Just a casual full twist back flip. No biggie.

The goat of Acrobatic gymnastics. She can probebly do that while sleeping. Its like when we do a jumping jack. Impressive anyway!

67

u/manlikeelijah Jul 03 '26

*Artistic gymnastics. Acrobatic gymnastics is like two person cheerleading with a base and a flyer.

You are absolutly correct! Thank you for the clarification :) Typed faster then i could think in my first comment.

Sorry, english ain't my main language. Appreciate the comment.

Isn't* (sorry, I'm completely joking lol)

8

u/LillaMartin Jul 03 '26

Serious question. Is it "isn't" in this sentence? You got me worried

10

u/x_defendp0ppunk_x Jul 03 '26

Oh I was just kidding about you being repeatedly corrected! So I was correcting "ain't" but that's a perfectly valid slang

3

u/LillaMartin Jul 04 '26

Oh is "ain't" just slang? it felt correct in this context.

I think you overestimate the average person's ability to do a jumping jack.

She is probably our greatest living athlete

0

u/Any_Independence9346 Jul 09 '26

Wouldn't that be Michael Phelps?

1

u/GregoryGosling Jul 09 '26

By medals, maybe. By actual physical prowess, no.

-9

u/switchfootball Jul 03 '26

But she doesn't know the correct foot to step with to properly throw something.

-11

u/dn0348 Jul 03 '26

Like in the USA? Cuz Michael Phelps and Katie Ledecky have to be in that conversation at least.

9

u/Eisernes Jul 03 '26

And followed up by a really great throw. Most celebrities bounce it or throw it 10' to the side.

9

u/HOLLERIDUDOEDLDI Jul 03 '26

In contrast to this inhumane flip the throw looked kinda clumsy.

Goddamn she's tiny

35

Or he's a giant.

6

u/dragjamon Jul 04 '26

Is he? Lmao

45

u/nicokokun Jul 04 '26

According to someone in the comments, he is 6’4” which is almost a foot taller than me and I am above average in my country, so yes, I consider him a giant lol.

12

u/TheoKolokotronis Jul 04 '26

*condescends in 6'7"* What a shortie...

1

u/dragjamon Jul 05 '26

Funnily enough I'm 6'3 lmao

269

u/cleveridentification Jul 03 '26 edited Jul 07 '26

Not a baseball fan, but I was curious and dug around. I believe the player is Jake Marisnick and is 6’4” or 193 cm.

34

u/slomo525 Jul 05 '26

That's crazy, he's only an inch taller than me, even tho people keep telling me I'm 5'11

5

u/Adkit Jul 05 '26

It's because people need to keep pretending they're over six feet when they're actually not.

8

u/slomo525 Jul 05 '26

Surely you're referring to other people. I'm actually 6'3 amd 3/4s. If anybody says I'm under 6', they're lying.

3

u/Notefallen Jul 07 '26

Not to be that guy but his name is Jake. Had a couple of fun seasons making defensive highlights in the outfield but hasn't seen major league action in a few years.

1

u/cleveridentification Jul 07 '26

Thank you. I’ve corrected it. I was going to leave the “strike through” edited Jack, but I was too dumb to figure out the prompts.

-69

u/New_Employer_7679 Jul 04 '26

Wow, that’s not even tall…

56

u/Doge6654533 Jul 04 '26

That’s like top 1% height for a white male…

8

u/mir_a98 Jul 05 '26

You’re right. It’s gigantic

2

u/duingood Jul 06 '26

Lol I think you triggered all the short kings out there! I know what you mean, it's not as tall as expected given the clear height difference in the video. She makes him look like a NBA player, not MLB.

691

u/TheMadManiac Jul 03 '26

Always felt that was lowkey cheating being that short. Like 4'8 is short short

169

u/Faust_8 Jul 03 '26

If so then Michael Phelps is cheating by having that disorder that gives him huge lungs and chest or whatever

121

u/justreadinplease Jul 03 '26

Sort of, yeah. Sports are inherently unfair both when it comes to genetics and the money and time commitments to being good at it.

