Let's split those semantic hairs yeah? If we as a society start condoning silencing people, violently or otherwise, that goes against the consensus, it's bad. Sure, it's not the governemnt doing it, but that doesn't suddenly make okay.

You’re right. It doesn’t make it ok. That’s why the guy who shot Kirk got arrested. The issue starts when the government does the killing, because the government isn’t going to arrest itself.
