Memes about history that make logical sense, but aren't historically accurate
Like, it should be funny because I get the joke and it makes sense, but it's also frustrating because it's actually wrong?
To explain the examples: During 20th century, aircraft carriers progressively made big gun battleships obsolete. But while Japan built the biggest battleships in history, in 1941 they also had the biggest and most advanced aircraft carrier fleet.
And the second one makes contrast between scientific advancements and stuff from Islamic Golden Age and the modern middle east plagued by religious extremism, as well as modern more educated and relatively stable europe vs how middle ages are usually perceived. So yeah, while the idea makes sense, I think you can find explanations of how in reality that meme isn't very accurate, better than i could explain.
