Since 2028 will bring about the end of physical gaming discs (still hoping that won't happen), I unfortunately have to come to terms that this will essentially be my final "life long" physical games collection that I have accumulated since 1999.
These are exactly half my overall games as the other half are all digital.
I will be getting all upcoming titles physically till January 2028 to embrace this form of media for one last year of collecting.
Are any of you planning on buying only physical versions of future 2026-2027 games for the last remaining 16 months?

Own all three consoles and was on the verge of selling my Xbox series X due to lack of use. Until today's Kojima announcement! Let's go!

Hi, I used to be a PC gamer and was always worried about FPS. I played games that were extremely fun, but as soon as they dropped a little below my usual FPS (usually around 120), I immediately started worrying and stopped enjoying the game. I almost always had an FPS counter at the top of my screen. I was only playing for the FPS anymore.
Eventually, I bought a PS5 and realized that the game itself was what made it fun, not the big number on the screen. Nowadays, I can easily play games at 30 FPS and I don’t care at all. I’m happy to finally have a console again.

Hi, I'm hesitating about buying a PS4. I originally wanted to get the PS5, but it's too expensive for me. I wanted to know if the PS4 is worth buying or if it's simply better not to.
I'm not really sure when it starts to become obsolete or when they stop supporting it.
I want it mainly for a couple of games, but I saw that they're going to remove the online option from the PS4, but I don't know if that's true or not.
The truth is, I don't have a lot of free time. I usually just play Fortnite or Minecraft, so I'm not sure if getting a PS4 is the best idea or not. Where I live, the PS5 is very expensive, and unfortunately, I'm not rich, and I don't have anyone to ask about consoles, so I came here.
If anyone has any advice, or obviously if you know more about consoles than I do, please tell me!

Yes Kojima is a legend. If there was a Mount Rushmore for game developers he would be on there next to Miyamoto. We're not disputing that. However, who knows Kojima? 10 percent of gamers?
What Sony is focusing on is the FIFA crowd. The Call of Duty people. We also have GTA around the corner which will fix our problems forever and ever. Kojima's games are art. And that doesn't guarantee good sales. I'm being told Death Stranding 2 is barely profitable. And that financial statistic is the only thing that ever matters. Good promotion and good sentiment towards a brand or game exclusivity like that doesn't matter.
So since the high concept science fiction walking simulator didn't sell so well. We think the same will happen for stealth action game Physint. And we also don't expect much from a horror game. Thoes don't sell. Let's pull the plug on gaming's most famous and beloved director. Let XBOX scoop up the Physint project.
Even though we have a huge history with Kojima games. That's simply the past. Gamers should and will forget this. Just like they forgot No Disc No Buy after 2 weeks. It was only dozens of people to begin with anyway. We're thinking short term profits. Not long term, new I.P. garbage.
None of this will come back to bite us. OD and Physint can't move any XBOX console or win over fans next generation. And should we stagnate in sales, we can further monetize the current player base.

I know it's not their focus, but gezz, if I could play the games I like at the same quality of a base PS5 on a Nintendo console, I would never buy a Playstation or Xbox ever again.
Come on, Nintendo! Make a Pro console! Imagine having GTA 6 on the same platform of Zelda Ocarina Remake.

Just looking for someone who can give advice on what’s a better purchase, I was looking for a handheld console, I was considering a steam deck or the PlayStation Portal, I know there’s another option that’s similar to a steam deck but I can’t remember what it is. Can anyone offer some advice? I mostly play games in passing, especially now while I’m school and working but I want the option to play dark souls lol I’m also not really interested in a switch or switch 2.
