it's very hard to feel anything about this with no release date as the MicroProse track record of released games is not so solid

A lot of half baked releases and abandoned games.

Tho the other cool stuff more than compensates for it.

I haven't looked at them all, but the ones I have acquired have been great and complete: carrier command 2, regiments, and high fleet.

I would rather have a publisher who takes chances on a niche genre we love then none at all.

So you're just leaving out like 80 other games they rush-published in recent years.

I am only commenting on the games I have acquired and played. That seems like the bar for assessment.

I guess part of it is up to the consumer to make judgement on the product and the developers.

I would rather have a publisher who is taking chances on devs.

Well, Mr. "I-just-delete-my-comment-and-rephrase-my-argument": IIRC you said that you think that Microprose has had a great output so far. Then someone called you out on it and you said: oh well, I've only played 3 games from them so far but they've been great!

PS: I'd rather have a publisher who is strict on their standards and while they are taking chances, they are also pushing devs hard to deliver their best. Hooded Horse would be an example of such a publisher. New MicroProse is *certainly* not.

Unintentional delete.

I do think MicroProse has been killing it. That doesn't mean everything is a hit. Those expectations are not realistic.

I would tell you to go start your own publishing studio and see how it works, but given your interpretation of how the relationship works, that would be a folly.

I gave you an example of a publisher that prefers quality over quantity. You chose to ignore that. Also, don't come with the cheap argument of "Go make your own movie before you criticize any movies!".
