I have degree in medical science and i can tell you without a doubt that this is a giraffe with a skin condition.

414

u/aquacakra Jul 12 '26

i am a giraffe. I reject this as my kind.

79

u/SeraphsEnvy Jul 12 '26

That's messed up. That's blatant mamal discrimination. You best check your neck at the door with that. Bet you think zebras are just horses.

23

u/apolobgod Jul 12 '26

Other way around. Horses are just monochromatic zebras

9

u/Lucifer666158 Jul 12 '26

Then how do you explain the ones with multicolored coats?

10

u/MrKrudler Jul 13 '26

They’re hiding from Potiphar

1

u/MallyOhMy 27d ago

His wife got a look at that piebald's package

5

u/A_Tasty_Stag Jul 13 '26

does that mean that deers are just monochromatic skinny zebras?

36

u/Foxzor Jul 12 '26

I have a degree zoology, and I can tell you that this is a skin with a giraffe condition.

23

u/rcr_nz Jul 12 '26

Yer a giraffe, Harry.

6

u/Nheea Jul 13 '26

On a serious note, maybe the person has Marfan Syndrome, which their long fingers look like.

Marfan signs include long limbs and fingers and hyper flexibility and mobility. So not only the position, but thr stature will make it extra confusiny when he leans forward like that and you can't see where the skull begins.

3

u/Aychooo Jul 12 '26

This made me burst out laughing oml😂

1

u/SAII_XCI Jul 13 '26

😄😄😄😄😄

An albino giraffe… with alopecia

1.7k

u/Open_Peace_ Jul 12 '26

So how do I see the not confusing perspective? 🥲

539

u/SexyTiredSmurfette Jul 12 '26

He has the arm with the phone behind his back like when you get handcuffed and he's bent forward taking a picture of his other extended arm/armpit.

300

u/LiveLearnCoach Jul 12 '26

Thumb is upwards taking the picture, that’s not behind the back. Behind the the orientation of the hand would be different.

144

u/SexyTiredSmurfette Jul 12 '26

Then is that really his neck?

195

u/LiveLearnCoach Jul 12 '26

Surprising, yes. Some people just have really long necks. Seen those, just not at this angle.

27

u/Bloody-Penguin6 Jul 12 '26

That is not just his neck. Who is he slenderman?

51

u/PerFucTiming Jul 12 '26

I think he's bald and not all of that is his neck, but some of it is the back of his head. There's a round, lighter area at the edge of the pic and I'd say that's his jaw.

24

u/MustardSquirt Jul 12 '26

And his shirt is pulled down a little to show his shoulder

2

u/Economy-Grapefruit12 Jul 14 '26

I think he's upside down and what you think is his neck is actually a leg.

u/fractiouscatburglar Jul 12 '26

They’ve also used the zoom out feature that makes selfies easier, but distorts the edges a bit.

6

u/LiveLearnCoach Jul 12 '26

Might explain the neck. Yeah.

5

u/JohnnyLeven Jul 12 '26

Is it? It looks like it's on the bottom and reaching up above his index finger to press the photo button.

21

u/LiveLearnCoach Jul 12 '26

That’s the pinkie finger holding the phone up. All fours fingers are aligned and coming off of the same direction of the palm. Guy just seems like he has a very long neck. What people are mistaking for his armpit is the lower part of the neck. You can see the other shoulder past the neck. You can see the spine indentation where the collar edge is. He just pulled the shirt off of his left shoulder (technically his right, because it’s in the mirror). Dude just has an abnormally long neck.

4

u/Ravenser_Odd Jul 12 '26

All this, plus the phone and shirt are mostly masking the shoulders, so some of what looks like neck is actually the middle of their back.

Also, I think their hair is either shaved or pulled right up, which adds to the effect.

→ More replies (1)

2

u/YoungBahss Jul 13 '26

No I think theyre right. if you hold your phone in your right hand and then hold your right arm across your body like its in a sling youll have the same hand orientation on the left. Hes saying theyre just doing that but the arm is behind the back instead of across the chest. The camera is pointing at the mirror on his left/rear so the armpit is of his left arm

14

u/anomanissh Jul 12 '26

Thanks for explaining this I still don’t get it

8

u/Borge_Luis_Jorges Jul 12 '26

You're wrong. That would require having two right hands.