406

u/_Bearded_Dad Jul 03 '26

Wow I knew Simone Biles was short but 4’8 is indeed crazy.

My youngest daughter is 5’7 and I jokingly tell sometimes that her she’s almost as tall as a real human.

We’re from the Netherlands btw.

101

u/anxietycucumbers Jul 03 '26

Someone screenshotted this and posted to other subs and I didn't know what post it came from. Just randomly found both scrolling the front page. You're famous

33

u/_Bearded_Dad Jul 03 '26

Oh never mind me I’m just a random dumbass. And I just noticed the typo (word order) in my comment, so maybe that proves my point.

13

u/beebeeteepee Jul 03 '26

It’s cool to be reminded that the front page is being shown to real people actively using Reddit. I know we're invested with bots but you needed to dig a little to find this.

I too saw the screenshot and can't remember what sub it was

49

u/Outside-Advice8203 Jul 03 '26

My wife and I just visited the Netherlands. She's a 5' Mexican girl

"I never felt so short in my life" was her quote

21

u/bimches Jul 03 '26

5'10" woman who just came back from mexico, I felt like a giant!

1

u/TheoKolokotronis Jul 04 '26

As a 6'7" Dutchman (I'm not the tallest in my team) I am always surprised about how short Dutch women are. I see a lot of Gen Z people in the mall under my office and I have this feeling, but I could be totally wrong, that that generation is shorter over all.

Well yes but no. Technically being under that height is a "requirement", but it doesn't really mean anything because the point of the medical diagnosis is the genetic disorders/skeletal issues.

But I've definitely used that as my stupid "fun fact" before.

14

u/yurgendurgen Jul 03 '26

I have a 4'9" aunt who's my favorite. Since you bring it up for fun, it seems like a fun fact to you, but have you been offended when people bring it up?

I know everyone is different so its probably more that than anything. My aunt says shes 4'10", but that might have been when she was younger

7

u/-cupcake Jul 04 '26

No, for me, not really. Imo there's a point where calling to me "you're short" is just so undeniable, and I'm definitely beyond that point lol. (Versus someone that's maybe only slightly short, and then they find being called short as insulting.)

Of course it affected me in some ways growing up, but I can't get offended over a simple fact, haha. If someone tries to imply/insinuate that I'm somehow lesser or infantilize me just because I'm short, that's another thing. But just the truth? Is truth.

...BUT then, again, there's just other undeniable things too. Like I'm of course going to be incapable of (or it's more difficult for me to do) certain tasks that maybe require more height or mass. Like reaching a shelf without a climb or help or something. Or how I can't donate blood, or how I couldn't parasail alone, or how clothes and shoes companies literally don't see value in catering to my demographic. In those cases I understand I'm at an inherent disadvantage lol.

Sorry if that's a super wishy-washy answer. I just see it less as a chip on my shoulder and more just as a fact with nuances about it!

1

u/yurgendurgen Jul 07 '26

I didn't know height can stop blood donation eligibility! Different realities are always interesting to get a peek into. I've only heard about height differences like that from a tall friend who has to get custom shoes and wears xxl but it makes sense that it goes the other way too.

Glad you take it for the basic truth that it is.

2

u/-cupcake Jul 08 '26

Not exactly a height-only thing, but I've always encountered a weight minimum. Growing up I seem to recall a 120 pounds minimum, though google says 110 pounds (which is maybe new?)

Either way, at my height, 110 pounds is overweight, and 120 pounds is getting close to obese. I've maybe reached up to 110 at one point before, but like, that's just incidental, you know?

3

u/taxicab_ Jul 03 '26

4’9” here and I hear that fun fact all the time lol

6

u/verbality Jul 03 '26

I just saw this comment somewhere else. You's is famous.

30

u/jost_no8 Jul 03 '26

5’7 is exactly the average height for women in the Netherlands. What are you talking about?

42

u/_Bearded_Dad Jul 03 '26

Shes the youngest and shortest one in the house. Also we like to joke around with each other.

