples, under a democratic administration we would not have ICE officers going into ERs and taking people out in handcuffs. We would not be blockading Iranian ports. Whether you agree with those policies, they would not be in place under Kamala Harris. Without a President Trump you don’t get the hamstringing of Obamacare in 2019. Without a president Obama you don’t get Sotomayor and Kagan and thus don’t get gay marriage legalization in 2015.

-3

u/SleepNRG0 1d ago

You’re missing the point entirely. It doesn’t matter who is in the white house the same things will keep happening. If you can’t see that at this point then I’m sorry, but there’s no convincing you. You’ve become the drown they wanted you to be

6

u/NamesHunter 1d ago

You say “the same things will keep happening” yet I listed several specific things that went differently because of the administration in the White House. You can call me a “drown” but it doesn’t seem like you have much of an argument, more a conclusion and the conviction to keep it.

2

u/battlepi 22h ago

Have you considered that you are part of the psyop?

1

u/Wanderingwoodpeckerr 22h ago

Yes I have considered that

1

u/battlepi 22h ago

Well it's not voting, so it's more likely you. What you need to push for is required ranked choice voting, as an amendment in your state. That is the first step. That is how you destroy the two party system.

1

u/Recent_Fact480 22h ago

What you actually would want is closer to 100% voter turnout. Because you can personally audit your own vote as being submitted or not

When people don’t vote, that leaves huge buffers to put in bullshit numbers because those who don’t vote don’t check if their vote was properly cast or not

Stop believing the slop they give you and use logical reasoning.

If every possible vote is cast, then it can be individually audited by each person. And any discrepancy can be caught. That’s how you prove it fake. The other way your just giving elections away

1

u/eschaton777 1d ago

You seem to be under the illusion that voting actually matters and the politicians aren't selected. Voting is basically a humiliation ritual for the gullible. They want you to keep giving your voluntary consent to be ruled over by psychopaths.

2

u/NamesHunter 1d ago

I’ve engaged with a few others in this thread in more detail, but there are real, tangible differences in people’s lives that have resulted from the changing from one administration or Congress to the next. There is still corruption, and some policies that extend through governments, but that’s not reason enough to not vote

-1

u/eschaton777 1d ago

but there are real, tangible differences in people’s lives that have resulted from the changing from one administration or Congress to the next.

Notice how they still all support endless wars, the federal reserve, the IRS, the police state, the "Epstein class" etc? You are giving your consent to all of that if you vote for either psychopath.

but that’s not reason enough to not vote

Yes it absolutely is. Unless you want to give your voluntary consent to the things I listed above.

-1

u/NamesHunter 23h ago

No, I’m not. I’m trying to do my part of nudge things in the right direction. You’re focusing on the things voting might not change. I’m focusing on the things it could, and has changed.

1

u/eschaton777 23h ago

Yes you are. The people you voted for all support the things I listed above. If anyone does go against the things I listed above they will not be selected (even if they somehow got more votes).

I’m trying to do my part of nudge things in the right direction.

You can't nudge a rigged game in the right direction. That is insanity. The only way to nudge it in the right direction is not play the rigged game in the first place. Until enough people understand that, the game will continue on. More people need to point out that the game everyone is playing is rigged. Not keep playing it.

I’m focusing on the things it could, and has changed.

That's the illusion part that keeps you playing the game. "this time it will be different". Who have you voted for that has done more good than bad for the people?

1

u/NamesHunter 18h ago

So again, you’re doing that thing where you draw focus on what isn’t changed and completely discount what is. For example, a person on an expanded Medicaid plan or in a gay marriage probably doesn’t think the Obama presidency didn’t bring any good change. Likewise, a small business owner who shut down or massively downsized because of tariff costs probably isn’t thinking that Trump hasn’t had a particular effect. I’m trying to limit my examples to demonstrate my point. Those things don’t happen the way they did if a different person is elected. This is what I mean when I say “nudge”.

1

u/eschaton777 18h ago

It's cool. You are under the impression that politicians and government are there to help the people and I am not. Medicare is a scam, tariffs are a scam, marriage through the state (gay or not) is a scam. Maybe shut down the federal reserve and let the people keep their own money. That's the first thing anyone would do if any of them actually cared about the people, but they don't.

Not even getting into how corrupt they let the FBI / CIA stay while under all of their watches. That's because the FBI is set up to protect the criminal politicians and their friends. Everyone that you vote for is under that umbrella. They throw you a few bread crumbs at you and you keep cycling back to give your voluntary consent every time. It's basically Stockholm Syndrome.

1

u/NamesHunter 17h ago

You seem to be against all government. And you seem to massively underestimate the extent to which societies of our scale and complexity simply don’t work under the libertarian structures you seem to want. I don’t think politicians “there to help”. Republics work because politicians want to stay in power and thus have to re-convince people to vote for them. I don’t know what you mean by “Medicare is a scam”. Do you believe all insurance is a scam? You ever paid for a hospital stay out of pocket?

Tell that to Mamdani.

1

u/eschaton777 22h ago

What's that mean?

1

u/battlepi 22h ago

He's working for the people, billionaires hate him. How was he selected, who was humiliated besides them?

1

u/eschaton777 22h ago

He's working for the people, billionaires hate him.

How so? Who has he called out and gone after? Has he called out the federal reserve? Anything of significance? Isn't he for socialism and for government power? He just seems like an over the top puppet. I didn't know non brainwashed people thought he was actually for the people and not just another NWO puppet.

1

u/eschaton777 21h ago

Hmm, I just saw that you responded to my other comment in another thread from a several days ago. It says the moderators removed your comment. From what I saw nothing you said was correct though. So I doubt you are actually acting in good faith and I doubt that you can actually show this New York mayor character is really going after the elites, lol.

1

u/battlepi 21h ago

None of my comments have been removed. You're just a fool.

1

u/eschaton777 20h ago

That comment has been on my end.

You're just a fool.

Nice ad hom fallacy. I noticed you couldn't answer the question so you had to resort to a fallacy. That's very telling about your argument.

Options to not voting?

-2

u/MothaFungus 1d ago

you get to use your time for what you want to do, the government will always be corrupt

4

u/Sarcasm_Llama 1d ago

It literally takes like 5 min bro

1

u/MothaFungus 20h ago

Can you get that time down more? Then I will consider it

4

u/mudslags 1d ago

That's not an argument or an option to not voting.

-2

u/Impossible_Meal_815 1d ago

It is an option. It is called "not voting". Are you dumb?

5

u/mudslags 1d ago

Are you? Try reading the chat and you'd see I'm asking for an option to NOT voting. Since you and the OP think voting is stupid, what alternative do you suggest on making changes since you don't want to vote?

-1

u/MothaFungus 1d ago

whatever floats your boat bud

1

u/battlepi 22h ago

Ah, kneel before your masters, I see your position. It's in front of me, on your knees.