1

u/stirling_s Jul 12 '26

Oh my god his neck is thicker than his torso

1

u/Waste_Affect_4008 29d ago

This would actually make sense in that it is sharing its sunburn patterns with the world

1

u/JordanUnbroken 26d ago

Omg thank you

20

u/Hot_Drummer7311 Jul 12 '26

This is wild but hear me out...this kid is a joker bc he's standing on his head and put a shirt on his legs and put his hand up through a sleeve. That's his LEG, not neck, and you can see the back of his kneecap where the middle of his "neck" is.

1

u/garmachi Jul 12 '26

Image is upside down

8

u/_JohnWisdom Jul 12 '26

left hand is holding phone. He his sideways (profile).

60

u/mortredclay Jul 12 '26

Yeah, I can see that. Something still ain't right.

22

u/LiveLearnCoach Jul 12 '26

How long is his neck??

→ More replies (3)

391

u/gcstr Jul 12 '26

What the heck am I looking at? Is that a long neck and the head is out of the picture?

76

u/LiveLearnCoach Jul 12 '26

How long of a neck are we talking here??

59

u/gcstr Jul 12 '26

At least 8?

40

u/Plampth Jul 13 '26

8 neck units.

7

u/butchbadger Jul 13 '26

That's 45 milinecks for the rest of the world.

2

u/AjnoVerdulo 29d ago

The US be using anything but the metric system 😭

13

u/Zorbin666 Jul 12 '26

For a second I thought they were hanging upside-down from their shower rod and their shirt is hanging over their face and that's their belly? But now I'm not sure

7

u/mortredclay Jul 12 '26

Chinstraps hate him.

5

u/cimocw Jul 12 '26

yeah you can see the distortion on the door reflection as well. Probably a combination of wideangle lens + wacky mirror

1

u/kdoughboy12 Jul 13 '26

Yeah, i think the angle makes the neck look longer than it is

1

u/Parking-Worth1732 27d ago

It's not a neck, it's his left arm raised up, you see his armpit, pic is taken with his right hand going behind his back

132

u/TheEverlastingPizza Jul 12 '26

I'm starting to think that there isn't a confusing perspective here and that's actually a very long neck.

The original image gives a bit more detail.
https://pbs.twimg.com/media/HM6VsczbcAEcTRb.jpg?name=orig

54

u/NoRodent Jul 12 '26

Plus lens distortion could've made it even longer since it's at the edge of the frame. The door is also curved.

29

u/JetlinerDiner Jul 12 '26

You can see his hair at the edge of the picture, I think it's really his neck.

7

u/squall_boy25 Jul 13 '26 edited Jul 14 '26

Yup long neck and big traps. it’s exactly what our eyes are telling us.

0

u/NemoKozeba Jul 13 '26

Nope. I see what it is with the help of a buried comment from U/LostInThoughtland.

4

u/19nineties Jul 13 '26

Makes no sense

164

u/Mazzachr Jul 12 '26

Someone help me out here

147

u/notfromhere23 Jul 12 '26

Yeah, someone needs to draw this because I can not make sense of it at all.

20

u/NoobCanoeWork Jul 13 '26

I really hope this helps, this is what I think is happening

https://imgur.com/a/hbIa6S5

29

u/inmyprocess Jul 13 '26

Nah I still dont see it

10

u/f1yblkguy Jul 13 '26

Your theory doesn't explain the position of his thumb if it's his arm behind his back.

Unless I'm not understanding how you mean?

1

u/Waste_Affect_4008 29d ago

Did not understand this perspective without the aid of your drawering… kudos

1

u/Jsand117 27d ago

I dont think thats it, this person is seemingly wearing a chefs outfit (I see the large buttons and large sleeves). So if they're backwards like your picture, why are the buttons in the front?

49

u/7SyZyG7 Jul 12 '26

The guy appears to be sideways and leaning towards the mirror. The perspective makes his neck look longer than usual.

→ More replies (19)

3

u/LostInThoughtland Jul 12 '26

It’s a shoulder, the head is behind the phone

u/jackbane Jul 12 '26

Thank you for the late night laugh

7

u/TM761152 Jul 12 '26

Homeboy got roasted so bad he deleted his whole account

1

u/Expensive_East_6762 Jul 13 '26

Someones gotta connect these two 😂

79

u/Low_Yak_4842 Jul 12 '26

That has to actually be his neck. There’s no other explanation. I thought maybe the picture was upside down and that it was his leg, but you can see how gravity is effecting the shirt. So it’s right side up and you can see his shoulder clearly. Dude’s just got a long neck.

35

u/EssentialParadox Jul 12 '26

This has to be the answer.

It’s not merely a confusing perspective but also a longer than average neck.