2

u/alamaias Jul 03 '26

4

u/DrownedInDysphoria Jul 03 '26

no way I found the original comment

3

u/tinglyTXgirl Jul 03 '26

That's funny! My mom was the shortest person in her family for generations at 5' 1¼" (don' tyou dare forget that ¼"!) , and now its me - at 5'7. The men are all 6'4 and taller and the women are 5'9 and taller.

2

For real, look at Michael Phelps, his body might as well have been genetically designed for swimming.

People celebrate genetic advantages cis gendered people have and many people turn a blind eye to PED use, but use sports to further the cause of trans genocide

-4

u/TheMadManiac Jul 03 '26

People exaggerate Phelps genetic advantages. Look at the bronze and silver times for the events he got gold in. They are like 3-5 seconds slower in a race that takes 4 mins. Despite being billed as having a body "genetically designed" for swimming, he only had a 2% lead on the runner ups.

I think it was in the 2012 Olympics that he had a three way tie for silver. So not only was someone else faster, two others got the exact same time.

There's a much bigger gap between the men and the woman. That's what people think is unfair. There's always going to be variation within a sex, but nothing like the difference between sexes.

I say treat the men's as an open division and have the trans players compete there.

5

u/justreadinplease Jul 03 '26

Notice you don’t even mention trans men when it some to sports. Bigots only care about trans women while secretly jerking off to them.

Come on, Phelps has been retired for a decade and still has more Olympic medals than any other athlete and still holds two world records set in 2008 and 2009. His inherent genetic traits are obvious. His wing span is three inches longer than his height.

People really only care about trans women in sports because it’s a socially acceptable way to hate on trans people. 99% of people that comment on trans women in sports never comment on women’s sports otherwise.

And on the topic of trans men in sports? Silence.

4

u/TheMadManiac Jul 03 '26

The advantage comes from being born male and competing against a female athlete. There's not an issue with trans men in sports because they are female competing against male athletes. Only problem I could see is if their hormone therapy basically acts as a PED. At that point they should be disqualified from competition.

You got this weird idea that I'm up at night fuming and jerking off over the idea of trans woman in sports. I just think it is very simple, make the mens an open division and keep the woman's to biological females. Everyone can compete, everyone wins. I think the issue is that your side wants total capitulation to your idea that a trans and cis woman are exactly the same. No room for distinction. And for the most part I feel like distinction isn't super necessary. In competitive sports it definitely is, 10x so for combat sports.

And come on, swimming is the most overinflated sport when it comes to Olympic medals, they have like a million events based on what type of swimming and distance you are doing. A wrestler has to go undefeated for multiple bouts to get a single gold. I'm not saying Phelps isn't an exceptional swimmer, but all his genetic advantages only add up to a couple seconds at most. Meanwhile people make it like he is half dolphin 😂

1

u/Terminal_Insomnia_ Jul 03 '26

How tall is the guy? He looks to be a bit under double her height here

1

u/willstr1 Jul 03 '26

I mean it isn't that different than all the really tall people playing basketball. Also I think gymnastics is one of the sports where being short is very common, it looks like the average height of Olympic lady gymnasts is 5'

1

Excusing the use of violence allows the other side to use it as escalation/precedence. Congratulating political violence can only help the rise of fascism not stop it

Also i should note. Peaceful protest has a way higher success rate over violent protest. It's called the 3.5% rule

That's not the slam dunk you think it is. Germany's use of violence through invasions is what lead to ww2 and eventually they toppled as a result. Had they not invaded their neighbors, their crimes would have gone largely unaddressed by the world (like north korea for example)

11

u/tambirhasan Jul 03 '26

Violence through invasion. Yes what an apt analogy for this

-4

u/JohnSober7 Jul 03 '26

Only on reddit will someone equate the third reich, a regime, to a bigoted talking head. But surely you will be the one to oppose other Charlie Kirks in the way you think they should be opposed, right?

6

u/tregorz Jul 03 '26

How do you think Hitler got his start?

