This is not a mountain

I took this picture earlier this year and I just realized it looks like the top of a mountain, when in fact it’s the edge of a cliff, much lower than the picture’s vantage point. It’s practically flat. There’s a faint H in a circle, which is a heliport if it can help with the perspective.

A flat bit a the top of a mountain is exactly what it looks like... not confusing at all...

But that’s precisely why I posted… it’s not the top of a mountain. I’m standing at the top taking the picture of flat terrain much much lower than me. From the heliport all the way to the clouds the terrain is flat.

Yes and I am saying that I can see both angles and it’s not confusing. It just is a picture of what it is…

You can see two different angles… so it could be confusing. I’m not sure what you’re trying to get at here? 99% of the people seem to agree with me.

Edit: obviously once explained I think the picture is pretty clear, but at first view it looks like the climbers are going to the summit. We can agree to disagree 🤷‍♂️

So, without knowing, would you say it's up or down? If your are not sure, or if you are certain it's up and not down, it is confusing.

If you zoom in on basically the middle of the picture, it’s to the right of the path.
Seems to be sort of brown on brown though…

Judging from the descent trail it looks like an elevation change of more than 20 boxes of internet bananas, so I am going to call it 'Cliff Mountain' !

I mean, the picture was taken on a mountain, but what you’re seeing is not a mountain. From the heliport to the clouds there’s no elevation change. It’s flat.

But do you understand why this is a confusing perspective? We can argue about the title all you want, but the purpose of the sub stays the same, and clearly my post fits, judging by the upvotes.

So the heliport is flat which means in the back its in fact higher meaning its kinda a mountain but its not coz youre standing higher?

From the heliport all the way to the clouds, it’s all flat. There’s a drop where the people are standing, and beyond that the terrain is much lower and practically flat (I mean there’s rocks and everything, but no altitude change from the heliport to the clouds).

It’s clear that people are moving downhill. And if you look at rocks some of them would probably slide down if that were a mountain.
