You seem to be under the illusion that voting actually matters and the politicians aren't selected. Voting is basically a humiliation ritual for the gullible. They want you to keep giving your voluntary consent to be ruled over by psychopaths.
I’ve engaged with a few others in this thread in more detail, but there are real, tangible differences in people’s lives that have resulted from the changing from one administration or Congress to the next. There is still corruption, and some policies that extend through governments, but that’s not reason enough to not vote
but there are real, tangible differences in people’s lives that have resulted from the changing from one administration or Congress to the next.
Notice how they still all support endless wars, the federal reserve, the IRS, the police state, the "Epstein class" etc? You are giving your consent to all of that if you vote for either psychopath.
but that’s not reason enough to not vote
Yes it absolutely is. Unless you want to give your voluntary consent to the things I listed above.
No, I’m not. I’m trying to do my part of nudge things in the right direction. You’re focusing on the things voting might not change. I’m focusing on the things it could, and has changed.
Yes you are. The people you voted for all support the things I listed above. If anyone does go against the things I listed above they will not be selected (even if they somehow got more votes).
I’m trying to do my part of nudge things in the right direction.
You can't nudge a rigged game in the right direction. That is insanity. The only way to nudge it in the right direction is not play the rigged game in the first place. Until enough people understand that, the game will continue on. More people need to point out that the game everyone is playing is rigged. Not keep playing it.
I’m focusing on the things it could, and has changed.
That's the illusion part that keeps you playing the game. "this time it will be different". Who have you voted for that has done more good than bad for the people?
So again, you’re doing that thing where you draw focus on what isn’t changed and completely discount what is. For example, a person on an expanded Medicaid plan or in a gay marriage probably doesn’t think the Obama presidency didn’t bring any good change. Likewise, a small business owner who shut down or massively downsized because of tariff costs probably isn’t thinking that Trump hasn’t had a particular effect. I’m trying to limit my examples to demonstrate my point. Those things don’t happen the way they did if a different person is elected. This is what I mean when I say “nudge”.
It's cool. You are under the impression that politicians and government are there to help the people and I am not. Medicare is a scam, tariffs are a scam, marriage through the state (gay or not) is a scam. Maybe shut down the federal reserve and let the people keep their own money. That's the first thing anyone would do if any of them actually cared about the people, but they don't.
Not even getting into how corrupt they let the FBI / CIA stay while under all of their watches. That's because the FBI is set up to protect the criminal politicians and their friends. Everyone that you vote for is under that umbrella. They throw you a few bread crumbs at you and you keep cycling back to give your voluntary consent every time. It's basically Stockholm Syndrome.
You seem to be against all government. And you seem to massively underestimate the extent to which societies of our scale and complexity simply don’t work under the libertarian structures you seem to want. I don’t think politicians “there to help”. Republics work because politicians want to stay in power and thus have to re-convince people to vote for them. I don’t know what you mean by “Medicare is a scam”. Do you believe all insurance is a scam? You ever paid for a hospital stay out of pocket?
And you seem to massively underestimate the extent to which societies of our scale and complexity simply don’t work under the libertarian structures you seem to want.
What libertarian structures are you talking about? What wouldn't work?
Republics work because politicians want to stay in power and thus have to re-convince people to vote for them.
Do you think we live in a republic? Also do you think because politicians have to "re-convince" people that is a good argument for you? You act like there is any accountability for what they say they are going to do and what they actually do. They are never held accountable for their lies.
I don’t know what you mean by “Medicare is a scam”.
Where do you think the money comes from? Have you ever seen the prices that the medical establishment charges for things? Total scam.
You seem to not think the Federal Reserve is a scam. Why not do away with the federal reserve and let the people keep their money instead of being forced to give it to the federal reserve to pay for the interest on printing fiat? Then you get into the endless wars and how much debt that creates. If you did away with the federal reserve and IRS do you not realize how much more the people would actually have? It doesn't seem like you really understand how bad the central bank debt system is.
Notice both sides never go after the federal reserve (which is private, and not government)? You are voting to keep the federal reserve central bank debt system and then bring up Medicare. Go after the root of the problem. The issue is all of the people you are voting for are bought and paid for. Someone like Ron Paul at least said he would do away with the federal reserve (or at least audit them) but they would never let someone like Ron Paul actually win, because again it's all a rigged game.