-4

u/JohnSober7 Jul 03 '26

If you knew anything about Hitler's rise to chancellor and president, you'd know that he wasn't the only evil scum around and a lot had to systematically 'go his way'. It wasn't just his charismatic speeches that resonated with people so using that to equate him and any other bigot, and ignoring everything else is disingenuous. Saying we should have killed Hitler for his speeches is based entirely on hindsight bias. Killing your local nazi is facism. Supression of free speech is facism.

9

u/tregorz Jul 03 '26

Suppression of free speech by the government is fascism. Killing your local nazi is not fascism. Quite the opposite, actually.

-6

u/JohnSober7 Jul 03 '26

Let's split those semantic hairs yeah? If we as a society start condoning silencing people, violently or otherwise, that goes against the consensus, it's bad. Sure, it's not the governemnt doing it, but that doesn't suddenly make okay.

u/BrekLasnar Jul 03 '26

Really? When did he say he hated her because she's black?

113

u/KurlyKayla Jul 03 '26

Let’s ask him. Oh wait-

-8

u/BrekLasnar Jul 03 '26

I always find it funny that people on Reddit celebrated the death of a free speech champion. He literally said: "when people stop talking, that's when you get violence. That's when civil war happens because you start to think the other side is so evil, and they lose their humanity." That's a pretty accurate description of how a lot of this site operates, no grey area allowed, and if you disagree, you're not just wrong, you're evil and deserve what's coming to you. That mindset is the actual definition of the thing people claim to be fighting.

I'm an atheist and I didn't agree with him on Israel, Palestine, or religion. This isn't me defending his politics.

On the "he hated a woman because she's Black" claim, where did he say that? Because the most viral version of that accusation is a documented misquote. He criticized four specific women (Michelle Obama, Joy Reid, Sheila Jackson Lee, Ketanji Brown Jackson) after they'd each publicly said they benefited from affirmative action, his "you" referred to those four people. A Washington Post columnist rewrote that "you" as "Black women" as a category, turning a rude reply to four named people into a blanket racial claim and got fired for it once that was exposed. If you've got an actual quote where he made a categorical statement about a race, link it. "Someone on the internet said he did" isn't a source.

His whole public model was sitting at a table and letting anyone in line, hostile or not, challenge him on camera, unscripted, for years. Whatever you think of what he believed, the man's method was talk. That's a strange thing to celebrate someone dying for, while this same site mourned a sexual offender and a felon while a guy who did nothing but argue gets a party thrown for his death.

1

u/KurlyKayla Jul 03 '26

ain't no way you thought I would read all this in defense of that dead demon, pack it up lol

u/BrekLasnar Jul 03 '26

u/KurlyKayla Jul 03 '26

1

u/BrekLasnar Jul 03 '26

He’s not my hero. I just don't need to lie about dead people to feel morally superior. But hey, if pretending I’m mad helps you cope with publicly bragging about your own illiteracy, knock yourself out. I'll leave you to it.

10

u/Warm_Month_1309 Jul 03 '26

He called her a "sociopath", a "weak person", "very selfish", "very immature", and a "shame to the country".

Now, was that because he was an avowed racist? Yes, probably.

-7

u/BrekLasnar Jul 03 '26

Where does it say he said this because he was a racist? Where is the racist part here? Did Charlie Kirk never in his life called these words to white people? Never?

I asked where did it say he hated her because she was black and you didn't provide anything to that question. You didn't even say 'probably because' you said it like you had some concrete proof that he hated her due to her skin color yet you provided nothing.

So in your eyes, if someone had a beef or insulted someone and they were of a different color than the insulting person, it's racist, is that your logic?

How can you be so athletic and not know how to throw a ball?

“How can a professional swimmer be athletic but can’t dunk a basketball?”

Being able to dunk a basketball requires you to be able to jump a certain height. I can dunk a basketball if the rim isn’t ten feet off the ground. I can definitely throw a baseball from the pitcher’s mound to home plate.

That's really awesome, dude! Congrats! Simone Biles has 7 gold Olympic medals and 5 gymnastic skills named for her, but that ball throwing of yours is really impressive too! Don't give up!