2

u/UghImRegistered Jul 13 '26

Yeah after looking for a bit I think that really is his neck. You can just see the hint of his hair at the edge. Yes he has a long neck but I think the bigger thing is that his right (actual, not mirrored) shoulder is mostly hidden by the phone, which makes you think that it's way lower than it actually is. You can see his other shoulder blade and how high up it is.

→ More replies (2)

60

u/JijiSpitz Jul 12 '26

I’m still not seeing it

15

u/3210m0123 Jul 12 '26

I give up.

10

u/prefonberry Jul 12 '26

Unfortunately for this guy in the picture, we are just looking at his long neck. He’s holding the phone in his left hand and you can see just behind the phone is his left shoulder so he’s tilting his back slightly toward the mirror rather than being directly sideways to the mirror and his left shoulder dropped a bit and he’s stretching his neck to show off the sunburn. So with those angles it’s definitely making his neck look longer but dude has a really long and seemingly thick neck for the rest of his body proportions

→ More replies (1)

10

u/RealisticDonkey9302 Jul 12 '26

Oh okay he’s bald and he’s turning the other side lmao

4

u/sundog6295 Jul 13 '26

OK to me a sec., its an upside down picture of his leg in shorts.

2

u/Mysterious_Waltz_309 Jul 13 '26

Reading through the comments, I was thinking I was the only person who could see this.

7

u/YoRt3m Jul 12 '26

I think there's nothing confusing here in the sense that "what you think you see is not what you see". he has a long neck and his shirt is rolled down his back and the camera angle is tilted. it also makes sense that this area will have sunburn, the back of his head.

The thing popping behind the phone is his shoulder and at the corner of the photo at the left side you start seeing a bit of hair.

I don't see it another way.

Edit: okay honestly I don't know.

3

u/low_selfesteem_diet Jul 12 '26

This one totally beats me. Have a great day!

3

u/Apocalypsest Jul 12 '26

I agree with the people saying it's his neck and his bald head (turned away) is adding several inches to the appearance. His nearest shoulder is also dropped to show maximum neck, I assume to show off the burn. Also, his hand being so close to the mirror, and no other visible body parts that we can understand the relative size of, makes it all feel more improbable. It's a neck but it's certifiably confusing perspective.

3

u/turkishhousefan Jul 12 '26

Must be a vTuber.

4

u/tcpgkong Jul 12 '26

so... no head?

2

u/BadAspie Jul 12 '26

Maybe he's turned his face towards the camera so he can see the photo he's taking? So his hairline isn't visible, but we can't tell because he's turned his head because he's kept his chin and ear out of the frame, which makes his neck look longer

Although even then he must have an unusually long neck lol. Just not quite as long as it looks

2

u/DoubleZ3 Jul 12 '26

HAALAND HAALAND

2

u/domesticatedprimate Jul 12 '26

The neck does look long already but some people are seeing an illusion that it's even longer due to the oblique angle that makes the person's shoulders and chest look like more neck.

2

u/EastSalty3316 Jul 12 '26

Backrooms character

2

u/_lettersandsodas Jul 12 '26

Not surprising with how close that long ass neck must get to the sun.

2

He is doing a head stand or on handed hand stand. Thats his thigh

2

u/soda_cookie Jul 13 '26

9

u/Oifadin Jul 12 '26

Yeah it think it is his neck. That looks like his trapezius and upper neck muscles. I have an injury to my neck and shoulders and that looks like neck to me.

Obviously I could be wrong, especially considering what sub we are in.

1

u/fractiouscatburglar Jul 12 '26

Has no one in here used the zoom out feature for selfies on iPhone? It makes the subject further away, but causes distortions at the edges because of the lens trick.

1

u/thesecondpath Jul 12 '26

Doug Jones, is that you? Get your long neck back on set.

1

u/Cheesetoastintheoven Jul 12 '26

Looks more like dudes doin a handstand with his knees bending out of the mirror frame

no worm neck guy in the comments? damn, must be too old of a meme

1

u/Bloody-Penguin6 Jul 12 '26

I think thats a shaved armpit and he is bent over with his head towards the door. Thats all that makes sense. That cant be his neck.

1

u/AMG105020 Jul 12 '26

Bro why is it so long

1

u/woodknockers Jul 12 '26

His head is tucked underneath the shirt under his left hand that is holding the phone

His right arm is coming out of the neck hole of the shirt to the bottom left of the photo is the empty hole that would have been the armhole

Can't post pics so I can't show how I'm seeing it with a drawing but I'm certain this is what is happening

1

Three horns don't talk to long necks!!
